Abbadia takes its name from a Benedictine complex of the 10th cent. of which remains only the Church of San Lorenzo, fronting onto the Lake.
This 1-room apartment is situated in the nicest part of the village, separated from the lake by less than 20 meters. Walking from the apartment you immediately find yourself at the little marina of Abbadia Lariana and at the starting point of a pedestrian-only promenade that takes you to the nearby beaches. Within walking distances you’ll find many services including post office, shops, caffès and restaurants.

Guests at La casa di Abbadia get a special pass that allows them to park in the traffic-controlled lake area. By car Abbadia is less than an hour away from Milan, an hour from Bergamo, an hour and a half from St Moritz in Switzerland. The Abbadia Lariana train station serves local trafic, while Lecco train station, 5 km away, serves direct trains to Milan. From June to September a boat service enables you to travel from Abbadia Lariana to the rest of the lake (passengers only, no cars), while the nearest main hub for ferries is in Varenna, just 15 km away on the lake road.
