We even took pictures for our own decorating ideas, but I did not care for the polyester sheets. Yuck!As well the check-in & check-out procedures needed attention. That's too much to ask of the restaurant.The meal at Leverock's was fantastic. So was the wait staff! The experience at Rum Bay, was really lacking. I won't do that again. |

Stayed for 2 days in October, 2012 My best friend and I stayed at Palm Island Resort on the mainland a few weeks ago to celebrate our birthdays together. We were looking for a quiet place where we could relax and catch up, and this place was EXACTLY what we needed. Everything was wonderful. Our villa was adorably decorated and had been remodeled and upgraded (not sure if they are all like this, I think our unit was #1213...definitely request this one if you can). We had everything we needed, from a wine bottle opener to a blender and dish soap. The water taxi driver to and from the island was a really nice guy. The food at Leverocks and Rum Bay was not exceptional, but it was good enough and very typical seaside food. The "shelling" on the island was incredible. We got there in the late afternoon and still found plenty of seashells. We saw the most amazing sunset. The resort even had lawn chairs for people to use on the beach free of charge (at least I think they were free, no one asked us for any money!). I do recommend bringing a beach towel, as they were not provided. It is also a great spot to fish. The only problem we had was understanding the check in and check out process. We got there just before 8pm and couldn't figure out where to get the key. Thank god for the 24 hour maintenance man who answered the phone when we called. He explained that there is a little box where you can pick up your keys across the street from the resort. The main office for the resort is actually on the island, but we were staying at the marina, so we were confused. The check out process was also not clear, but it turns out you just drop your keys back in the box where you got them. Simple enough, but it would have been good to get directions via email before getting there. Aside from that, I cant say enough nice things about this place. It really was a fantastic gettaway and I would definitely go here again. WE LOVED IT!! |

Rental of #1213 TERRY B. from ROCHSTER, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in February, 2009 Our stay was incredible - not knowing what to expect, the "room" was beyond expectations. The washer/dryer, kitchen utensils, amount of space was so much more than anticipated. Merely as a suggestion (please don't take if as a negitive on our overall stay) the bathroom needed some work - wallpaper peeling, hangers pulled out of the wall. The furnace quit on a Fri night, looked up maint phone no. in literature rec'd and saw Mon thru Fri hours - called anyway on Sat. morning and get an immediate, very profesional answer and by the time we returned to the room the problem had been fixed and a report of repairs made left on the counter - very nice! The people in the other units were very friendly and the staff went out of their way to accomadate us. Thanks! |

Good location, bad Internet coverage Steven D. from Marengo, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in February, 2009 When we checked in, we found dirty floors, glassware in need of a re-wash, a garbage disposal that didn't work and a kitchen faucet that was loose. We called the office and the problems were quickly addressed. The biggest problem I had was with Internet coverage. The available service to guests is expensive and didn't work very well. We paid for a month's service and gave up after the first two days. It simply didn't work in our room. It would have been nice if someone would have been available to greet us when we arrived and provide us with an orientation to the facility. Overall the property worked out for us and we enjoyed our stay. |
