Twain Harte has a lot of rules! Rory H. from Ojai, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2012 The house was nice but the airconditioner did not work. Was over 100 degrees. Some boards loose on the deck could be a hazard. Lake privaledges means you get the privaledge to pay $5 a person a day to sit go to the lake and only bring in water. No picnics allowed. We had rented two houses and had 20 people, that can add up quick with unexpected costs just to use the lake. We had to leave the lake to have lunch if we did not want to buy the overpriced food at the snack bar. All of this was only told to us after we had paid the final payment and everyones plans were set. |

I don't think the kitchen floor had been mopped. The ants have invaded the smoke alarm upstairs. |

Upon checking out, I did mention the following items that should be addressed at the cabin:1. The upper oven does not work2. There are a few broken windows - one upstairs in the loft over looking the porch and another in the bedroom on the main floor. I think there is another cracked window but I can't recall it's location.3. The kitchen had ants - ant traps and/or spray would be a good idea to keep under the kitchen sink. 4. One recommendation is to have an extra one or two box fans as there was only one fan at the cabin to use and it got a little warm. |

TH Vacation Rentals Stay KC R. from Redondo Beach, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2008 It is very inconvenient that towels and sheets are not provided for guests. We have two small children, and we travel frequently, and we always stay in a house/condo rental instead of a hotel for the convenience of having appliances and more of a "home" feeling. This is the first time we have been responsible for bringing our own linens and towels. TH Vacation rental's customer service skills could use some help. I had to send emails to get my confirmation/invoice/payment information. because nothing was initially sent other than confirmation that a reservation was made online. When we arrived and realized that we were responsible for bring our own towels and linens, the staff was less than friendly and responded by telling me I should have looked at the website. Obviously there is something missing on their end as far giving detail to their customers; perhaps a packet sent in the mail or a phone call ahead of time. I don't think this is too much to ask for the amount of money they charge to stay in the cabins.After we arrived at the cabin, I noticed my 10 month old baby had something in his mouth. I pulled a dead wasp out of his mouth which he had picked up off the carpet. We then looked around and found wasps and other dead insects all around the perimeter of the living room. The cabin could not have been cleaned before our arrival since the bugs all looked like they had been dead for quite a while.Needless to say, although my family had a nice time in Twain Harte, we were disappointed by the experience with our accomodations. |

We had real quality time with the family and everyone had a blast at the property. It was so good that we ended up spending more timat in the cabin than going out and doing other things! This is the 5th time we have been renting from Twain Harte vacation rentals and we sure are going back for more! |
