A guest from Lakeland, FLORIDA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2016 Great place to just unwind from day to day life.
Janice M. from Cape Haze, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2016 Palm Island was a quiet, cozy place to stay. The restaurants served very good food; the view from our villa was spectacular; the sunsets were beautiful; the pool was comfortable; the gulf waters were soothing.
A guest from St Cloud, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2016 our villa was very nice and clean, enjoyed Rum Bay restaurant, felt like we had a private beach. enjoyed the wildlife boat charter, exercising in the weight room, and biking around the resort. Golf cart rental was great (it was included in our rental package) took a cart ride every evening, watched the sun set over the gulf. I highly recommend Palm Island Resort if you are looking for a laid back relaxing vacation.
Robert F. from Placida, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in May, 2016 Great Place to stay! Enjoyed view from deck!Best place we have ever stayed with "Tan".The Staff was very friendly!Enjoyed the (2) restaurants and boat ride & ferry!
A guest from Schaumburg, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in December, 2015 We'd been to the island many times, and had visited Coconuts and Rum Bay, but had never stayed on the property. Since it was just the two of us we rented a 1-bedroom gulf view and were extremely happy with our choice. Aside from the wonderful weather and ambiance of the island, the staff was pleasant and very helpful and the accommodations were everything we needed.
William H. from Tampa, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2015 We had a nice experience on the island. It was after Labor Day. It seemed as if we had the whole island to ourselves. The staff was very helpful and cheerful. The only bad experience was the hard mattress on the bed.
A guest from Mount Dora, FL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2015 When we checked in, the clerk did not give us any information about where our condo was located. Since the numbers on the building do NOT correspond at ALL to the unit numbers, we drove around on the golf cart for a half hour trying to figure out where our unit was located. Additionally, the bell hops are lazy and do nothing. Even the young gal working in the gift shop was extremely rude. Although we were clearly ready to be helped and waiting at the checkout counter, she walked away from us to go unlock the cigar case and wait on an EMPLOYEE who had just walked into the shop!!! She chatted with him, and completed his transaction before turning to us and without a word, a smile, or an acknowledgement, waited on us. Food in the restaurant was good but service was HORRIBLY SLOW! Condo was great! This was our second time here, but we WON'T GO BACK!!!
Carlton T. from Charleston, WV recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2015 Me and the wife went on a no destination vacation to multiple places and this was by far the best beach experience and stay ever the beaches are on a private island and that's what it is there was no one on the beach it was like I was in paradise no cars on the island resort just golf cart very quiet this is my new favorite beach.
A guest from Tampa, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2015 We loved being at Palm Island Resort again!! It was just as always, away from it all, beautiful beach, private, and relaxing. Hunting for gorgeous seashells is such a great way to take your mind off everything. Can't wait to come back again!

Juan C. from Pembroke pines, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2015 This is our 3rd stay here in the last 4 years. I woild recommend you try it and I am sure it will become a family favorite!
Gina G. from Tierra Verde, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in December, 2014 Very nice place to stay. Very clean and didn't wake up with a serious stuffy nose. I am very allergic to dust. It was pleasing that the room we stayed was clean.
Nadine C. from Salem, NH recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in December, 2014 It was awesome. Accommodations were fantastic. The villa was clean and decorated well. Everything one could need was there. Great views and location. Pool and hot tub was nice. Beach was beautiful and full of big shells and lots of sharks teeth. Had fun there and I would recommend it to others.
Michelle Z. from Gainesville, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2014 Our stay was very relaxing and started off stress free with Ian being a great help with out bags. The condo was very nice and well-maintained. We can't wait to visit again.
Tom M. from Waterford, CT recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in October, 2014 The property we had was very clean and fairly modern inside. It was nicer then we expected it to be! I personally would like to have a few more activities available on location, but if you are simply looking to get away from your busy lifestyle and want to sit by the beach of pool and relax, then this is the place for sure!
A guest from Sunrise, Florida recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2014 Visiting for our 3-year wedding anniversary and we will be back. Very relaxing. Helpful staff. We stayed in 3221 and it was very nice.
A guest from Seminole, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2014 The villa we stayed in was exactly as shown on the website-no bait and switch here at all. Super clean, nicely decorated, comfortable- there was really nothing we needed that we didn't have in regards to utensils, linens, and toiletries. The staff at Palm Island Resort was friendly and very helpful. I cannot say enough about Lisa, who exceeded my expectations regarding setting us up for a day of paddle-boarding! The beaches were clean, the water beautiful (especially at the north pass). The beach chairs did seem to be in need of repair and there did not appear to be a great many of them, but we made due on our own. Overall, it was a wonderful 4 days and we plan to return.
Zachery S. from Safety Harbor, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2014 Although we were only able to stay for 3 days, we still had an amazing time. There was absolutely nothing to complain about with any of the rooms, the bedroom was great, kitchen was terrific, and the living room was possibly the best I've seen at Palm Island. Will definitely visit again!
Richard B. from Longwood, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2014 Our stay was amazing from the time we arrived with the professional front desk staff to the bellmen that are always friendly and fun. The condo was clean along with the BBQ grills we used every night. It's just the perfect place to get away and relax. We have recommended Palm Island Resort to everyone we know. The entire stay was flawless, as usual. We can't wait to go back!!!
A guest from N. Ft. Myers, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2013 We stayed at Palm Island Resort for our 40th anniversary and we loved it! It was peaceful, relaxing, just perfect! Everyone was professional, courteous, and very helpful. We will definitely be back.
A guest from Cape Canaveral, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2013 Coconuts was either not open on time or the clerks were out doing other stuff. At the same time, when it was opened, the coffee was pretty good. Never leave a customer waiting.
Jennifer B. from Indianapolis, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2013 Very friendly and accommodating staff, comfortable beach villa just steps from pool, beach and activities, not crowded but not empty, a perfect place to relax and unwind either solo or with friends or family, will definitely look to return
Albert H. from Zephyr Cove, NV recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2013 The trip to Palm Island Resort was the most nerve racking part. Why you say your resort is in Placida, FL, is anyone's guess. The unit we stayed in was clean and well maintained. The sofa bed was typical of sofa beds, ie, hard and uncomfortable. The roads were in need of repair, but not unusable. The resort staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The beaches were beautiful and serene. In all a very pleasant experience.
PATRICK R. from ST PETE, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2013 Unit was not ready at check in time, office did not call customer when unit was ready. Roads / Cart paths very dusty
A guest from London, England recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in November, 2012 Palm Island Resort has an "Old World" kind of charm. The position on the island is very good and the beaches , dunes and intercostal waterways some of the best we have visited . We first visited around 20 years ago with young kids , that was a good experience , now on our own also a good experience . All round pretty good.... Its definitely on "Island Time" and don't expect "fine dining" but that can be charming in its own way.
Michael G. from Deltona, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2012 Was told that Resort was a good place to stay. Boy was that incorrect... This was a GREAT place to stay. We spent 3 nights here and each one was better than the previous one. Did a lot of relaxing, walking the beach, swimming in water, and tooling aroung Island on our rented golf cart. This was just what we needed... a nice relaxing trip. Will be back again for sure. Thank you Palm Island for a great time and look forward to our next visit.
Tracy R. from Clearwater, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2012 First, let me begin with saying that we had a fantastic time and will definitely return. Just a few things...The staff, although friendly, didn't seem to explain things well as far as what time the water taxi stopped running, where to bring cart at checkout, etc. We did have an issue with Addis on the ferry that takes the cars over to the island from the mainland, and our Seafood dinner that came with our package was horrible! We ended up throwing it away. The lobster was probably the only edible item in the basket, and just barely so. It seemed like the seafood had been sitting in the refridgerator for 3 days. Was rubbery and tasted funny. The wine was also horrible and we ended up throwing that away as well. Besides those few items, everything was perfect!
Annie T. from Lutz, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2012 We've been to PI tons over the last 14 yrs. and loved all of the past trips. This one was a little off for a couple of reasons. First, I thought we were getting an upgraded room and it wasn't. The pullout bed/couch was dingy and not much of a bed at all. In the middle of the night our daughter woke up screaming b/c a large cockroach ran across her arm and then back into the bed, so neither girl would sleep on the pullout the rest of the trip. Our bed was already uncomfortable to begin with, let alone with 2 extra bodies.Last, the only way we were able to come on this trip was that a family member sent us the money for the Living Social deal. Money has been too tight the last 2 yrs and we haven't vacationed at all. we planned on eating in our room and when the power went out on Sunday night it forced us to go to Leverocks. I know it doesn't sound like a big deal, but on our budget it is!! My husband is in the process of getting a new job which would allow us to vacation on Palm Island like we use to, but until then we need to conserve. Having said all of this, I do want to complement one of your employees. Travis was very friendly and even though he couldn't get us in an upgraded room, he still went out of his way to make me happy!! I was very impressed. He was a wonderful as Cathy (an old employee) always was!! Thank you, Annie Thacker from Sarasota, FL.
Rose B. from brandon, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in May, 2012 My husband and I stayed for 7 days on the Island. We originally book our stay on the Marina and spent 1 night there. The following morning we realized we wanted to be closer to the ocean and when we call the reservation office they were very accomodating and allowed us to change our arrangements and that was the best decision we made. We enjoyed the peaceful and secluded location. The view from our beach villa was awesome. The staff was excellent.
A guest from Seminole, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2012 The resort was so peaceful. I walked on the beach several times without another soul, as far as I could see. I felt very safe everywhere on the island. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The food at Rum Bay was quite good - and the pricing was reasonable - they do not take advantage of the fact that they do have the monolopy :-). They still endeavor to give great service! The only things that bugged me a little were that in the resort directory left for us in the unit, the phone numbers for all of the departments were listed without area code. I had to dig around to find something that listed the area code before I could call for what I needed. Also, the bigger issue is that there does not seem to be great insulation between units. Our neighbors were not rowdy, but ordinary noises traveled too much, and woke me both mornings. We could hear a lot -- the TV, voices, doors closing, etc. I wanted to sleep in, so I was disappointed when the neighbor's churning washing machine woke me at 8 am. But overall, the trip was wonderful!
Melissa B. from Boca Raton, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2012 Beautiful & relaxing. Having grown up in South Florida, I've visited many, many areas throughout the entire state, and Palm Island Resort is one of the most beautiful places in Florida.
Sheryl C. from SAINT CHARLES, MO recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in December, 2011 WE ALWAYS VACATION THE 2ND WEEK IN DECEMBER, THE RATES ARE LOW AND MOST RESORTS ARE NOT VERY CROWDED. I READ ABOUT PALM ISLAND AND DECIDED TO GIVE IT A TRY. THE BEACHES ARE BEAUTIFUL ALTHOUGH KIND OF A LONG HIKE FROM THE ROOM. THE VIEWS ARE BEAUTIFUL. THE STAFF VERY FRIENDLY. IF YOU WANT A QUIET, RELAXING TRIP THIS IS THE TIME OF YEAR TO GO. WE WERE ALMOST ALWAYS THE ONLY ONES ON THE BEACH. I DO RECOMMEND RENTING THE GOLF CART TO GET AROUND THE ISLAND. YOU ARE ONLY GIVEN ONE ROUND TRIP ON THE FERRY WITH YOUR BOOKING AND THE CHARGE IS NORMALLY OVER $50, I ASK FOR EXTRA TRIPS AND THEY GAVE ME, SO BE SURE TO ASK. I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THE WATER TAXI RIDE TO LEVEROCKS, THE FOOD IS NOT GOOD. THE FOOD, SERVICE AND DRINKS AT RUM BAY ON THE ISLAND IS THE WAY TO GO. STOP AT THE GROCERY BEFORE GOING TO THE ISLAND. IF YOU NEED TO ACCESS INTERNET, TAKE YOUR OWN COMPUTER-THERE IS NOT ONE AVAILABLE ALTHOUGH THEY WILL PRINT BOARDING PASSES FOR YOU. I HAD ASK FOR A LOWER LEVEL ROOM SO THAT IS WHY WE WERE ON THE TOP FLOOR. THE KITCHEN WAS WELL EQUIPED FOR ANYTHING WE MIGHT NEED TO COOK, TAKE YOUR OWN COFFEE. I WAS VERY HAPPY AND WOULD GO THERE AGAIN.
How poor customer service can ruin a vacation experience
A guest from Venice, FL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 1 days in November, 2011 The people need more training! 1st you charge my credit card and then when I call them on it, (the vacation was prepaid) they deny it! I had to emphatically state over and over that Yes, they did excessively charge my credit card, they finally corrected the problem, but never apologized for it, much less gave us, something to compensate for the angst of us having to look up all that info on the credit card, to get the excessive charges removed, that's how it started.....then, the front desk people and the bell staff tells us one thing about the golf cart use and then Dustin tells us entirely another story, so know, which office do I believe? The front office or Dustin? We believed Dustin, but were unsure and that is unsettling, and the $300. waiver we had to sign for the golf cart, should have been mentioned before Dustin makes us sign it......this is a beautiful place, but it is marred by inconsistanties by their staff, who aren't customer friendly, or adequately trained. It's not professionally handled and too stressful an experience, for a wonderful stay on the water. It was very frustrating for the uninitiated to your beautiful resort.
Lee Ann M. from Parrish, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2011 The property is beautiful and very well maintained. The restaurant food and service were excellent. This is a wonderful place to stay if you just need some down time. Definitely rent a golf cart or bicycle to get to the point for shelling, as it is a long walk.
Denise & Brad A. from Port Charlotte, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2011 We had a wonderful time and plan to return again and again!!!!! It was a wonderful getaway that was very close to home. Nice to just take off and forget everything!
Kathy L. from North Port, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2011 We had a beautiful room overlooking the pool and gulf. The room was updated and modern. Other family members had old and dirtly rooms. Be careful which room you reserve. Great beach for shelling. Fantastic turtle walk in am. We would return if we knew what room we would be staying in
Karen M. from Palm City, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2011 My husband and I went to the resort for an anniversary getaway. We did the couples getaway package. It was wonderful. The villa we stayed in was tastefully decorated and spotless. we had a bike rental for the two days we were there and that was a great idea. We could bike all over the island and get exercise while exploring. The picnic that was provided as part of the package was a great addition to the trip. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We took long walks on the beach and found incredible shells and a lot of sharks teeth. I would highly recommend visiting Palm Island to anyone looking for a nice and relaxing vacation.
A guest from 3109 West San Carlos Street, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2011 I would recommend this vacation resort to anyone wanting a clean, friendly, calming environment to relax and get away from the pressures of your lives! Take your spouse, or get a bunch of friends to meet here and enjoy each others company. You will not be disappointed - and you also will not want to leave! Make sure to grocery shop before you come so you won't have to leave the islnnd! Awesome!
BUNNY P. from BRADENTON, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in May, 2010 As I cross the canal on the ferry boat I can start to feel the work /life tensions slipping away and a big smile appear on my face because I'm going to my Island!! No worries, no time frame, just time to relax, chill out, walk the beach and enjoy the maginificant sunsets and yes, have a massage by Karen who is an excellent massage therapist that comes to the Island so give her a call!! Looking for special shells end enjoying the crystal clear gulf is just amazing!! See you on the beach!
CHARLES T. from SARASOTA, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2009
