4th of July weekend
Gale C. from tarpon springs, Florida recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2016 My nephew, his daughter and I had a wonderful time. We enjoyed riding around the island on our golf csrt. The pool was well maintained. And of course the beach was great. Fireworks and sunset just topped off the day!
A guest from Walton, KY recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in January, 2016 We really enjoyed our vacation at Palm island resort. It was so relaxing, and we had amazing weather while we were there. The resort is older, but in very good condition. We had a couple of things that started off bad... We were taken to a unit, and we had already began unpacking when we notice there was no water. Hot water heater was bad, and they had been told not to rent the unit... So we spent about an hour total, moving from one unit to another. The other complaint is that the two bedroom units have one king bedroom, and the other bedroom is twin beds, which is fine if you are traveling with children. But for two couples a bit annoying. It is a great place to go and unwind and forget the world. If you are looking for excitement, do not come here, but if you want to get away from life, great place.
A guest from Placida, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in August, 2015 This was a wonderful 1st visit to the island.. will not be our last. Staff were all very friendly and professional. They moved us from a 2nd floor condo to a 1st floor as one of the ladies hurt her foot. Great service -- absolutely beautiful well appointed condos. We were there 7 nights. Must see.
Meagan A. from Port Charlotte, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2015 Loved the Island. Golf carts were lots of fun. Grills were great. Unit had everything we needed. Loved everything except the bed was terribly uncomfortable. Upgrades needed to mattresses!
Richard K. from Brandon, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in June, 2014 Our 12th summer @ Palm Island. Wouldn't want to go anywhere else--love it. So relaxing. Can't wait until next summer!!!!!
A guest from Bristol, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in March, 2014 Everything was great except the ferry ride. The ferry closes at 10 or 11 pm. If u are arriving in the evening or you eat off-site in the evening, you have to hurry to make the ferry. Also, ferry is free for guests but you only get one free trip a day and they only give you half the tickets you are entitled to at check-in. And office not open all the time so--if you run out of tickets, ferry ride is $55 round trip.
Delia D. from St Pete, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2013 We really didn't know what to expect and were pleasantly surprised. We had so much fun as a family doing all the things we never have time to do. We played, swam, and fished our hearts out. The beaches were so beautiful and empty and we live at one of the top beaches in the country. There was a wedding going on the weekend we were in Palm Island but still felt like we had the place to ourselves. We all caught so many fish right on the beach, found so many shells and shark teeth. The restaurant Rum Bay was really good, surprisingly priced, and filled with the nicest servers. Our six year old daughter had the time of her life and even cried when it was time to leave. My only complaint was that the units are a little outdated and our bed was not great, but I'm sure this is not the case for all the condos. Go to Palm Island and enjoy your life!
A guest from Tampa, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2013 We really enjoyed our stay. The beach is beautiful and quiet. We had a family reunion with 30 people in 7 separate condominium units. Great place for that. Our only complaint was that there are few dining options, and the quality of the food at Rum Bay was not good. The resort would do well to encourage improvement in dining options.
A guest from Bonten Beach, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in May, 2013 After 13 yrs of annual visits I am questioning if ill return. The plumbing in my unit was terrible. The master bath would not drain, despite the 3 visits by the plumber. The washing machine spilled out into hallway and living room on day two. so I had to live with wet smelly carpet for three days. The key to the door jammed several times requiring yet another visit from Eddie, the very nice maintenance man. My husband was told there would be Internet access in our room and there wasn't and Marty basically called him a liar saying its impossible that someone would have told him that. No discount or credit was offered despite our inconvenience of spending several hours in our condo awaiting a maintenance man or a plumber. Really? thats just unbelievable to Me on MY VACATION I've been going to PI for so many years. I love Dan the bellman, jimmy in security and Marty was always a pleasure, until this time. Zero respect for being such loyal guests year after year. Makes me sad to say, but this years trip left a foul taste in the mouth & I'm not sure ill be back.
A guest from Bradenton, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in May, 2013 We had a wonderful quiet family time. Shelling on the Beach was the best part. I very much liked the fact we were so isolated and vehicles being restricted.
Property Manager Response: Response from Palm Island Resort Vera, Thank you for taking the time to let us know that you enjoyed your stay! We do have some of the most spectacular shelling on our beaches. Please do come see us again!
A unique and beautiful setting for Business and Nature viewing
A guest from Anchorage, Alaska recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in March, 2013 We came to Port Charlotte for a business meeting and tour of wetland reclamation projects. Our business partner, who is a Palm Beach resident, suggested that we might enjoy staying on the island. It proved to be an excellent suggestion. The location was convenient and the natural setting provided just the experience we wanted for our first stay on the Gulf Coast. We especially enjoyed the birding and beach shelling. The two-bedroom condo accommodation was nicely furnished, comfortable, and a better alternative for our needs than two impersonal hotel rooms. The resort staff was very helpful in helping us meet our various travel connections. We stayed two more days after our business was done and explored the local area. We only wish that the cold windy weather during our stay at Palm Beach Resort had been more characteristic of Florida in March!
Mark C. from Lady Lake, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2012 Our experience at Palm Island was fantastic. It was everything we were hoping for and then some. Everyone was very accommodating and always friendly.
Rufus T. from Jacksonville, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2012 We had a great time and a excellent experience. Our first visit in June was just the two of us and it was great.Peaceful, quiet and romantic. This last trip we brought our 4 grandkids. The experience was different but just as great. I was afraid that they would want a more "theme park" vacation but I was pleasantly surprised that they all had a great time.we have told all our friends about your facility and hope to return soon.
Palm Island - Perfect location could use a refresh of personnel
A guest from Tampa, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2012 Nice place...good condition for the most part. The front desk staff weren't very polished but I only had to deal with them twice. Other than that the place was perfect...
Robyn C. from Longwood, FL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2012 This was our 2nd visit to Palm Island. Our first visit was great! This time, not so much. Staff did not communicate that they were assigning us a different condo, further away from the office/parking lot and there were no more golf carts for us to use. In addition, the water went out due to a main line break and it was recommended we boil our water for 2 days. Unless we called the office, there was NO communication about this issue and possible danger of drinking the water once it came back on. We had to gather our own information rather than proactively being told of this issue. VERY VERY disappointed.
A guest from Lan O Lakes, Florida recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2011 From the moment we arrived at the car ferry, this was an impressive experience. The resort is beautiful: it spans many miles, all of which is very well kept. Everyone was extremely kind and helpful, from the bellmen to the office staff, to the staff at Coconuts, and even the residents of Palm Island. Our villa was very well stocked, with everything you can think of for the kitchen and even toys for the kids. The beach view was to die for, and the convenience to the pool, grills, and Coconuts was an extra plus. We had the beach to ourselves, though with perfect water and nice sand, we were unsure why. The fact that this island is not commercialized was one of our favorite parts--it helped everything seem more peaceful, although there is a Publix on the mainland, just a couple minutes away. We can't say enough good things about our stay at Palm Island, and we can't wait to return.
Tammy P. from Myakka, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2011 We had a wonderful vacation on Palm Island. Would've liked the beach to have been a little closer but everything was great.
Niurka L. from Miami, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2011 It was a new experience for us to take our car in a ferry into the island and drive a golf cart everywhere within the island, we had a great weekend!
A guest from Lake Mary, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2010 If you like to relax on a quiet, beautiful island, this is the place to be! We had a nice 2 bedroom condo overlooking the clear water of the gulf. The beach was full of collectable shells and the fishing was good. The island has one restaurant and a small store for items you may have forgotten. Bring what you need because once you board the ferry and leave your car at the entrance you are on your own. The bell staff and other service employees are outstanding. We will definitely return!
A guest from REEDFIELD, ME recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in March, 2009 Major construction going on at building next door with noise starting early in morning. Many empty units further away from construction that we could have been given. Poor planning by management.
PAUL N. from Waite Hill, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2008 It was a wonderful stay, but the unit looked a bit dated and worn. We alsi didn't like the single door access on the street side instead of the beach side access. This was our first summer time visit. The staff was wonderful.
Property Manager Response:

robert w. from HUDSON, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2008 Didn't enjoy this stay as much as before due to the room setup. TV in bedroom with large bed didn't work right. The TV was about a 15 inch. The other bedroom with two twin beds had the larger TV. I enjoy your property very much but will request the original room that we stayed in instead of gambling with another one. Your staff was great!!!!!
