Another wonderful week at Kiawah

My family and I have had the great privilege to visit Kiawah for off and on 30 years. We began when our children were 10 and 15 years old. They were able to be with me this time at the ages of 46 and 38 along with my 12 year old granddaughter. Needless to say there were many memories relived and trail rebiked. Daddy taught daughter to body surf as his Daddy had him. This is our third stay at Shipwatch and is our favorite. The property is always in top condition and the condos are alway perfect. We do appreciate all that the island has to offer and do hope to be able to return again soon.

Unfortunately we spent a lot more time indoors than planned due to poor weather. Thank goodness it was a nice, clean, well-stocked comfortable place and the Olympics were on! We're hoping for better weather next time.

We have spent many lovely back to school vacations at Kiawah Island, this was our first time to stay at Shipwatch. It was like a suite with 2 private bedrooms & a living room kitchen meeting room. Each bedroom had TV's, bed & mattresses were very comfortable. Each bedroom had a private balcony & you could see & hear the oceam. The condo was within walking distance to the Straw Market. The kitchen was furnished with everything you need if you chose to cook you meals. There was ample parking and a very short walk to the beach on the boardwalk. Very nice place to stay especially if your vacationing with another couple or teenagers like our family. I would highly recommend this condo and Pam Harrington is wonderful to book you vacation with.

Good weather saved this year's Kiawah Island vacation. Otherwise, we would have been subjected to the major renovation noise going on all day in the unit directly above us that included circular sawing and nailing of drywall. The odor from we assume the gluing of carpet padding was so strong it seemed toxic and required opening all windows on a day that was very hot. We called PHE on the day we arrived about moving to another unit. We did not call them back after considering their offer as their other available units were far from the beach. They did not follow up that would have been a nice courtesy and showed that they cared. We called them again later in the week about poor reception on two of the televisions and we were told, ?We?ll send someone right over.? No one came over during our stay. This was also a written request included with our 2008 rental contract as we had experienced the problem in 2007. We enjoyed our time at Kiawah Island but we are disappointed with PHE.
