sandra m. from vashon, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in May, 2016 We love the location! Awesome views of ocean, Ball hai & sunsets. The condos could use some updating especially the lock box system at front door (easily could be broken into) but overall the condo provides everything we need; fully equipped kitchen & washer & dryer a plus! We've been returning to these condos for 10 years now.
John O. from Manitou Springs, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in April, 2016 Great location. The unit could use an update and some paint. But I look and notice things like nail holes in walls. We would stay here again.
A guest from Palmer, AK recommends this property. Stayed for 26 days in March, 2016 A beautiful location, and wonderful place to wake up to, and to watch the sun set. The condo was a bit dated, but it was clean and had all the amenities. Loved having a washer/dryer. Would stay there again, although I do prefer an upper floor level. ReMax employees Angela and Pat were very responsive to any concerns I had, and took care of them to my complete satisfaction. Sunsets were magnificent; close proximity to ocean and surfing, snorkeling. Great place!
A guest from Eugene, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 15 days in February, 2016 Condo was perfect, great location, clean, amply furnished....all around GREAT!! One small drawback, a family with two very active children were above us and the noise was disturbing at times (they ran races from one end of condo to the other and moved furniture way too often),
ming t. from Brooklyn, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in January, 2016 A really cozy place with an amazing view. The full kitchen was a plus. It made us feel at home. Now the bad.I gave 2 stars for the check in/out process only. Its my fault i didnt thoroughly read the the times its an unusual 3pm checkin and 10am checkout. I'm warning you now because the cleaning lady will give you grief if you show up early. On our checkout we were 4mins late and already packed. We planned to came back sooner and get a shower before our flight but, got a little sidetracked as we were out surfing with Laird Hamilton in the bay. How they say? "i not late i on hawaiian time". Anyway, we were out of there in minutes and helped her with the trash and laundry to get her 4mins back. Man was she grumpy storming around scolding us. Dont let this mar your perfect vacation heed the times. Also, dont be scared by the pair of geese(nene) that like to hangout they are friendly.
Property Manager Response: Response from RE/MAX Kauai Aloha and Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your recent stay. We are so glad to hear how much you enjoyed Pali Ke Kua #108.
I am very sorry to hear about the unacceptable situation during your check out process. Rest assured it was addressed immediately. Nothing is perfect but we work hard to make each stay nothing short of amazing.
If you should choose to visit Kauai again in the future I would like to invite you back so that we may have the opportunity to make it up to you.
A guest from SAN DIEGO, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in October, 2015 Perfect location. Quick walk down to a wonderful little beach which was great for snorkeling, lots of turtles! And surfing if the swell is right. Everything you needed for cooking, nothing fancy but the essentials are there. Even had a little cooler and beach towels. Maybe could use a barbecue on the patio. Everything very clean and comfortable. Highly recommend. Was absolutely perfect for us.
Property Manager Response: Response from RE/MAX Kauai Thank you for writing such a nice review regarding your recent stay at Pali Ke Kua #108. The team works very hard to exceed each guest?s expectations and it is a true pleasure to hear how much you enjoyed yourself!
Unfortunately, the association issued a ban on barbecues due to the potential hazard.
A guest from Kihei, HI recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in October, 2015 The views and location are superb, with the added bonus of having the rare nene (Hawaiian goose) visits every morning. This unit is listed for sale, and it shows signs of being a long term vacation rental property. However, it is a very comfortable home away from home, well-equipped and roomy enough for three people during a 5-day stay. The bathroom can only be accessed by going through the bedroom so it's a little awkward. Its location in Princeville is prime.
Property Manager Response: Response from RE/MAX Kauai Aloha and Thank you for taking the time to write about your recent stay at Pali Ke Kua #108. We are so pleased to hear how much you enjoyed the property, and location.
MaryBeth P. from Gilbert, AZ does not recommend this property. Stayed for 10 days in September, 2015 Started off with poor directions to find the place, the place had lots of bugs in it, the laminate was peeling off and would catch each time you walked buy, the cabinets in the kitchen had tons of grease built up on it & the refrigerator froze my expensive produce. The bathroom was very old with lots of cracked tiles and dirt on the floor. The ironing board was so bad it wasn't useable and when I contacted the rental company they didn't replace it. It took them 4 or 5 days to replace the stolen chairs off the lani and then they only replaced one. The unit would benefit from a second portable fan as ceiling fans do t provide any relief from the warm air. There are a lot other nicer units to rent.
Property Manager Response: Response from RE/MAX Kauai Aloha MaryBeth,
Trust you enjoyed some fun adventures and sights on this Garden Island of Kauai. Thank you for your recent review on this property as it assists us in knowing where to address areas in the condo. We apologize you experienced some pesky bugs in this tropical climate and cleaning discrepancies which has been already addressed. Management is in the process of persuading the owner to update his condo. We trust this didn't take away from enjoying the beauty of this place called The Garden Island. Should you decide to return and give us another opportunity to provide you with great services, we would like to extend a 10% discount on your next stay with us.
A guest from Framingham, MA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2015 Marvelous! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The view from our condo was spectacular and we used the path to the beach daily. We also enjoyed the restaurant and pool.
Great location, beautiful view, a little worn down but that's ok
Sarah H. from Washington, DC recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2015 The condo is in a great location-- 15 min from Hanalei, 5 min from grocery, restaurants, and great ice cream-- easily accessible, and it has wifi (which you need since cell phones don't appear to work in the condo). The view is unbeatable. Really, it's stunning. The condo itself is fine but worn down. The countertops are peeling a bit, the bathroom shower is kinda old and worn (it would be hard to get into for anyone with any mobility issues), the toilet runs a bit, etc., but it's a less expensive unit and that makes up for it for me. It's minimally stocked with paper products, soap, detergent for the washing machine, etc, which is nice. Had pizza one night from Hideaways and it was good (tasted even better when brought back to the condo and eaten while watching the sunset).
Lori H. from Redwood City, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2015 I have stayed at a number of properties in Princeville and Pali Ke Kua is definitely my favorite. The location is perfect, the views are great and this unit was easy to access.
Nagesh P. from The Colony, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in May, 2015 The condo is located in a beautiful Princeville area. The views from the room were stunning. Enjoyed the overall stay!
Gary A. from Novato, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in May, 2015 This condo while being rather dated was more than acceptable. Please be aware that you need to take a walk to get most cell phone coverage. Remax was the management company and they were very friendly but not very helpful. First off their Princeville office phone number was not working and when they were reached it was an adventure to get through to someone and it always required a return call. We didn't go to watch TV but an instruction sheet on operating the TV would have been useful. We enjoyed a coastal hike plus an exciting helicopter ride over the island. Lots of great restaurants in Hanalei.
A guest from Telluride, CO does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in May, 2015 The location of the property was why it was chosen; the views were good. The condition of the unit is tired and could use updating and new bed linens. The unit was not very clean, specifically the restroom, and floors throughout. The least desirable thing about condo rentals is that the maintenance crew starts early, 8 am with lots of powered equipment. Which means you cannot even sit outside and enjoy the beauty, or breakfast, without the constant noise intrusion. While we wouldn't stay in this unit again, we would consider another one, hopefully better maintained and cleaned.
alan b. from Lakewood, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in January, 2015 Great view of the ocean and the Hanalei headlands although the latter is partly eclipsed by the building next door. Comfortable condo with good layout and large bathroom. Functional kitchen although the cabinets could use some upgrading. Several of the cabinet doors wouldn't stay closed and the cabinet fronts were a bit grungy and could use a good cleaning. Also some of the dishes needed washing before using but that's probably a good idea in any of these places.
Reviewed by: A guest does not recommend this property. Stayed for 1 days in January, 2015 The first morning we discovered that the unit next door was being completely remodeled. we contacted Remax and they remedied the situation right away!
Verity B. from vancouver, BC does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in October, 2014 The place looks very close to the photos provided, a good sized apartment with a beautiful sunset. The beach access is to a very small, rocky beach not great for swimming. Princeville itself lacks in charm - it is just a series of resort compounds, and doesn't have access to a good beach. You need to drive approximately 10 minutes to get to Hanalei town and their beautiful bay beach. Also, the pool and hot tub weren't actually working when we got there which was a real bummer because that is a big reason we chose this condo. I would recommend staying in Hanalei proper as it has more charm than Princeville, and you'll be right by the beach.
Carol P. from ORINDA, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in October, 2014 Location is the best attribute of this oceanfront condo. Views are exquisite all day. The grounds are beautifully maintained. The unit itself is a bit worn but more than acceptable with a full kitchen, beach accessories, and washer dryer.
Good, but not great - no A/C, and the afternoons were HOT
A guest from Sterling, VA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2014 There was no Air Conditioning in the unit, and the afternoon sun made the unit uncomfortably HOT. I am disappointed in REMAX for not disclosing this in the condo description.
Todd E. from Edmond, OK recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2014 Great location with stunning views. We would definitely go back. Unit was clean and well maintained with great access to Hanalei only minutes away. Loved it.
Great spot on the island and a very good place to stay.
A guest from Surrey, British Columbia recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2014 Pros:-The location is amazing. You can't beat the sunsets and views of the water and the bay. -The Condo is full of everything you need-The complex is great. Nice pool, access to a decent beach-The north shore of the island is amazing and this place has central access to all the amazing beaches -the parking was close and convenient-The deck is nice. You are close to the path to the beach so you get a few people walking by but nothing that feels invasive of your privacy-you aren't in Hawaii to watch TV but it was nice to haveCons-The bed is a bit .... firm-The condo is a little dated but really nothing that diminishes your vacation-The bathroom light is a bit tricky to navigateWe had a great stay especially considering we booked it last minute. Everything was clean and the communication through email, phone and notes left in the unit were helpful and organized. My wife and I brought our 18 month old who we brought a play pen for. There was enough room in the bedroom for the pen. The living room has some nice guide books and the view is really unbeatable especially for a ground floor unit. Well priced for what you get.
A guest from San Francisco, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in May, 2014 I will stay here again. You should, too. The bathroom lights were a little fidgety (sometimes you had to turn on the switch several times before the lights fired up and turned on correctly), but everything else was great.
Virginia B. from Ladysmith, BC recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in January, 2014 We like our location , good view, easy access and close to other friends . Overall it was well equipped kitchen and unit. I was assured it had a bathtub . it is a tiles
A guest from Woodland, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in May, 2013 Bathroom messy, pubic hairs, stained & mildewed tiles in shower stall.2 of 4 dining chairs had their bottoms broken down.Insufficient glassware. Broken cabinet doors. Draperies sorely in need of cleaning. Intrusive environmental lighting. It was an astoundingly beautiful location with very accessible beach and a stunning view across the mouth of Hanalei Bay. Just wish a little more attention had been paid to housekeeping details.
William K. from Calabasas, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2013 The property and condo are fine/met expectations. Being a condo owner, I see several of your additional fees as a rip off.
A guest from Dundee, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in February, 2013 Shower mildewed. Gifts from our children were in the unit, but unidentified. Attempts to call local Remax only w electronic response.
A guest from Ashland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in May, 2012 The title says it all. Another plus is the very nice pool & hot tub. Only minor inconveniences: Not enough information as to how much clean-up was expected of us at end of stay. It would be nice to have a plan of the complex so as to know where to empty garbage, etc. We'd definitely stay here again.
A guest from Juneau, AK recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in March, 2012 This statement is confidential. Please forward this msg to the owner of #108. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would like to purchase #108, but are concern re: the land tenure situation. Please let us know how we may purchase #108 with fee simple title to the land. Thank you.
Rodgers J. from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 31 days in January, 2012 Much prefered # 118 on our last visit. #108 had no reading lighting or side table in bedroom or living room and no local internet connection
Sherman E. from Seattle, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in December, 2009 You can't beat the location of this place - magnificent views of the ocean, easy access to the beach and eating establishments, and comfortable all around. This place is a keeper!
We had originally reserved #118 but got bumped as the owners decided to use the property over our selected dates. The views at
Debra D. from Sedona, AZ recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in November, 2009 The couch smelled musty. The bathroom light was burned out and we called but it kept going off and on so we assumed it didn't get fixed. I thought Pali Ke Kua was a beautiful property. I would have just preferred to stay in #118 where we had our booking originally.
Charlene C. from Sunriver, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in November, 2009 This was our first visit to Kauai after visiting the other islands several times. I think we would stay on the dry side of the island next time. The north shore is beautiful, but very wet.
Dennis S. from Dickinson, ND recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in September, 2009 Other than a few maintenance issues we loved the unit. Garbage disposal was not working and the other appliances are in need of repair or updating. But the location of the unit and the view was outstanding. Thank you!!
Tammera F. from Lindsay, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in April, 2009 The living room furniture was not very comfortable. Very nice quality linens including beach towels. TV for the bedroom would be a nice extra
A guest from Tewksbury, MA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in February, 2009 This condo worked perfect for us and it was perfect in every way. My only regret is we couldn't stay forever. It was more than I expected
Kathleen C. from Lake Tapps, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2008 The reservation and check in process was very quick and easy. I got pretty much what I was expecting. The bathroom wasn't as nice as it could have been and the bedroom was small. With the crib in it, we couldn't even get to the closet. Overall though, we were happy with the condo, location and ReMax service.
Patricia B. from Healdsburg, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in May, 2008 WE had a wonderful visit at PKK #108. The views, the location, the extras (snorkle, towels, condiments, etc.) Couldn't have had a more relaxing, enjoyable time. We'll be BACK!! Mahalo.
