Stayed for 2 days in February, 2013 we originally were told per the booking website for Palm Island that we were renting a 3rd floor room. We specifically look for this incase there are loud guests and we won't have to hear them bang around above us. When we got to the island we were placed in a 1st floor room. That afternoon and into the next day all we heard was loud banging and scraping noises as it turns out a family with a couple young kids were staying above us. We were woken up by the banging about 0700. The manager was very nice when we checked out and gave us a partial refund for our inconvienence. The point is tho, and I hope Palm Island takes this seriously, is don't rent rooms on the 2nd or 3rd floor to families with kids,and rent the room that the website tells you your reserving not a different room |

Our air cnditioner on the day of the wedding was broke most of the day, which made it "very" uncomfortable that first full day. Other than that we had a good experience EXCEPT for the driver of the golf cart one evening when taking us back to our Villa after dinner at your restaurant. We had to YELL that he was backing into some posts (he would have hit them and injured those of us on the back seat facing the posts!), when we did he coped a major attitude! Other than that we enjoyed our stay and everyone else we encountered! Thanks so much. Will be coming back!!!!! |

Palm Island Resort -Not Exactly What We Expected A guest from Ft. Lauderdale, FL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2012 We bought a Living Social deal for Palm Island Resort. The unit we were given, 3721, was not good;peeling wallpaper, chipped paneling, stained upholstery, broken hairdryer, bathtub not draining, mouldy grout, broken AC. Fortunately,because of the AC, we were moved to a better unit , but if that hadn't happened we would have been stuck with 3721 which reminded me of an old motel room. Because of this, I would not go back. I felt that Living Social customers were being given the least desirable units even though we paid a fair price for off season. I could never recommend Palm Island because of the condition of the units. On the flip side, the service was excellent and very friendly,and the beach and grounds are beautiful and well kept. |

Our wonderful weekend @ Palm Island A guest from Venice, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2011 My husband & I were getting away for a weekend alone and thought that Palm Island would be a perfect locations since we live so close. We were right! It was amazing. We were able to enjoy the screened porch early in the morning overlooking the beautiful grounds which included an awesome view of the beach. There was plenty to do if you wanted or you could just take it easy. The couples weekend package was well worth it. Highly recommend it!!!! You won't be disappointed. |

I do have to report that at least one of each the grills in each area did not work. Also, a 6 foot tan.brown snake slithered between both grill areas and I reported the event, but am not sure anything was done about it. My gentleman thought it was a rattler due to the telltale rattles on the end of lengthy tail. Diameter of my two fingers in width. We were also given an offer on the way out of the place that required an instant, impulsive decision that lasted only 24 hours that I did not feel was appropriate. We should have had at least a week to entertain that offer before it went away. We may have taken them up on the offer. Also, we had to replace two batteries---one in the remote and the entire flashlight due to not working. These could have been troubleshot ahead of time, and be part of an inventory checkoff list for each unit. Otherwise, a fabulous experience, my seventh visit over the course of 20 years at Palm Island. The entire staff was professional, warm, and engaging and worked with the visitors and their requests to the best of their ability/availability of request. The villa was well supplied and very clean.I would love to see a coupon offered to your regular visitors to encourage more and regular visits that would extend perhaps 15% off of future visits to be used at ANY time, that sort of thing. The 50% was very enticing, but the impulsive nature of it was offputting.We will be back at some point to this wonderful resort, and a coupon would seal the deal. Many thanks, Maria Raysses-Whipple |

I called to schedule the Honeymoon Special while talking on the phone I mentioned several times the importance of everything going as plan and how there was no room for error. I was re-assured that everything was going to be just as promised. I called back about a month before my reservation and Kathy confirmed that everything was going to go as promised. To my surprise it all started by the way I was greeted at the ferry, at the parking lot and at the reception office. It was like if I had stepped into a place where everything was about me and my wife. It was enough to show me the place I had selected to celebrate my 5 years anniversary was the right one. I had taken the Honeymoon Special package which included a renewal of the vows ceremony, being a guy and not thinking about the small details I had not thought about a bouquet of flowers for my beautiful bride; however apparently I was not the first one to have forgotten? I received a personal phone call to my cell phone by no other than Kathy (the same Kathy that had given me a piece of mind a month before) who was going to perform the ceremony. Kathy asked me if I had any particular time for the ceremony, I asked what she recommended and she suggested a sunset ceremony, then asked me if I remembered to bring the flowers and when my answer was no, she once again exceeded my expectations by saying: ?don?t worry I?ll have one deliver to your room tomorrow before I go by to pick you up?. It was said and done. Kathy was there to pick us up and to take us to a beautiful spot. No need to say my entire experience was a success and everyone in the island was great. Dreaming of our return in '08 HART T. from TAMPA, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2007 We love Palm Island,and have tried to visited once/twice annually for many years. The best 5 minutes of my year is spent on the ferry going TO Palm Island, and I can actually feel my heartbeat change/breath slow as I know how relaxing the next few days will be spent here. The resort units vary in size/decor and some have been modernized with newer kitchen cabinets and appliances, but doesn't particularly matter to me since we spend so little time indoors. It's all about the gorgeous beach, and my beachview porch, and my chaise placed next to the sound of lapping surf, and the little ghost crab I see out of the corner of my eye popping up out of his hole. We bring our own groceries, and occasionally dh will grill steaks, but mostly we all grab cold fried chicken/salad/fruit/snacks whenever we feel like it. We do not move fast here..we wake up when we feel like it and go to bed when we feel like it, and the atmosphere is stress-free. Biggest decision is whether to ride a bike, take a golf cart or walk down to hear Redbeard (the resident pirate which is great fun for the kids). Palm Island Resort is a perfect beach holiday! |
