3 friends of fifty years plus Sharon W. from Sykesville, MD recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in April, 2013 Two of us have stayed at the Hololani before. We all found this unit to be beautifully furnished with all the extras we needed for our two week holiday. We prefer Kahana to other locations on Maui (it is near the action but quiet) but the Hololani is not for you if you want to lay on the beach in front of your condo. However it is perfect if you want to look at sea turtles every morning and late afternoon as well as watch other people enjoy all kind of watersports. The best sleep of my life has been during the two two week vacations I spent at the Hololani. |

Kitchen was spacious and well equiped, ice maker in the freezer was well received. Stayed for 9 days in August, 2011 We all had a great time staying here and the place was nice and clean and well stocked, Marci in the office was great!the only problems we had was the sofa mattress was VERY thin and needs replacing very badly,we used the sofa cushions to pad it with to sleep on and we had to buy fans for sleeping area for it was too warm in the afternoons and at night.The B building was great less traffic and noise and towards the back where A bld is close to the road.The beach is small but all the major beaches is close by so we had no problems there,we founf that Times supermarket was close and had the best price,walmart was over priced! and does not carry fresh meats.I would stay here again and I have referred friends and the price was good!To the owners and staff thank you for a good time! |

Stayed for 16 days in February, 2011 Away from hustle and bustle of Lahiana but still close enough to enjoy what Lahiana has to offer. Great view of ocean. During whale season you will be dazzled. Awesome sunsets. Building B does not get as much sun as building A which was great for us. If you want lots of sun choose building A. The condo was great, beautiful decor. Did a lot of our own cooking, plan ahead if you want to use outside grill, it stays pretty busy. Pool was nice, always clean. The only down side to entire vacation was the beach shore was eroding away. We still walked on the beach but had to go to neighboring resort. If we ever come back to Maui this place is where we will stay. |

Stayed for 15 days in November, 2010 We have enjoyed this property over the years and this unit is fabulous. My only issue is the full time resident attitudes toward children in the pool area. While everyone can understand that no one wants to hear screaming and the property has house rules which prohibit Marco polo type games in the pool area, when children are laughing in the pool and told they are too loud by an owner who took the time to print out and highlight the house rules and personally come to the pool area to deliver the copy and tell the children they can not laugh as she finds it disturbing, I question whether this property should rent to families. The hoa needs to make a decision on whether they want children at the property or even make units available to vacationers. The laughter was no louder than adults laughing and socializing around the BBQ in the evenings or the get togethers on lanais that are common occurrence. And this was in the middle of the day. Perhaps the hoa should purchase a decibal reader on the pool deck so that the rules are applied fairly to all guests and not just the children. |

We reported this to the front desk but all she had to say was that's the way it is on Maui. Strange how we could access internet from building A (but with a very poor signal that would drop us after a time). Also, McDonalds up the street had no problems. All it would have taken is for someone to reboot the router. Of course there was no one there to to that. Very Frustrating! |

Maui is our favorite island and we have stayed at Hololani twice in the past 3 years. Prior to staying at the Holoani we had good and bad experiences in where we stayed. The Hololani is beyond good and we rate it an excellent place to stay. We no longer book places sight unseen and wonder what we will be getting into. We have already booked for 2010 and the Hololani will be our only Hawaii choice from now on. |

The large sliding glass doors have been replaced. In this unit, one of the bedrooms does not have a door and all the other bathroom/bedroom doors are closet type doors with louvers. This is good for airflow, but bad for privacy and noise.You can really hear the ocean waves at night which may be good or bad depending if you are a light sleeper.The office and cleaning staff seemed top notch and were helpful when needed.The view was great! The pool was very well maintained and heated. The beach was ok, but not the type of beach you want to spend a lot of time on.Overall, I would stay here again. A little more privacy in the bedrooms is the only upgrade this unit needs. |
