Our 18th century Olive Mill faces full south across its own valley. The property has 30 acres of hills, ancient woodlands of pines, oak, and laurel, wildflowers (orchids), herbs (thyme, rosemary, mint, lavender, fennel, marjoram), cherries, plums, apricots, figs, and wild asparagus. Olive trees grow by our own river (fishing is possible). The Domain is completely private, but within easy walking distance of the village. The property has been restored to provide three completely independent dwellings, each with its own private pool set well away from the others. Please see web pages for theTower House & the Cottage for more photos of our gardens/river/waterfalls. THE STUDIO is a restoration of the southernmost part of the 18th century olive mill, with direct access to the grounds overlooking our valley and the hills beyond. It is completely private, with its own pool to the west of the property.* The Main Room is 30 meters square, with an impressive stone vaulted ceiling and a west-facing window. It is very comfortably furnished with good quality modern and period furniture, cd player and tv. It is fully-equipped with small refrigerator, electric hob with four elements, micro wave oven, electrical appliances (kettle, toaster, coffee maker), and good quality china, glasses, and cutlery. * The Shower Room faces south, with large shower, basin, water closet. There is also a washing machine, ironing board and iron. * The Grounds immediately surrounding the studio have been landscaped to provide a grassy terrace with dining furniture and wonderful views across the valley leading down to the river. *The private and secluded pool (inground, reinforced concrete, 5.5m diameter) is to the west of the studio, secluded and surrounded by oaks, pine, ash, fig, and cherry trees. It has outstanding views which extend for miles. Kitchen herbs (rosemary, thyme, fennel, and mint) grow abundantly and there are mature fig trees for shade and fruit. We advise a Friday start and end day: travelling is much easier when there are fewer cars on the roads, queues at airports are shorter, delays of all kinds are less frequent, Saturday shopping for the weekend is easier than Sunday shopping, AND fares are much cheaper. BA, BMI, Ryanair & Easyjet flights to Nice/Toulon/Marseille; Eurostar/TGV to Avignon. Direct flights New York-Nice. VISITORS' COMMENTS: Studio: I wanted to tell you how much we enjoyed staying at your Olive Mill. It was such a gorgeous setting - from the arched stone ceiling to the view over the valley to the private pool. It was all that I hoped it would be. It’s always a little scary committing to a place sight unseen, but the Studio lived up - and even surpassed - our expectations.
