Welcome to a wonderful property for the sports-minded and those who want a peacful spot to "get away from it all". Morels On The Wabash is located along the historical state Wabash River. It is located in Central Indiana, 60 miles north of Indianapolis (home of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway), 30 miles east of Lake Shaffer, Monticello, Indiana (home of Indiana Beach amusement park), on highway 24, and 125 miles southeast of Chicago area.
Close to the historical Madame Carol paddleboat on the Tippicanoe River. Walking distance to France Park, a clear spring feed lake - featuring, mountain biking trails, elevated wildlife observation decks, fishing, swimming, scuba diving/dive shack, and waterfalls.
Nesting American Bald Eagles within a 1/2 mile of cabin. Surrounding area is filled with deer and wild turkeys. Beautiful fall leave colors equal to Brown County.
The secluded log cabins sit on 10 acres, are approximately 900 sq. ft., with a combined living area/sleeping area. The cabins are air conditioned and have propane/electric heat. One cabin sleeps 6 and one cabin sleeps 4.
The rustic interior is Knotty Pine siding with antler chandeliers. The sleeping area features a queen size log canopy bed. Living area includes sofa hide-a-bed,DVD and VCR. The cabins feature full kitchens and microwaves.
Outside features include an enclosed private hot tub (access available with an additional fee), deck, patio, gazebo, swings, and picnic area. Picnic area has fire pit, picnic table, and outdoor cooking facilities. Cabin is secured by security cameras. Additional day guests will be charged a gathering fee.
Outside recreational activities include 2 canoes and 1 Kayak. Paddles and lifejackets available. Downstream pickups available at an additonal cost prearranged agreement.
A private pond stocked with Bass, Blue Gill, Crappie, and Catfish is located on premises. The property also includes an Archery range with 3-D targets and elevated deer stands. Clay pigeon shooting is available upon advanced notice and is strictly supervised per an additional charge. The property contains a walk-in cooler ,fish cleaning station. and commerical ice machine.
Hog roasting, turkey frys, and hayrides are available upon request at an addition fee. Motor home hook-up available (water, 110 volt electricity. 1/2 mile from cabin is a public access site for flatbottom and other watercraft.
All Indiana Department of Natural Resources regulations apply (fishing and hunting licensing, lifejackets requirements, etc.). All regulations are the sole responsibility of the renters. The private pond is a catch and release with the exception of the first 3 catfish. Additional per pound charge will be added for other types of fish.
