Our Tahoe trip was amazing!
A guest from Phoenix, AZ recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in July, 2016 This was our 2nd time staying here. This time was quite an improvement. They did a very nice remodel of the kitchen that has all you need. We loved being in the woods, so nice to get up in the morning and have a coffee and read on the deck, so peaceful. Very short walk to the beach. You could get a drink, breakfast, lunch, rent a kayak, paddleboard, etc. would definitely stay here again. We miss it so much already!
Reviewed by: Anna M. recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2016 It was the perfect place for us. The location was great and the space was well stocked and cozy. We loved having a full kitchen and little back deck. We were walking distance to the lake and loved the part of Tahoe we were close to, we will stay here again, no question!
Reviewed by: Anurag D. recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in March, 2016 I had an amazing time staying at Trent's place in Carnelian Woods. The house is well maintained and is perfect for a getaway at Lake Tahoe. I felt like I was at home during my week long stay here. All the appliances are brand new and work as intended. The location is perfect as its nestled between woods and offers an excellent view. The house looks even better when you visit it. Trent was very responsive and made sure there wasn't any problem during the stay. I would definitely like to visit the place again and stay at the property. I recommend it to everybody visiting Lake Tahoe area.
Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in February, 2016 Great spot! Easily accessible from main road around lake. Stayed here for a skiing weekend and was very convienent to Squaw and Northstar. Loft was as described and Trent was very communicative. He even offered suggestions of alternate properties to better accommodate us. Check in and check out were simple and instructions were indicated in a detailed welcome packet.
Reviewed by: David B. recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in February, 2016 The condo was the perfect place to call home while skiing in Lake Tahoe. It was cozy, clean, and had everything we needed. Would come back again!
A guest from Fort Bragg, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in January, 2016 The condo was the perfect way to enjoy Tahoe. The place has been updated, aside from the bathrooms, but, there is a Toto toilet, and if you own one then you know how sweet they are. We were totally cozy with the heater and fire in the fire place and was awesome to have the nice kitchen to cook breakfast in. I didn't get the bed, but the pull out bed in the coach was actually comfortable. Plenty of towels and linens, blankets etc etc. Would totally rent this one again and would highly recommend.
A guest from West Hills, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2015 This is a studio loft unit, not a 1 bedroom as advertised. But the condition is almost absolutely perfect. Everything is new, extremely clean. They have the most comfortable sofabed i ever slept on. Management company is weird, they charge a damage deposit months in advance, hold on to it for a while, and have a few pages of rules that i never saw in other places we stayed. If you can put up with them, you will for sure enjoy your stay.
John S. from La Mesa, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2015 We stayed in unit #28 8/24 - 8/26. Overall it was great. The place was clean and well kept. A few things were not working. The blinds down stairs were a mess and non functioning. We could not get the cable service to work in the upstairs bedroom. The temperature was fine but in the instructions it said to turn down the temp to 60 degrees when we left but upon pushing the control buttons I could not move it at all. It was at a constant 71 degrees.
Angela C. from Hesperia, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2015 This property was great for me and my 2 was very clean and upgraded we had enough room. The only thing that was wrong was when we got there the towel rack came out of the wall.We got in late so the next morning I called the property management to report it they were very Nice and said they would take care of it. I definitely would go thru first accommodations again.
Charmaine S. from Placerville, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2015 We loved the place we stayed in! It is located walking distance from restaurants and the beach. The manager was extremely friendly and helpful on our check out. We will definitely stay here again!
A guest from Fargo, ND recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2015 This was our 4th family vacation to Carnelian Bay. Our adult daughter and her boyfriend traveled from the East Coast to join us for our traditional family gathering. While we stayed in a larger condo on the premises with other family members, they enjoyed this quiet, well-equipped, clean, and updated condo that was tucked into the woods. They enjoyed the amenities of the Carnelian Bay resort with a beautiful pool, ping-pong, tennis courts, bocce ball and basketball court. They shared that the resort staff were very friendly and helpful. They enjoyed kayaking in the early morning hours on the lake, hiking on several nature trails and picnicking at King?s Beach. They are avid cooks and found the kitchen to be well-stocked with pots, pans, and dishes. They did mention that the dish washer is a little dated. All in all, the condo was a wonderful vacation destination. My daughter and I highly recommend this vacation rental.
A guest from Vancouver, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in May, 2015 Clean condo, with updated kitchen. We enjoyed the private location, especially on the back deck. Nice bare floors, large screen tv, perfect for a couple or small family.
A guest from San Marcos, Texas recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in May, 2015 We enjoyed out stay. The condo was very clean and worked well enough for us. The reason for the 4 stars instead of a 5 star is a few things didn't work. The toaster had a bad smell when it was used, the upstairs TV didn't seem to work. We were hot upstairs but we opened a window and thank goodness they had a fan which was great! The bathroom could use some updating upstairs and the fan stays on the entire time you are in there, the 1 light switch turns on the bright light and fan at the same time so you can't talk to anyone or hear anything while you are getting ready. The entire downstairs and kitchen was very nice and updated. We would stay there again.
Sebastian E. from Novato, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2015 Sweet little apartment in a complex, and very conveniently located on the north shore right on the Cali/Nevada border, very close to the lake.
A guest from Long Island City, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2015 The apartment looks a lot newer in the picture than in person, but it's still a great location and condo. The kitchen had everything needed, easy to grab the keys, and little needed to check out when leaving. The only complaint was that we don't think the sheets were washed in the bed we stayed in.
A guest from Houston, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2015 We really enjoyed the unit. Very cozy and comfortable. Had a remote feel yet still close to the area activities. Couldn't get cell service in the unit but it turned out to be a good thing.
Tiera C. from Waipahu, HI recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2015 I am pleased to write a review for this location. All the information provided on the listing was very accurate. I initially chose this location for the reasonable price and slightly modern feel. The price was very fair for the space and amenities provided. It was about 20-30 minutes away from Northstar but the drive did not feel long because of the nice views. I appreciated that the space was very clean for our family of 4. It felt like home away from home because it was very cozy and I like my home tidy. I also chose this location because of the amenities such as a laundry and a kitchen. These items help with kids. The only disappointing item is that the kids were looking forward to a jacuzzi but we did not want to travel to the community center for this. Overall, I recommend this to others as this location is worth the price!
Reviewed by: Ilya N. recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in December, 2014 We've stayed there for a 4 nights and it was super nice. Quite location, nice view and you won;t see anybody (or just occasionally meet someone around . What else you need to escape from busy big city life?).I read in comments about wi-fi issue, but it wasn't true, wifi was super fast. The only issue we had during stay - whether was pretty cold - around 15 in the night and heater turns every 20-30 minutes and it is quite noisy. Apart from that everything was nice.
A guest from santa clara, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2014 The unit was very clean and confortable. The kitchen and bedroom furnitures were very neat as well. One thing I felt little short was heating fan noise. It was bothering whole night whenever it went on and off. Except the fan, I can highly recommend to my friends this unit.
Sebastien T. from Boucherville, Quebec recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2014 OMG, what a beautifull site. It was simply perfect. The location was almost perfect cause we had to go back and forth from kings beach to Squaw Valley, but still. Thank you for this wonderfull place to stay. one thing and because i'm not that kind of person that complains a lot. but the pool and and the spa should have been open still, and because it's the IM competition, of course people will use the pool and spa to train and relax before the event. please consider.
Anthony C. from San Jose, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2014 The location was good, the check in was very straight forward, and the place was clean. The only downside is that the jacuzzi is located right next to the main office so it's a little weird having people in the office just watching you while you are in the jacuzzi. They are literally no more than 3 feet away separated by a window. If you are not planning to swim, then this is the place for you! The rec center can be more updated with their games as well. Again, if you dont plan on using the rec center, this place would be perfect!
Bin L. from Santa Clara, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2014 Nice and clean, plenty of space.Excellent kitchen equipment for cooking.Convenient parking.Reasonable distance to lake beaches, Safeway and 7-11.
Cynthia B. from Phelan, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in April, 2014 this unit was beautiful! The rental company is supper nice and easy to work with. we would love to return here in the future.
Jim C. from Bandon, OR does not recommend this property. Stayed for 6 days in September, 2011 Plumbing problems that never did get fixed. The sheets that were on the bed when we arrived were so old and ruff that my wife couldn't sleep on them. We were glad there was better sheets in the closet to use instead. The barbecue grill was so dirty from the last people that we didn't use it.
Marc B. from Chico, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2011 Over all we had a great time! The kitchen was smaller than expected. The shower head was too low for anyone over 5'3". Appliances were out dated and the coffee pot was too small. But for the time we spent in the Condo it was worth it! Wish the hot tub and pool time closings were extended. We would love to stay again.
Harold S. C. from Green Valley, AZ does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2011 This was out first time to visit Lake Tahoe. The location of the condo was good: quiet and walking distance to the lake. The area is rustic and the pool was the one bright spot. We were dismayed to find the condo was of 1970s/80s vintage, hence the "historic" designation. The stove was similar to one we had 30 years ago; we were afraid to stay in the kitchen while using the microwave; the furniture had to have come from the owner's home or a thrift shop; the tv in the bedroom was missing and the one in the lroom had 12 channels; the area rug and throw rugs were heavily stained (we put them in a corner so as not to step on them. I could go on and on...but won'tAll in all, we won't stay again in this ancient site!!!
Melissa S. from Phoenix, AZ recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2011 We really enjoyed Lake Tahoe and Carnelian Bay was a good centralized choice. I enjoyed the condo. My complaints would be that the appliances are extremely old! (fridge, oven, microwave) They don't cost much to replace. Also, the shower was made for short people. My husband is approx 6 ft and I am 5'8. We had to squat in the shower to get down low enough to wash our hair! Good note: comfy bed, liked the peacefulness of the woods, balcony was great for relaxing!
A guest from UKIAH, California does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2011 The house was dirty for what we expected for the price. All the appliances have been there since the 1950's. It took 3 hours and 2 cycles to dry a load of laundry. The spa was barely open and it was one of the main reasons for booking the condo. Please list the hours of operation on your web site.
A guest from Minden, NV recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2011 Conveniently located to Alpine Meadows and North Star. Nice hot tubs at the recreating center. Condo is well equipped for drying wet ski clothing and cooking meals.
Glen N. from Santa Rosa, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2010 alot of lights did not work and pull out bed had yellow stains. Fire place can't be cleaned if ash is still hot.
Ana F. from Roseville, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2010 The unit was beautiful and clean but I would have to say that the biggest treat was working with the property manager. We were in touch well before my stay, during and after. Very accomodating, profession yet extremely friendly. Thank you! I was planning the next stay before I even left.
Elizabeth M. from Maplewood, NJ recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2010 upside: the place was well located and the clubhouse well appointed with nice hottubs. The manager was kind & helpful. downside: the condo had a giant unrepaired hole in the downstairs bathroom that leaked, and the place was a little stuffy/moldy and hadn't been updated at all since it was built.
Property Manager Response: Response from First Accommodations The property's ceiling was repaired and new floors have been installed. New pictures coming soon.
A guest from Mobile, Alabama does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2010 The decor in this unit is 1970ish junk. The stove, fridge & micro wave are inadequate. The ceiling fan in the bathroom has no grill and the ceiling is held together with tape. Hot water always ran out with only 2 people taking showers. Would never stay here again.
Natalia M. from madrid, spain does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2010 The location is ok although you need a car to get anywhere. Old furniture and bedsheets, not a very nice building, air conditioned not working (so it was quite hot at night) and a very small terrace. I think it's too expensive (150 dollars per night) for what you get.Very disapointing!
A guest from Saratoga, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2010 Downstairs bathroom in a state of disrepair. Water damage in ceiling. Fan uncovered. Linoleum and carpet floors are very dated. Unit 28 needs some repair and updating and should not be rented in its current state.
Property Manager Response: Response from First Accommodations We agree. We've been working with the owners about the items mentioned and they are finally doing something about it. New flooring will be installed and the bathroom fan will be replaced immediately.
Dean G. from Simsbury, CT recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in February, 2010 The place is cozy and nice for one or two people. However, it's time to spend a little money and upgrade it from the early 80's. The downstairs bathroom fan cover fell off on my son's head. Some new furnishings and a few more pictures on the wall would be nice. Place is very private and view of woods is very nice.
A guest from Piedmont, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in February, 2010 The location and condo association services (hot tub, rec ctr) were fine. The unit was extremely dated, old rug and furniture. Needs updating.
A guest from Oak Park, Illinois recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in January, 2010 Everything ended up working out just great, although when the shower was used, the 1st floor bathroom ceiling leaked.
Jessica S. from Fairfax, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in November, 2009 The only thing that we found frustrating was the difficulty in getting a parking pass, that it turned out we really didn't need.We ended up just putting a note on our car, but it was kind of a pain walking over there a couple times to no avail.thanks!jessica and ryan
Property Manager Response: Response from First Accommodations Unfortunately, the HOA, who provides the parking passes, does not staff a full crew during the fall.
Don S. from San Anselmo, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2009 Checkout time was too early, and didn't know I needed a parking pass.
Property Manager Response: Response from First Accommodations Customer confirmed receipt of all confirmation documents (before arrival), which included information regarding check in/out times (including flexibility of times) as well as parking pass information.
A guest from sacramento, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2009 no name, general condition was "run down" not all lights worked, fans were noisy, check in location signage almost non existant
Property Manager Response:
This property is listed as a 1 star property (out of 5 stars). We were not aware of the lights and would have addressed the issue during their stay had they phoned. The customer checked in directly to the property and had explicit instructions where everything is located including a map.
Glenn D. from Saratoga, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2009 Nice setting for condo. We have stayed at this location about 10 times over the years. Our unit was very basic and reflected the 70s decor. Master bedroom toiled had not been cleaned properly. Will return in future because of location and convenience.
James or Carol B. from West Nyack, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2008 I also rented propery CW023. the only thing I think could be better was having an extra roll of toilet paper and some tissues to start in condo. basically they were clean and updated and we did enjoy our stay.
A guest from Santa Rosa, Ca. does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2008 Great location, nice property. I thought it might be a lot more appealing if the place was up-dated. The bed skirt in the upper "master" was ripped, the bed linens and blankets were very old looking. The couch was very well used as was the other furniture in the unit. Other wise I loved the walking / running trail. The pool was fun too.
I would not recommend unit 28, atleast till they fix major issues.
David B. from San Ramon, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2008 The issues that I have are with Unit 28, NOT First Accommodations. The unit is in dire need of repair, for example there is a light in the closet that is missing and the wires are exposed with no caps on them, very dangerous; the ceiling in the downstairs bathroom is falling down, the upstairs bathroom needs repair also. When you go to sleep the house creaks and pops all night long, so if you are a light sleeper you will be kept awake. The last issue that I had which is no big deal is that nothing in the kitchen matched, the silverware was a mix of at least 5 sets, the plates look to be whatever they could find. In conclusion, if you are looking for a bargain this is the place but just remember you are definitely getting what you pay for in the of case this unit.
Geoff B. from Solana Beach, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2008 This is the second time we booked a vacation rental. Our previous experience was in south lake area. I think our main "less than positive" comment was the fact that the unit we stayed in seemed to be a lot "older" in side, than our previous experience. Other then that our experience met expectations. I would probably recommend to a freind to try a different location so we could exchange notes and get a better idea of what we our expectations should be.
Jane D. from Santa Clara, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in February, 2008 We enjoyed the stay as usual. This is about the 12th year we have been to these properties. Thanks, Jane Diaz and family
Richard R. from San Francisco, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2008 very helpful staff, nice place, very helpful with last minute rental, super close to the mountains, hope to get up there again this season or next
Arthur W. from Beaumont, California recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2007 Although not a 4-star hotel, this condo was cozy and comfortable with everything we needed. The location was outstanding, right across the street from the lake shore, and easy walking distance to restaurants. We loved sitting on the balcony for breakfast, watching the birds and squirrels in the woods.
