Vacation Home Rental Description:
Enjoy the tranquil beauty at this very private Rideau Canal vacation property. This 3+bedroom home was built in 2007 and is very comfortable for a large family to relax or play at. It's open and airy interior will impress and the large living room's two-story vaulted ceiling with window wall shows an elegant view of the lake from under the canopy of trees.
Two kayaks are available for a quiet trip in the still waters of the protected bay in front of the cottage. Take advantage of the great fishing in the area, and enjoy the wildlife from the full deck, and large dock on the property.
The Rideau Lakes Region is a great place to explore. You can take advantage of the great fishing, boating, swimming, water-skiing, or lock through the historic canal system to the other attached lakes and towns. In the surrounding towns and cities there are also lots of activities, and events to participate in including, golf, historic tours, boat tours, shopping restaurants, parties, and lots more!
This cottage is conveniently located not far off of highway #15 at the halfway point between Toronto and Montreal, 40 minutes from the Canada/USA border, and only one hour and 25 minutes from Ottawa. A great place for extended Families to congregate.

Located less than 5 minutes from the cottage is a new single sheet Curling rink that can be rented by the hour for your own private Curling tournament. Ask for details.
Beds:One queen bed in the downstairs bedroom, 2 single beds in one room upstairs, 1 set of bunk beds in the other bedroom upstairs, and one trundle bed in the loft (single bed with a pull-out, single bed beneath) The living area has a pull-out couch.
Linen service is included for bedding. Renters must bring their own towels, or they can be rented for $12/person (this includes three wash-cloths, three hand towels, three bath towels, and one bath mat).
Benson Lake is connected to 6 lakes without going through the locks. Its a quick boat ride to the town of Chaffey's Lock, Newboro, and Westport is just through Newboro Lock. There are public trails in the area including the "Cataraqui Trail". The house has a large deck and at the water there is a nice large dock.

Benson Lake is near Chaffey's Lock on the historic Rideau Canal. Groceries, restaurants, shopping, golf are in neighboring towns of Westport, Portland, Elgin, and Chaffey's Lock. The city of Kingston is about 40 minutes away.

Cancellation Policy:
Cancellation made by the Renter shall be in writing and addressed to Rideau Lakes Property Management at the address stated at the top of the booking application form. Cancellation can also be emailed and will be considered accepted once a confirmation reply is received. On receipt of such notice of cancellation, we shall endeavour to re-book the holiday accommodation for the period of the original booking.
If we are successful in rebooking the holiday accommodation for the entire period originally booked, we will refund to the Renter all monies paid (whether deposit or full payment has been made) less an administration fee of $100.00 per period booked.
If we are unable to re-book your holiday accommodation, then all monies paid by the Renter (whether deposit or full payment has been made) shall be forfeited.
If we are unable to arrange the rental of the Property, due to unforeseen circumstances such as natural disaster, we will attempt to arrange alternative holiday accommodation of a similar type and cost and standard and in a similar location as that originally requested by the Renter. If the alternative holiday accommodation and/or rate is not acceptable to the Renter, we shall refund in full to the Renter all monies paid by him/her to Rideau Lakes Property Management. Requests by the Renter to switch to different cottages other than the ones that have already been booked by renter, will be provided only if the original booking property/time can be re-booked, and it will result in an additional administrative charge of $50.00.
Terms and Conditions:
Reservation is secured with a 30% deposit paid via personal cheque (if time permits) direct deposit, or email money transfer, completed renter's contract (forwarded with booking information), and post-dated cheques for the balance of rent and security deposit.
Security deposit cheque will be held in trust and not cashed unless needed to due to damages or cleaning expenses incurred.
If no damages or cleaning fees are to be with-held, the Security Deposit cheque will be mailed back, marked void within one month of check-out.
Rent consists of the rent amount with taxes included, plus a cleaning fee of $88.50+HST.
