Nice apt, better with little improvements
A guest from redwood city, california does not recommend this property. Stayed for 6 days in July, 2016 We stayed in this apt for a week during summer time. The apt is as shown in the pics, old style but functional. It's not a 3bd but a 2bd plus a loft room, just plan accordingly in case you need 3real bd.The stove is old and the electric pads don't stay in their space anymore, all the non-stick pans are scratched but there is a good amount of other pots. There is no hairdryer!! The windows shades give you privacy but they don't keep sunlight out of the room in the morning, so the master bedroom and loft-room have plenty of sunlight at 6am. For 2 days we had workers on our balconies from 8am through the day, when i called the property manager the second day he apologized and told them to finish their work after we were gone. It was definitely not nice to have breakfast with them working outside looking at us!Overall it was a nice vacation, the apt is conveniently located, most of the best north shore beaches are less than 30min driving away, safeway is 5 min away.
Gergana P. from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2016 It is a very nice condo in a quiet neighborhood. It easily accommodates two families. Nice bathroom and kitchen. Kids had a lot of fun at the pool and rec center. The cleaning crew could have done a better job in cleaning the bathrooms, comforters, and carpet. Wi-Fi worked pretty well in the whole house.
A guest from oakland, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in February, 2016 Great place- a little cramped for 5 people in the communal space but plenty of sleeping space. Only complaint was the railing on the upstairs loft- very unsafe! We visited with my toddler and the railing not only had huge gaps between the bars that he could easily fit through but it was VERY wobbly and felt unsafe to lean on.
A guest from Clovis, California recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in December, 2015 The location was perfect. We went skiing in Alpine Meadows and Lake Tahoe. We were only in contact with the management company before the stay. It worked well with the lock box. We went to get our parking permit, but no-one was there. The property is old, and old inside. It needs an upgrade. The A/C was noisy and very old. The kitchen was equipped with old utensils, some of them broken. The dining chairs were in bad condition.
Kelly H. from San Francisco, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2015 This is the third year we've stayed at Carnelian Woods. The location is fabulous- walking distance to Lake, Garwoods, Mini Golf. The unit was perfect for 2 couples and First Accommodation is always extremely friendly and helpful.
A guest from red bluff, California recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2015 The condo was comfortable and clean. The area quiet. Enjoyed the beautiful pool and playground. The hot tub was great the only problem was the hours the hot tub was open. The rec room was well kept, nice pool table. The beach was nice but a little rocky. The old post office was a great place to eat although very busy.
Amazing location but Need improvement in Recreation Center.
Esther B. from Sacramento, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2015 The most disappointing part is the recreation center is not what we expected it to be. Pool table does not work right the person who was on the duty had to use the pool Stick to bang the part to be able to get the ball out. game room was all dark no games were on at all. The tv wasn't working properly. Was not happy with the Recreation area. But the house we stayed in was great.. The walking path is amazing. The moment we came in the house was clean and warm like a vacation home. I am pleased with the Location we stayed except the recreation center wish they keep it up and make it more entertaining for the customers with children.
A guest from Pasadena, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2015 A group of 6 of us stayed in this condo in February 2015 to ski at Squaw Valley. The condo was a good size for 6 people. There were two bedroom downstairs, which share a bathroom, the main living area upstairs with a bathroom, and a loft with 3 twin beds. The living area and kitchen were a bit tight, but worked out fine. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed to cook. The beds were moderately comfortable, but not the best I've slept in. The condo was a bit far from Squaw (about 20 minutes driving), but was well located otherwise (near restaurants, supermarket, etc.). Within the condo complex, this unit was a bit far from the recreation center and hot tub though. Additionally, the WiFi was not functional while we were there; they provided us with an alternate network (presumably a neighbor's signal), but the signal wasn't strong enough to reliable connect. Also, cell service was a bit spotty in the unit, so having WiFi would have been nice. The condo also comes with only 2 parking passes, so we had to street park the 3rd car. The place was empty while we were there, and I would have expected them to allow us to park the 3rd car since the parking lot was empty all weekend. Overall, I'd say that there are definitely better options for Tahoe (and Squaw in particular), but for the price, this was a good value.
A guest from Petaluma, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 5 days in August, 2014 The place looks much nicer than it is. There is mildew odor in the place; carpets are worn out and furniture rickety. We were charged for broken items when that did not occur. Furniture was already in poor condition when we came.
A guest from Sacramento, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2011 You shouldn't ask guests to clean the fireplace or tell them that it's unacceptable to leave their last load of dishes in the washer. A physical office where guests can get discount lift tickets would also be nice. It also isn't OK to try and sell travel insurance when the seller knows the buyer won't qualify for the coverage.
A guest from Charlottesville, VA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in December, 2010 Unit was nice, clean. Couldn't get Cell service, and no wi-fi made it a little challenging, esp when the winter storm came through. Property manager was very helpful. Unit was very clean and comfortable. Well stocked kitchen. Could use another TV or two, and decor could use some updating. But, honestly - I'm being picky. We had a very nice stay and it was a nice place for the price.
Kristin S. from huntington beach, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2010 I very much enjoyed my stay that was arranged through First Accomodations! Trent helped me from booking the reservation up to adding an additional night stay with no problems. I highly recommend them to friends and will most likely use them again to arrange my next trip!
Monique D. from East Palo Alto, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in January, 2010 I have been coming to this vacation spot for more than 10 yrs now, everytime is better and better. We have tried another spot in the beginning, however, the view and comfort of still feeling at home away from home drew us to Carnelian Woods more and more. Just the thought that not only do we enjoy this place but our kids love this place is more than words can say for us. Every year we look forward to coming here to enjoy and celebrate in the snow. I am always relaxed and this is the best place to do that at. If you want to have a peace of mind, relaxation, or just a cool place to stay, Totally recommend staying at the Carnelian Woods!!
A guest from Agoura Hills, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in December, 2009 We moved from unit #16 to #74 in order to extend our stay and were a bit disappointed. It was not as nice as we had expected.
Erin K. from Modesto, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2009 Only issue was a neighbor doing construcion on their unit at 10 pm at night with a pneumatic nail gun. They were nice about stopping when we went over and asked them to.
Renae T. from Sulphur Springs, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2008 There were only two things we were not happy about.1. There was no grill even though it said there would be one.2. The recreation center was not open late enough for us to use when we got back to the property after our daily activities. The pool closed at 7 pm each night.Renae Thomas
David G. from Davis, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2007 Nice property. We were only there a few days and left the property spotless as usual. However, felt management and other fees, ie, cleaning, liability fees excessive.
