A guest from Marianna, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2016 Island n facilities were great!#1181 unit smelled musty n moldy! The smell was on our clothes when we arrived home !!We were in 3 other units n the same smell was prominent!!I realize they are beach houses but there has to be something to alleviate that odor!!!!!
Carol D. from Placida, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in January, 2016 Million dollar view! Large master with nice large bath. Open plan living area and comfortably furnished. Directly on beach, great sunsets. Pool water warm, whirlpool always on. Enjoyed Rum Bay and Leverocks. Friendly and helpful staff.
Michael K. from Sarasota, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2015 We live somewhat locally and were surprised to hear about Palm island when we never had previously. We were visiting for a wedding. What a great place for a family vacation. Low key and relaxing. We did not have an updated unit but it was clean and suited our needs. Easy access to beach. Pool nearby. Very spacious so we weren't on top of each other. Staff was nice and accommodating.
Shannon D. from St Petersburg, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2015 We were a little unhappy that we couldn't go to the end of the island, as there was a wedding that Friday evening. We wish they would have told us when we checked in.
A guest from Lawrenceville, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2014 We love the quietness and beauty of the island. This villa is looking a little rundown, but you can't beat the view.
Anne H. from Scottsdale, AZ does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2014 I am a long time Palm Island client and the island always provides the relaxing environment that I need to abandoned my stressful daily life. This year however I was extremely disappointed with my accommodations. Luckily the PI experience is more for me about beach and privacy than it is to have a "standard" living space. While I did choose the "standard" model this year, my accommodations were sub-standard. Lumpy hard mattress, disgusting carpet, rusted appliances, roaches (BIG ONES)and a complete power outage which exceeded 5 hours is not "standard" in my book. The Coconuts staff is miserable and have no customer service skills. When I attempted to provide this feedback at my departure there was no ear for it. I was simply brushed off. I will rethink my consideration of investing on PI and put my hard earned nest egg in to property with a more considerate staff and a better mind for business.
Roy A. from China Grove, NC recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2014 We had a great week. The only major problem was the ac and we had to move. Also both units need to have the baths updated. They need to have walkin showers in the master bedrooms. The golf carts also needs to be replaced for the cost that was charged.
Reviewed by: Pedro B M. recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2014 The villa that we rented was amazing. It was very cozy, with two nice bedrooms, kitchen and living room area. Opening the sliding door and going to the beach was simply amazing. We woke up to the amazing view of the beach. The waters are clear and there are many pretty shells to look at and lots of activities. We had a very nice time.
A guest from Oak Park, IL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2014 The condo we rented was very close to the beach, and at the far end of the property, which we really enjoyed. The beach is gorgeous. However, the condo is for sale and is in great need of updating/refreshing. The kitchen was not well equipped (e.g., there was only a fragment of a cutting board available), the carpet was old and yucky, the bathrooms were unpleasant, and the bed I was in was not comfortable. For the amount we paid for rent, this unit was overpriced, and I wouldn't recommend it. I don't think the resort is well-managed, but the location is great.
Bill R. from Alpharetta, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2014 I had not been to Palm Island Resort in about eight years, so I was eager to show the place off to my new bride for our honeymoon. I had really built it up to her, and was delighted that even after that, it exceeded her expectations. The location on the Gulf is perfect, the villa is perfect, the amenities are perfect. We got a massage and we went on a kayak tour of the ICW and Hidden Lake. We ate on the patio at sunset. We walked the beach and sat on the shore. I cannot imagine a more perfect honeymoon or vacation in general.
Joanne M. from Sarasota, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2014 we love Palm Island. Our unit was perfect. close to beach, tennis and pool. always fun and relaxing to stay there
Tim H. from Chicago, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in October, 2013 We have been going to Palm Island on and off for 20 years. It is the best Veg-out vacation you can get. Great experiences and memories had here. Love to buy a place there !
A guest from Chantilly, Virginia recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in September, 2013 Flight cancellation only allowed us one night stay. Refunded the other night, with no problem. Very nice, just wish we could have stayed longer.
A guest from Beachwood, NJ recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in September, 2013 We had a great time. Palm island is definitely the place to go if you want to sit back and relax. We will be back!!!
A guest from Clearmount, Florida recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2013 We had an amazing time. The villa was perfect and equipped with all of our needs. Our villa was located seconds from the pool and beach which was awesome. My only wish was for some night life, once the sun goes down the pool closes and there is not much to do, next time well be more prepared for this and bring some entertainment like movies/ games/ a radio etc. while in the villa. We can't wait to go back next summer and plan on staying a couple more nights!
Annie T. from Sarasota, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2013 We rented 2 condos to celebrate my daughters Sweet 16 with her friends. Everyone had a wonderful time and the resorts setting was perfect. We love Palm Island Resort and will continue to make it our vacation destination!!
Nicole K. from Tampa, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2013 I loved my visit to the island but the employees at the resort made it even more enjoyable. Most of the people seemed very happy to work there and were very helpful.
A guest from Tampa, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2013 My husband and I come to the island at least once every other year but this time we brought our daughter and special needs granddaughter. We all had a outstanding time.
Thomas B. from Chardon, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2013 We had a great stay and a good time. however due to weather issues the fishing was not as good as our stay. Mike Slattery tried very hard to make the fishing experience a good time.
A guest from St Pete, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2013 We had a great time. The only thing that we would have changed was the weather. It rained 2 out of the 3 days and flood warnings went off all night on our phones. The beach itself was magical. The shells were the best I have found in all of my 38 years of florida living and beach combing. The town homes had everything our family of 5 needed. Even a secret stash of toys that my 3 boys enjoyed during the storms. Cooking our own food really cut down on the cost. Resort restaurant was pricey.Resort staff took extra measures to make my family comfy. Stephen secured a unit that was quiet our middle son has special needs and is sensitive to noise. Debbie decorated for my husbands birthday. What a special enterance. Looking forward to our next visit!
Jared S. from St Petersburg, FL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2012 We really enjoyed our trip to Palm Island the year before (in spite of a Red Tide bloom!) We believe Palm Island has a great location and facilities but were very disappointed during our return visit recently, mainly due to the customer service of the front desk. On our second day we lost power for about 6 hours (which we understand things happen sometimes), but the front desk staff when asked several times would not offer any help. We received no indication that the staff realized or was concerned about the inconvenience that this caused(i.e. loss of AC and we were unable to make lunch). Specifically my 7 month pregnant wife was very uncomfortable in this situation and I felt that it put a damper on our vacation. When the staff did not answer the phone (we were just checking on the status of the power coming on as it was an hour after their estimated time and it was getting dark - we also received no help on where to find flashlights, candles, etc. other than to look around our unit - which there were none), I drove our golf cart over to the front desk. When nearby the front desk the golf cart lost power since we were unable to recharge it from our morning drive (b/c of the power being out for the previous 6 hours). I received no responsiveness from the staff when asked where the nearest plug would be or any offer of help to push the golf cart. Additionally, there was an exposed nail in the doorway to the bathroom in the master bedroom that cut my wife's foot.
Beverly R. from Coral Springs, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2012 For 2yrs my husband and I have tried to make it here to Palm Island and always put it off.. Well we can indeed say, it was well worth every bit of the wait.. this place is amazing. It was everything and more of what we thought. Great place to relax and just enjoy the beach and the fantastic view.. Yes, Yes! we surley will be back. We had an amazing time. Thanks to all the staff who made it all possible.Beverley and Junior Rodgers
A guest from Jacksonville, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2012 Our first visit to Palm Island was in 1998. We found it by word of mouth. It is private, quiet, pristine, and perfect for family fun and relaxation. Although several units and amenities could use updating, that will not stop us from returning again and again. Our favorite activity? Searching for fossilized sharks teeth. We find on average 100 per day.
Susan S. from Tampa, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2012 The unit could use a few updates. Dishwasher and washer and dryer very old. Actually all appliances were pretty old (microwave was slow to heat up and fridge didn't keep things super cold. Loved the view and overall the unit was in good shape and clean. Just some updates needed.
A guest from Bryan, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in March, 2012 Overall a fantastic property, the views from our unit were incredible, privacy / homey feel was excellent... it does feel like "your own" beach resort! I am VERY picky about cleanliness too, so a 5 star is a big deal for me to give. Highly recommend the unit we rented (#1811) and I am sure others are just as top notch.
Barbara S. from Indianapolis, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2012 My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay - wish it had been longer. Shelling on the beach was great. We loved watching the dolphins and pelicans and the SUNSETS! We also enjoyed our dinner at Rum Bay and the water taxi ride to Leverock's. We took turns driving the electric cart all over the island. Would love to come back some day.
A guest from Miramar, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2012 Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful. Very quiet surroundings. We loved the on-site restaurant. Our boys went kayak fishing and had a great time. We also rented bicycles and had fun exploring the island. The beaches were clean; great for seashell hunting! Having the golf cart was great, and having two trips via the ferry back to the mainland included was also a great add-on, even though we didn't use them. We felt like we had left the country and were somewhere in the Caribbean. We would definitely go back again!
Katherine S. from Venice, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2012 Unit was spotless but needed a total re-do, very dated. Right on the beach, location doesn't get much better.Beach was super and had good meals at Rum Bay. Enjoyed running around on a golf cart. Pools were well-kept and many tennis courts available.Absolutely would return, maybe will ask for a more updated unit.
A guest from Baskin Ridge, NJ recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in December, 2011 We come for a week every Christmas. We play tennis, go to the beach and ride bikes. There are no cars on the island. Everyone gets around in golf carts and bicycles. It's a great place for families with kids because they can really have the run of the place and you don't have to worry about them.
Susanne Q. from Saint James City, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2011 We loved this Island and beach. One of the best places we have ever stayed. Looking forward to another vacation there. If you like to party--this is not the place. If you like peace and tranquility, this is it!
A guest from Rotonda, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in October, 2011 I enjoyed my stay here, and the location of the unit was great. But this particular unit really needs an update, as the furnture and fittings were old, and showing some wear and tear. And attention to detail such as water tap at the steps to the beach weren't working which meant we could not rinse our feet so had to leave sandy footwear in the porch. Others who weren't so careful would have tracked a lot in.Overall, nice stay but not sure I'd pick that unit again.
Jared S. from St Petersburg, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2011 We thought the resort was beautiful, but we were disappointed to arrive to the smell of dead fish. The first day of our stay was the beginning of a red tide bloom and the beaches were covered with dead fish. We weren't able to enjoy laying on the beach or swimming in the ocean. At the hottest part of the day, it was almost impossible to be outside because of the smell and we just shut ourselves inside our villa.I could tell the property management was dealing with the problem as best they could, but it was still a disappointment for a birthday celebration.
Mathias D. from berlin, Germany recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in October, 2011 we been on the island often in the last 20 years! We love to come back.. specially the kids ... even if they are kids no longer!
A guest from Atlanta, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2011 The location and staff are great. The food at Rum Bay was excellent - best piece of tuna ever. Much improved over past visits. Our specific unit (1811) had a very good layout, but could have used a little updating. Great visit. Thanks.
megan n. from glen ellyn, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 9 days in November, 2009 Nothing in the best sense of the word. Bikes, swimming, dolphins, sunsets, books, games, sand castles, even made a BBQ turkey for Thanksgiving by the pool. Fantastic. Easy. Breezy. Relaxing. Beautiful. Calm. Great staff. Will be back.

Gary M. from Pembrook Pines, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in October, 2009 Upon arrival Sunday evening, our condo was not what we expected. CJ came in on her time off, went the extra mile, relocated us, and made our experience unforgetabble! She MADE our vacation!

A guest from Eden Prairie, MN recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in November, 2008 1811. ...on entering the drape was on the floor, the bathroom stuck with my wife inside, the shower did not work, etc.all was instantly repaired. We viewed several other units while there and ours was the exception...all others were beautiful and well maintained. I would definetly recommend Palm Island and we fully intend to return

TONY I. from PLANTATION, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2008 overall the stay was very good.just a couple of things to mention... the inside of our unit was pretty run down and the construction on the outside was an eyesore.also was not told of the $150 non returnable deposit for the dog we brought.knew of other guests who were not charged this.with all being said i would return.
We had a 7 day stay with granddaughter and her friend with a great view but mediocre accomodations and food.
Reviewed by: A guest does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2008 The view from the condo was great. The condo looked as if it had not been remodeled since it was built. The rugs were worn and the worn furniture and appliances were dated and not commencerate with the rate of $2,752.00 per week. We rented a condo on the beach at Siesta Key two weeks prviously that contained furniture and appliances of much higher quality and showing little wear.
The food at the Rum Bay Restaurant was was fair but the pizzas where they had breakfast and rented golf carts were not good at all and had to throw half of them away. we ended up eating at Johhny Leverock's or at other restaurants off the island.
Those that worked for Palm Island Resort were friendly and very helpful. As stated above the food and accomodations left a lot to be desired.
SUSAN A. from BRADENTON, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in December, 2007 I don't actually live in Florida. We've been coming to Palm Island for years from various places in the US and now London, England. It's a great place for people who are very self-sufficient and don't require a lot of activities and socializing. Come with people who you love, to reconnect and spend time in a beautiful place.
It's great for families - there are no cars on the island and you have to take a ferry to get there so it's very safe and you can let your kids run free.
It's a place where you can be right on a beautiful, unspoiled beach - no hi-rises - just birds and dolphins. It's never crowded, not even Christmas week because there aren't that many condos available. And you don't have to rough it at all. You can stay in a modern, charmingly furnished condo with all the conveniences - washer/dryer, A/C, screened porch overlooking the ocean, even a blender.
There's a tennis program and courts everywhere. There are gas grills so you can barbeque by the pool. There are flowers everywhere. You get around on beach bikes or golf carts. This is also great fun for kids. There's one restaurant/bar on the island, and another where the ferry drops you off on the mainland. It's also supposed to be one of the top shelling places in the world - very close to Sanibel as the crow flies but it takes a good 2 hours to get there - although I don't know why you'd want to go to Sanibel. Palm Island is probably the way Sanibel was before it was overrun by tourists.
