A guest from San Ramon, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2014 Beautiful cabin. Very clean and well organized. We had a very nice visit. Plenty of room for everyone. Looking forward to our next visit!
Judith P. from UT, 84058 recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2014 We loved our stay and appreciated the added plus of spending some time at the Twain Harte Lake with our extended family. We never saw the grandchildren much until we called them for meals, as they were so busy with ping pong, foose ball and many other games provided. All in all we had a super stay! Our only wish would be that the beautiful home had working air conditioning. We happened to be there during the hottest week of the year, but we managed with the fans that were provided.
A guest from Los Gatos, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2014 The house was well located and had plenty of space. We chose it for the fenced yard for our dog. Usually vrbo is a more personal experience of contact with friendly owners, but this place is through a rental agency so there was less of a welcoming feeling. For example, it was the first time I've done vrbo and had to bring my own sheets and towels. Also had to run out and buy garbage bags, paper towels and some more toilet paper, since there weren't reinforcements for these things.
Heather G. from Livermore, California recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2014 This cabin was beautiful and well-maintained. My only issue was that it was not clean. The carpets and hardwood were quite dirty, and just generally "lived in". That's not necessarily a bad thing, but when I'm getting charged $125 cleaning fee, I expect the place I'm going to be calling home for the next few days clean.
Nili G. from Menlo Park, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2012 Our two families had a great time in Happy Trails! The house is spacious, clean and very well equipped. It is conveniently located near Down Town Twain Harte, and close to the Golf course. We will definitely return to Happy Trails in years to come.
A guest from Phoenix, AZ recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2012 Very enjoyable stay. Nice town with a family feel. We really enjoyed the home and all the things to do there and the lake was wonderful.
Robert C. from Sunnyvale, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in June, 2012 As usual, superb. Very nice upgrades to an already comfortable and appealing cabin. Our doggies, YorkiePoos loved it too, especially barking at the large deer on the other side of the fence. The deer ignored them.
Susan R. from Antioch, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in December, 2011 We have rented through THVR for 10 years now and it has always been a wonderful experience. Keep up the great work!!
Sue Y. from Lancaster, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2011 We vacation with our dogs. A securely fenced yard is a requirement. The backyard worked for our German Shepherd. We did not bring the other 2 dogs, but if we had they would have also been fine. (27 pound terrier mix and a 27 pound spaniel mix) The chain link fencing had no escape routes unless your dog either digs under, jumps over, or is a fence climber. Our other requirement is a washer and dryer. I am not spending any of my vacation time at the laundromat. The free Wifi and cable TV were also appreciated. It was warm/hot there in August with no breeze, but it cooled off nicely at night. We used the portable box fan that was provided. There were only 2 of us plus the dog. If there had been more we might have wished for more fans to be used in different parts of the house. The family room and living room are on opposite ends of the house. This might be advantageous for larger groups with kids and adults. (Be sure to look for the secret door in the family room.)Lots of spices were provided, but many were out of date. This reminded me of my own kitchen. Bring your own if this is important to you. There are quite a few pots and pans. There is a need for replacement frying pans as the stove requires flat bottom pans, and the old frying pans no longer have flat bottoms. The special laundry detergent that is required for the front loading washing machine is provided. We enjoyed the Farmer's Market on Fridays and being able to cook at home. There are at least 2 pet-friendly restaurants. We were able to have dinner on the patio with our dog at the Mexican restaurant. They had a shrimp entree that was wonderful. The only reason I marked 4 stars rather than 5 on cleanliness was because each time I had to retrieve the dog's ball from under or behind the 2 couches it was obvious that no one cleans there. Our entire deposit was returned in one week.Happy Vacationing!
Robert C. from Sunnyvale, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in June, 2011 Two grandparents, two grown up children, their spouses, and four grandchildren. Our third year at Happy Trails, Loved the new fridge, new range and oven. New toaster, toaster oven combo not a good big deal Our two yorkie poos think Happy Trails is another home. Every year, I sit on the patio on the enormously comfortable reclining chairs and am filled with serenity looking at the huge surrounding trees. We will be returning next year. Our only complaint is the $5.00 per person fee at the lake. This is $40/day for our family. We were there 14 days...or $560.00. I know this is not the cabin owners fault, but it still rankles a bit.
Attractive, comfortable, clean and accommodating for anyone. Meets the needs of families with children/pets well..
A guest from Pacifica, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2011 Best place we've stayed at for children and pets. The kitchen is modern, clean and well equipped. Large bathtub and large shower, also. Game room/den is isolated from the rest of the house. Ping pong table was an unexpected surprise. Fenced in yard. Didn't even see the garage until we were ready to leave. A fairly steep driveway, but safe and plenty of parking. Five or six steps to the front door, and almost everything else is on one level. The lake privileges are a must for our family!
A guest from Valley Springs, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2010 The property was not clean when we arrived from the previous guest but maintenance crew arrived shortly and cleaned the premisses. The phone call previously placed to the property rental manager was very promptly returned. We were very satisfied with the response and would rent the property again.
Jana M. from Tracy, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2010 We've stayed in the same cabin for 10 years - although in the past it had a different name, different owners, etc. We've never been disappointed when we are there. It has everything needed for a relaxing vacation. We will be back!
Rhea S. from Los Gatos, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2010 Had a nice stay. Yard and Fence were great for our pet. House was nice and clean, but kitchen could use a few more amenities - refrigerator took a long time to get cold, no coffee grinder, could use more large serving bowls... Also, water pressure was very low throughout cabin. Kids loved the games and ping pong table.
#63 is wonderful, very warm and homey fillled with good vibes
A guest from Orinda, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in November, 2009 This is the best cabin we have stayed in - we love it - have cooked a full thanksgiving dinner there a few times, very well equipped kitchen - love it
Susan A. from Redwood City, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in September, 2009 We had a great getaway. The place, the weather, and the quiet were just what we needed. At the end there was an emergency health issue, but that all came out OK. The only suggestion I would have is better lighting in the living room for reading. I actually moved a lamp from the bunk bed bedroom to the living room so my husband and I had proper light for reading.
Robert C. from Sunnyvale, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in August, 2009 As many as 10 family members at one time for a wonderful time. The lake is so wonderful for the too. Will come back. Property is 1st Class.
A guest from La Selva Beach, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2009 We are hoping to book again soon.....2 families....property was clean and spacious and loved the single story with kids. Nice and quiet too....close to everything. Thanks!
A guest from Los Gatos, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in February, 2009 Very comfortable home, lots of room, dog friendly, well-stocked kitchen. Driveway a little hard to get up, even with chains.
Lori E. from Livermore, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in November, 2008 My parents are in there 80's and the level layout of this cabin was by far the best! We have been coming to Twain Harte for 13 years and this is the one we well stay at for the remainder of my parents lifes and then some.. angain thank you !!!
Susan A. from Redwood, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2008 We had a great time at Black Hawk 63. It was spacious, very clean, well appointed and the yard for the dogs was incredible. The only problem we had was with the hot water heater. We didn't realize that the pilot had been turned to "pilot only" so the heat didn't come on. We found this out with our first shower. My husband found the problem and saved the day. I would suggest including a note with instruction so that people can make this adjustment when they arrive.Thank you to Brenda (I hope that's the right name)for all your help. We'll be back. Susan Allen
A guest from Los Gatos, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2008 We had a great stay. Very comfortable inside, with lots of room for our kids--the playroom is great! Our dog had trouble deciding where to relax, and the fenced yard was a relief. The kitchen was well outfitted, probably the best we've seen in a rental, and we really felt at home with so much room. We had a great time skiing, first time with our kids, and the short drive to Dodge Ridge was very convenient. We love Twain Harte, would definitely stay here again and the people at Twain Harte Vacation Rentals make it all very fast and easy to have a great stay.
