We enjoyed our stay and Annie was super nice and took care of the broken water heater promptly. The res staff was very helpful also. But the place was oversold in my opinion. Yes, you can walk to the beach, but no one mentioned the summer long construction project going on that made the local beach pretty unappealing. The bikes offered were almost unrideable, so that seemed like false advertising about a nice extra. The place was not clean despite the comments in the guest book - we needed to clean the kitchen table, microwave, outdoor furniture, before we could use them. The bed was very saggy and needs replacement. For the price we have stayed in places that are nicer in CA and OR. Disappointed we couldn't negotiate a lowered rate when we were already there and the place would have been empty for the next week. We would have been regulars, returning frequently if this home was more affordable - we don't need much, we could overlook the hippie shack nature of this property, but not at $170-$200 per night. Not sure if this is truly Annie's priceing or marketing or if agreatplacetostay is overselling based on location a mediocre property. Good luck with that. Wondering if you get a lot of first timers and less return customers, or perhaps my expectations were just too high.

Bed spread so old that it is full of small holes from wear. Dirty floor. Shower matt (or rug) was filthy until we washed it. I know it is SC and it is near the beach. It also costs more the $350/night! None of this money goes back to the property upkeep obviously. Hot tube was an absolute joke. About 2 feet deep with ZERO privacy. Do not be fooled by the pictures! There is nothing nice about this place except the location. Property managers were nice on the phone

Very Small; also uncomfortable bed and the air bed did not stay inflated. Hot tub did not stay hot. TV was difficult to operate. Beautiful location and quiet nice neighbors.

My wife and I had a great time staying here. The cottage is cozy but convenient. It's a short walk to the beach. The owner is very friendly and helpful. A great little beach getaway.

Location was good and it's set up well for dogs

The cottage was a great place to stay. The location was good and it's really set up well for dogs. I would suggest some sort of outside lighting as I couldn't leave a porch light on for my son who came in later that night. Also there is no light by the bed so one has to get up out of bed to turn the switch off at the door. Airbed is pretty noisy. I think a rolled-up foam mattress might be better. But those are just some suggestions. I liked it a lot and would stay there again.

Cute little place. Bit smaller than we expected but was great anyway. A couple things you might wanna check that didn't work for us were the coffee grinder and the fan. otherwise we loved it.

If you are a laid back surfer, this place is perfect for you. The surounding community is surfer-ish. Daily, several bare footed, wetsuit clad, surf board carrying warriors walked right past this cottage. A decent surf area is,actually, honestly a 1 to 2 minute walk away. For non surfers like myself, everything was okay. I picked this location hoping to be able to hear the surf, which I could not. The area is on a cliff with the shoreline below, which I guess dampens the sound.Lots of windows and decent sunlight but only one had a screen. I could not open all the windows without my cats escaping and flying insects entering. As a result, it was a tad stuffy. Very small bathroom and shower. Decent sized kitchen with the basics. If you need a whisk or other specifics bring them.A few utensils and cups were not clean. I wish I had brought my own towels but theirs were clean and servicable.Comfy bed/nice sheets. Air matress provided yet in use, doesn't leave enough space to get around. Hottub like big bathtub = no actual seats but hot h2o and lively jets.Pet friendly, lots of pet dogs and cats.Brick patio in back - small. Lots of shopping, dinning and beaches, some walking distance. Basically an actual great/okay place to stay.

pleasure point review

I already sent a n e-mail to reservations letting them know that the comforter on the bed when I got there was covered in dog hair! it was also dry clean only so I could not just pop it in the washer and I saw other stains on it - so it wasn't clean. Also there was hair on the walls in the bathroom so again not clean. For the money, the place should have been spotless. I spent an hour using a lint roller on the comforter and pillows to get it off and still I didn't feel comfortable knowing it wasn't clean. Pleas let the cleaning staff know for future visits. Thank you

Pleasurable Point Beach Stay

Recommend patio furniture on the back patio. Nowhere to sit, but my own little beach chair. Only one chair on the front patio- fine for me, but a couple might want two chairs.
