You will discover this secluded holiday cottage situated on the magnificent Peycibeau estate in the heart of the beautiful Dordogne region, only a few miles from the medieval town of Sarlat. Surrounded by 42 acres of rolling meadows and shaded woodlands, this property offers a holiday in perfect peace and tranquility. As you come up the drive, you will see that the setting is truly breath-taking!
The owners, who moved here from England eight years ago, maintain the house and grounds to the highest standard. This is reflected in the rental accommodation contained within a separate wing of the ground floor of the house, which has been decorated and very comfortably furnished to provide real home-from-home luxury!
As well as everything that the cottage has to offer, guests are also invited to enjoy the benefits of the fabulous summer house next to the solar-heated swimming pool. In here there is a comfortable bar, and a dining area with a stone-built BBQ and also a traditional bread/pizza-oven, as well as a convenient shower room with a steam-shower.
In the cottage, there is a spacious living room, with a fitted kitchen including dishwasher, fridge, oven, hob & hood, microwave, and all the necessary kitchenware. In the same room, a dining table & chairs, a dresser and sofa bed. Also Satelite TV, a DVD player (DVD's are available to borrow)and a radio/CD player.
The accommodation sleeps 4 - there are two comfortably furnished bedrooms, one with a large double bed, the other with twin beds. Plus a fifth person could sleep on the large comfortable sofa bed in the sitting room. A cot and high-chair are available, a washing machine, iron etc. Wi-Fi internet covers not only the cottage but also the area around the pool and summer house.
The large bathroom has a bath and a separate modern shower enclosure, a basin & WC. All bedding and towels are provided, including ones for the swimming pool. There is central heating in all rooms for use during the cooler months.
This guest wing of the house has completely private access, with an entrance through French windows at the front, and also a door to the rear garden, where there is a secluded terrace with teak garden furniture, a parasol and a gas BBQ/grill. A path leads from here to the swimming pool, which is daily maintained. Entrance to the property is through electric gates, and there is ample parking close to the house.
Although the property is secluded, and this is undoubtedly one of its real attractions, only 2 km away (a few minutes by car or bicycle and 15 minutes on foot) is the picturesque village of Carsac, where there are all the amenities you will need - a Boulangerie, butchers, general store, chemist (doctor if required), post office and cash-point, restaurants and a bar/tabac.
The Dordogne river is a few minutes further down the road, where there are quiet banks to bathe, fish or canoe, and only 8 km away is the wonderful, historic town of Sarlat.
