Pam D. from Palm Beach Gardens, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2016 My husband and I had a very stressful year and were looking forward to a very relaxing anniversary. We found the " Romantic Getaway " package. Greta packahe including golf cart (essential), seafood picnic w/ wine and dinner for 2 in the restaurant. The sunsets were amazing. Unfortunately, Red tide came in the first day of are stay so water sports were out of the question. Also, there are no activities this time of year. We ate at the Rum Bay restaurant daily and found the conch fritters to be outstanding.
A guest from Bokeelia, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2016 We've been coming to PI/DPI for 20 years beginning with the Resort. We had a couple of issues taken care in the unit after reporting them in about 48 hours. All staff members are very professional and helpful. The golf carts are another story! Bald tires on all three we were assigned;no rearview mirror, and tail lights not working. Very unsafe. We had a blow out on the 2nd cart. The third cart would not take a charge. Carts were being driven by under age kids without parents and overloaded. Even saw one cart with someone riding on the hood in front. Resort patrol never seemed to be around on roads just sitting in the shade watching who knows what? Rum Bay is awesome as always. Dustin has been waiting on us for over 7 years and is very accommodating, professional, pleasant and attentive. Merry at the front desk is pleasant and professional as were the others at desk. We will be back!!
A guest from Orlando, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2016 We loved the island and how friendly all the staff was. The room was nice and we would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a vacation rental.
A guest from Columbus, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in November, 2015 This area is a slice of heaven on earth. This was my first time to stay at Palm Island and the staff as well as everyone you passed either walking, bicycling, or in a golf cart were so incredibly friendly .. Waving, saying hello, etc.... Have stayed at Don Pedro Island (connected) 5 times previously. My only complaint was the dishwasher was not working. Numerous attempts were unsuccessful in fixing it. Made it a bit challenging when you want to cook each day! ??
Linda B. from Osage Beach, MO recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in October, 2015 We have been visiting this resort for years and had another great stay. Our unit was clean and comfortably furnished. Staff on the island is great. The bell stand, reception, housekeeping, Rum Bar bartenders and servers were friendly & accommodating!
Carmello D. from Palm Harbor, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2015 This was our first visit to your resort, we found it easy to get to the ferry ride was a very short and pleasant. The accommodations were great, perfect for just the two of us, very clean and decorated nicely. The golf carts made exploring the island easy. Unfortunately the weather wasn't perfect but we still got to enjoy the beach and shell hunting. Had dinner at Rum Bay two nights wasn't impressed with the quality of the food or the service. Next time we will eat off island.
A guest from Boynton Beach, FL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2015 The unit we stayed in, while needing updating, was clean and sufficient for our needs. The beaches are beautiful & the staff was friendly (mostly), but there were a couple of issues that will prevent us from returning. First of all, the restaurants (both on and off the island) were not good. The food was edible...that's it. In addition, the restaurants are old, dingy, dirty, & musty. We requested to sit outside b/c the smell made us feel ill. Since these are the only restaurants available (besides some local places w/o good reviews) I would suggest planning to cook all your own meals (not very fun on vacation, though). Also, when we were leaving, there were no golf carts available to get us as the person on duty the night before had forgotten to plug them in. Instead of using the golf carts available for rent, we either had to wait an hour or walk quite a ways w/all our bags in the heat. Not the best management. It all seems like management issues to me. We will go somewhere else next time.
A guest from Gainesville, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2015 We first visited Palm Island Resort several years ago for a friend's wedding, and decided it would be the perfect spot for our own anniversary weekend. The one bedroom we rented was on the top floor, and the gulf views from the screened-in balcony were amazing! We found some beautiful shells and dozens of shark's teeth on our walks along Shark's Tooth Beach. Our meals at Rum Bay were excellent, and we took the water taxi across to Leverock's one evening and met up with old friends staying at the marina. My husband really loves tooling around the resort in a golf cart. We definitely recommend Palm Island if you need a relaxing place to spend a long weekend! Any longer, and you would just run out of things to do.
A guest from Gorham, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in February, 2015 We've always avoided anything with Resort in the name, thinking it would resemble a cruise ship with crowds. We happened upon Palm Island Resort while looking for a room for 1 night near Fort Myers. They had a vacancy, we took it, and liked it so much we extended our stay one night, then switched to a 2 bedroom villa when our daughter and son-in-law arrived. We all enjoyed the quiet, the biking and walking, the activities we chose to participate in (beach yoga and aquacize in the pool),shelling, and the delicious food at the reasonably priced restaurant on site. We left for a week to meet the rest of our family at a rented house on Anna Maria, then returned by ourselves for 2 more nights. Plan to come back next February! Still afraid of Resorts- I can't imagine they'll all be as nice as Palm Island Resort!!
A guest from Crawfordville, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in February, 2015 We stayed at Palm Island Resort in winter 2014 and booked for 2015 as soon as we got back for 2 weeks. I will be booking for 2016 now we are back in INdiana. The unit we stayed in our second week was a little worn/outdated but clean. Our first week condo was nice. We stayed in Beach Villas both times. I recommend it regardless of the condition of the Villas!
Shad A. from Jesup, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in November, 2014 We had a very relaxing week. Weather cooperated for the most part. The accommodations were very nice and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
A guest from Yulee, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in October, 2014 We felt at home for 5 days. We were there for our son's wedding. You should always ask for deluxe or Superior.Comfortable bed and clean. Great views! only downside...huge palmetto bug in closet. We got it out and the rest of the stay was perfect
Richard B. from Tampa, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2014 Palm island Resort was extremely clean . Employee's were always very helpful. Lots of vslue for the money.will return for sure.
Christie R. from Land O Lakes, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in September, 2014 This was just a one night getaway for my husband and me, as we left the kids at home this time. As always, we had a great time. We stayed in a one bedroom villa for the first time, which was okay. The villla was clean and had a great view of the Gulf. I wish the bedroom had a Gulf view also but it didn't. The villa was clean but I was taken back a bit by the little roach "motels" in the kitchen as I have never seen them in any other villa I've stayed in over the years; however, never saw a bug in the villa of any kind :-). We ate at Rum Bay restaurant, which never disappoints; we love this place. Their food is good and their signature drink - the Rum Bay Smash - is so delicious; I highly recommend giving it a try. I love Palm Island and cannot wait for our next visit.
Robert C. from Viera, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2014 Thoroughly enjoyed you resort Had a great time. Beach Villa was superb and enjoyed your two restaurant s. Am planning to return in near future.
A guest from Eagle Lake, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2014 We stayed in early June and were so pleased at the quiet/calm of the area. You can do different water outings or do nothing but enjoy the views.
Adam L. from Tampa, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in March, 2014 Although this particular Villa was only available for the one night, we enjoyed it very much. We were able to transfer into a 2 bedroom the following for the remainder of our stay on the Island.
Mark U. from Edina, MN recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2014 My wife and I enjoyed a nice, relaxing week away from th crowd on beautiful Palm Island. We'll definitely return next year.
A guest from Carlisle, MA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in February, 2014 It is a very friendly place and staff, also very helpful. I do wish beach umbrella were available other than by rent. The villa was lovely and comfortable.
A guest from Dixon, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2014 Great escape from the below zero weather! Wonderful, relaxing paradise. The staff was wonderful. Chris did a great job on the kyak tour!
Lynn S. from Garrett, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in January, 2014 Very pretty area. right on the beach. villa very comfortable. only problem was dealing with boat that transported you from the mainland to island. It didn't cost anything since you are renting but it could take up to 1/2 hr. to get from mainland to island since this is the only way to get there.
David & Holly L. from Sarasota, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2013 We really didn't know what to expect, as this was our first vacation to Palm Island. Our accommodations were beautiful and our condo was updated, bright, cheery and very clean. The bed was comfortable, too. The pool and hot tub was just a short walk from our condo and the beach was beautiful. All the staff was helpful and very professional. We will definitely be back again!!
Ryan B. from Clemson, SC recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2013 Palm Island was amazing! The rental we were in was stocked very well and was perfectly located. There was nothing we needed it didn't have. The beaches... One of the best shelling beaches I have ever stepped foot upon. And quiet! I love having the feeling you have you own private beach. Stump Pass beach area will always hold a special place for us.. It is where we where I proposed. I can only think of one staff member that wasn't overly friendly other than that they were great. Just overall wonderful experience!
Elizabeth A. from West Palm Beach, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2013 Exactly what a vacation should be. The staff was so friendly from the moment we booked over the phone with Marty to the moment we checked out. We went because it was a friend's birthday, they had been there te first time through a Groupon offer... Now all three couples that went are making it a yearly (if not more often) place to vacation at. Thank you for everything!
Don J. from Wesley Chapel, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2013 It has been 5 years since we last stayed at Palm Island Resort, and I am extremely disappointed about all the over-growth between the villas and the beach. I felt like I was walking thru a jungle just to get to the beach. And because of this 'nature preserve' (which you will probably claim), more than half the people in our party got extremely bitten by bugs, which were very painful. I never want to again have to apply sunscreen AND deet just to get to and enjoy your beach. Very disappointing. Used to never be like that. Also, we ran out of paper towels, called housekeeping, and did not get a new roll until the next day. Poor, poor service. Only when it was convenient for you. I'll think twice before staying here again.
A guest from Boca Raton, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2013 I surprised my husband of 28 years with a trip to Palm Island Resort and the resort exceeded my expectations. Everyone at the resort could not have been more pleasant, and the accommodations were perfect. I also surprised my husband with a boat rental from allure boat rental company. They delivered the boat (for a fee) to the resort, which was very convenient. My husband and I will definitely be back!
A guest from Largo, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2013 The weather was poor so that did not help. Our rental was excellent and we have stayed in this one before and love the views and location. I have been going to Palm Island with my husband and his family for the last 3 years and this was the first time the front office staff was not friendly and prompt at check in. Every other time we have gone to Palm Island we have gotten into our rental before 3 and the front office staff seemed to do everything they could to accommodate us. This time we arrived around 1pm and one of the front office staff did not even look at me but said with her back turned "it won't be ready until 3". Also, I asked if I could be on the email list to receive information about rentals from time to time and she said I was but I said I was not because my sister in law always has to foward me her emails and again she said " we'll you should get them". Coincidently when we returned my sister in law received yet another email and I did not get so I " should" be on the list but I am not. We did not get into our villa until nearly 5, the front office staff seemed disorganized when i finally received my keys. When we went to go pick up our golf cart, one younger associate was nice however the other woman working there was not and was questioning whether we made reservations, she seemed just overall flustered as if we were inconveniencing her. One young man who worked in the ice cream shop was very nice and welcoming and we did appreciate him. Overall we always love coming to Palm Island, but perhaps the from office staff would benefit from continuing education on hospitality.
A guest from Hudson, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2013 We were celebrating our anniversary. It was a relaxing, wonderful time. The beach and view were great. Everything was first rate.
A guest from Tampa, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2013 Except for the weather, my stay would have been perfect!
Property Manager Response: Response from Palm Island Resort Nicholas, Thank you for your feedback regarding your stay at Palm Island Resort. We are sorry to hear the weather was less than expected during your stay. We hope the sun will be shining on your next visit to make for that perfect vacation.
Scott H. from Taylors, SC recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in February, 2013 Overall our experience was very good. We utilized a "Living Social" offer for this vacation which seemed very reasonable. The unit was very nice, well decorated, and nicely located to services, restaurant, and beach. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the restuarants and the reasonable pricing. The beach shelling was better than Sanibel! The inclusion of use of the ferry and water taxi was a plus as well. Our deal included rental of a golf cart for our stay and a half day rental of a kayak. One of our kayaks was in pretty bad shape and lacked foot pegs, a seat cushion and the seatback adjustment straps were broken, which made seating position and rowing uncomfortable. This was the only negative in our visit. Palm Island Resort was a very good find for us. Keep up the good work!
Lou L. from Palms River, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2013 Could not have been more satisfied. Although we had traveled less than 50 miles from our Fort Myers to get there we felt as if we were a thousand miles away. Great accommodations, great beaches, very good restaurants. We definitely plan to return.
Larry K. from Lake St. Louis, MO recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in January, 2013 Palm Island is very unique ... very relaxing. Our unit was in a great location .. close to the restaurant and other facilities. I would definitely rent this unit again if we visited Palm Island.
A guest from St Petersburg, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2013 My wife and I have come to Palm Island for years, and it never disappoints. We have stayed in this particular unit twice, and it is our favorite one-bedroom. Light, airy, and inviting. Very relaxing, even for just a weekend . . . but you'll want more.
A guest from Bristol, CN recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2013 We had a delightful time and the weather was so nice, too. The villa had a lovely view of the gulf.Very friendly and helpful staff.
A guest from Fort Myers, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in December, 2012 One of the best beaches in Florida and not crowded at all. Perfect spot for R&R. Quality of food at restaurant mediocre.
Carolyn E. from Englewood, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2012 The perfect place to have a lovely weekend to destress, soak in incredible beauty and plan for a return trip the following year. Great accommodations, beach, reservation process, restaurant, and seashells!!
Chanel B. from Dunelin, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2012 If you want to unwind and relax this is the perfect place. Its just the beach and you, thats it!! Not very many activities
David R. from Sarasota, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2012 This is the second time that we've been to Palm Island and we love it for it's relaxation and beauty. The villa we stayed in last year was fabulous. This year, it seemed like the villa had not been updated in quite some time. The shower doors didn't close right, we were told we would have a large tv, and the one in the unit we had was smaller than the one we have in our bedroom at home. The only bad experience we had on either of our visits was in the restaurant. Last year I had fish for dinner one night and it was bad. I don't mean that it just tasted bad, it was spoiled. The woman at the table next to us said she had gotten sick on the same fish the night before. On this trip, we had pizza one night from the restaurant, and it tasted worse than a frozen pizza. We tried one more time the next night and my salad was full of brown lettuce, my husband had wings and potatoe skins. The wings were good. The celery that came with the wings actually had dirt on it. The potatoe skins were overcooked and had hardly any topping on them. Our experience on the island was great, but just don't eat the food.
Robert M. from Orlando, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in June, 2012 very relaxing atmosphere. The beach was amazing. Biggest shells we have ever seen and plenty of them. Very good food at Rum Bay Restaurant. Overall extremely satisfied.
Scott N. from Cape Coral, recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in June, 2012 This is a great place with a whole different feel from mainland Florida. Once you park your car, there are no cars allowed in the resort and it's quite large and spread out. A golf cart is necessary if you want to get the most out of your stay. We reserved a cart but when we checked in there was no record of it to be found. The carts were sold out and we were never able to obtain one. We felt we were unable to enjoy it to the fullest and had to depend on the staff to shuttle us around. It's not pleasant to wait around for a ride when you have limited time to spare. A cart for each unit should be included with an option to decline instead. They are part of the experience if you want to experience the whole property.
Carlos C. from Cape Coral, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2012 This was our 13th visit to Palm Island in 12 years. No matter what else we do for vacation, if we don't have our time at Palm Island we haven't really had a a vacation. It is our most favorite place in the world. It is BEAUTIFUL, PEACEFUL, and a "little bit of Heaven on earth!" To say we love this place is an understatement!!!!!
Mary F. from Fort Myers, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2012 This was our 13 year coming and we love it! The coconuts staff was top notch this years. The guys were all very friendly. Everything is just perfect, except, the food could be better at Rum Bay.
A guest from Dearborn, MI does not recommend this property. Stayed for 1 days in May, 2012 Stayed for one night on the mainland prior to moving to the island resort. Condo looked out to the marina but was the end unit next to the parking lot so it wasn't a great view. A little disappointing since we have been frequent guests of the island resort and I thought we would get a better room. Unit itself was very adequate, but the furnishings are very dated. Unit was very clean. It was an o.k. stay but I would probably choose the Hampton Inn in Venice as we have in the past when arriving early for an island stay. For us it was convenient since we were launching a boat the next morning--by the way, the Marina people are super! I have thought of the mainland part of the resort as a less expensive long term (month) location for winter, but have nixed that idea. By the way, Johnny Leverocks still has lousy food. Except for being nearly the only restaurant around I don't know how it stays open. All in all, I rate the mainland condos as just o.k.
A guest from Dearborn, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2012 We have been to Palm Island several times before and the area never disappoints. It is one of the few resorts I've been to where you can walk a beautiful beach and feel you are the only one there. Outstanding for wildlife-sea birds, turtles, manatees, dolphins. Water is clean and crystal clear. Shelling is great. The beach is never crowded. Boating and fishing the best. The pool area is nice, but a few umbrellas for shade would be great for those really hot days. Our unit was nicely decorated but the furnishings are showing their age and should be updated soon. You could live on the porch with its beautiful view. Kitchen was good, and had everything we needed. For a one bedroom condo, it was well layed out. We ran out of clean linens but they were replaced promptly with a call to housekeeping. Rum Bay restaurant's food is improved but still not great-the night we ate there the carpeting was dirty with food spills and service just ok-decor is tired. Lots of room for improvement and we would have eaten there more if the food had been better. Johnny Leverocks is just plain bad. Don't waste money there. People at the marina are super. You will need to rent a golf cart to get around the resort since cars are all parked in a central lot. That's a hidden cost-the only alternative is walking-there are no shuttles except at check-in and check-out. All in all, you can find a more upscale experience in terms of accomodations at other resorts-the Palm Island units need updating-but they also don't cost as much as some other places. The resort is mostly about finding a quiet, peaceful, beautiful place to enjoy the ocean. If frills and nightlife are important to you, this might not be the right place for you. Taking everything into consideration I still give Palm Island Resort top marks.
A guest from Venice, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in December, 2011 While we only stayed one night, this was a great getaway for us. The beach and palm tree views from the well decorated villa and gulf breeze were calming. The beach was pristine and different from ours only 30 minutes away--lots more shore birds and good shelling.I found dozens of fossil shark's teeth to replenish my giveaway jar for visitors. After a cookout on gas grills, the hot tub and pool were a relaxing way to end the evening. We found we really didn't need a golf cart. Everything was close and we enjoyed walking to the pass along the beach. There were games and books for longer stay visitors and families, activities, kayaking, and you can bring your fishing gear or rent some. The staff were all very pleasant and welcoming. The carpet in our unit was on it's last legs but clean. There was a bit of mold in the caulking of the tub, but it's Florida. I have the same problem at home. What a great place for vacation with children who enjoy the beach. We plan to come back again.
A guest from Bradenton, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2011 We have been to this resort several times. Some units are more updated than others. The resort staff has always been very professional. We did encounter some issues this time, however, not enough to keep us from coming back. Overall a great little escape for relaxation and some quiet.
Joseph G. from Nokomis, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2011 Our stay was excellent until the last night. The peacefulness was distrubed by a group of 200 college students renting some villas. They were noisy and making disturbance well after midnight. These type rentals are not consistent with what one expects from this type of property. Had this happended the first night we would have been very unhappy and requested a refund. This will be a consideration in the future in our decision to return and it is something we would tell any friends wanting to consider the location.
A guest from Spring Hill, Florida recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2010 This was my third visit to Palm Island. I was a bit dissapointed as I did ask for an upgraded unit. My first visit was not an upgrade. My second visit was an absolutly beautiful upgraded unit with granite kitchen counters, all updated furnishings and spotless. Now, this third visit, was just OK. I was a bit disappointed as the resort was extremely empty so I would think you would of been able to upgrade units to just keep your patrons returning.
Judith K. from New Port Richey, Florida does not recommend this property. Stayed for 1 days in August, 2010 Extreem heat made for an unpleasant stay.Unit was old but clean. Sat on chair anfelt a lump. It was a filthy hair brushbehimd the back pillow. Maids obviouslydo not check furniture when cleaning. We booked a 2 bedroom and was put in a 1bed. Front desk said person who took myreservation had been fired. Never received a conformation email or I wouldhave caught the mistake before we arrived.Tried to walk to pool but golf carts passing by kicked up so much white dustI could not breath. You have to spend $50 a day to rent a cart or you cannot get around in the summer. Heat and dust are too great. Someone picked me up in their cart and a yellow snake crossed our path. Thank God I was not walking there. I saw two snakes in the path in the short time I was there. No cars are allowed on the Island (which is nice) but forces you to walk everywhere or rent carts.
A guest from Tampa, Florida recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2010 We had a relaxing stay at Palm Island and wish we could have stayed longer. We purchased the couples weekend retreat and enjoyed the the chilled lobster picnic. Staff was not on the same page with how the picnic worked or the water taxi. When the reservation was made they told us to pick it up at so and so time. Went to get the picnic and they had tried to deliver it to the villa. Was told when we were done with the picnic to call and they would pick everything up, when we called, the staff member said we had to take it back to the restaurant. We also made a reservation to take the water taxi to Leverocks. When the taxi arrived he said he would not be able to bring us back that it would be to late? When we finished eating dinner we watched the water taxi take a couple back? So we took the car ferry over. Those were our to little gripes. The villa was very clean and quiet. The beach is great, hardly a soul. Millions of seashells to pick up on the beach. Sand dollars still in the water. All kinds of birds. We also saw a manatee and its calf when exploring one of the docks.
Patricia & William S. from Apopka, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in July, 2010 As a rule for over thirty years we have always stayed off the Gulf in the Redington Shores area so coming to this region was a new experience. Unfortunately it rained throughout the whole visit but this didn't reflect on the actual resort's performance( good old mother nature). We loved it!
A guest from Tampa, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in May, 2010 Palm Island was the perfect weekend get-a-way for our family! We can't wait to plan another trip back! It is close enough to home yet gives you the feeling of being far away from everything.
LINDA S. from SPARTA, NJ recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2010 My family has been going to Palm Island for over 20 years, and we always have a wonderful time. The property is simply lovely, and the people who work at the resort are great. This past visit was to celebrate my 25 wedding anniversary, and everything was perfect. The only problem was that the vacation had to eventually come to an end, and it is very very sad to leave. Thanks for all the years of enjoyment.Linda Sutton
John P. from Dayton, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in April, 2010 Please do not tell anyone about this wonderful getaway. It's like being on your own private Island. From the beautiful beach to the lush tropical palm trees and floral surrondings. The staff are like old friends from the moment you arrive. In fact we loved it so much we bought a villa of our own the second day we were there. Remember keep it a secret!
bill g. from Englewood, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in March, 2010 The stay was perfect in all regards except one. When we checked in Friday afternoon we heard construction going on in the unit below the one we were renting. This ended about Friday evening at 6 pm, however it started up again Saturday morning at 8 am and lasted until about 5 pm that afternoon. I understand that maintenance must be performed, but the non-stop hammering and sawing definitely hampered the peace and serenity we were looking for on Palm Island. Staff was understanding, but couldn't really help. There were many positive memories throughout our stay alongside this major disruption. Had I known that we would have such a racket right below us for over half our stay, I would not have chosen Palm Island for this engagement weekend with my fiancee.

Kim B. from Orlando, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2009 Our second husband of 30 years and I spent one of the best weeks of our lives on your special island. It was like our own private resort. I loved Rum Bay's food, loved playing tennis...and of course looked forward every night to the gorgeous sunsets.
A guest from ROSWELL, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in June, 2008 My husband and I visited Palm Island in 2002 for a 3 day weekend and truly enjoyed it. This time we met some friends and took our duaghter. We truly enjoyed our weeklong stay this time as well. The children frolicked in the sand and surf and truly enjoyed the walks on the beach; both day and night while being mindful of the nesting turtles and other wildlife. We enjoyed wonderful weather, magnificent sunsets and peaceful nights by the beach. We witnessed abundant nature, whether by land, air or sea; bunnies, egrets and dolphins. The flora was abundant, varied and beautiful. However, I was extremely surprised and a bit disappointed that an island, which would like to remain pristine in nature, thought and philosophy does not participate in a recycling program. I thought that was a bit of an oxymoron, but do hope that a recycling program is in Palm Island's immediate future plans. Thank you!Liby
Property Manager Response:
Thank you very much for your comments. We have been trying to coordinate our waste management to handle our recycling, but they will not, at this time, pick more than combined trash. This has been a very frustrating process for us and for me personally. I believe that we need to maintain our resources for our future. Please know that it is my wish as well. I appreciate your concern and I will continue to pursade our company to go "Green". I look forward to your next visit! DJ Cutler, Director of Hopsitality Operations.
Susan C. from Rockford, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in March, 2008 We traveled extensively before the kids were born. As the kids grew they developed a love for travel and exploration as well. Now that we found Palm Island if the kids wish to discover new places they may have to do that more on their own because we are staying here! We love the laid-back feeling. Each day brings new discoveries rather than planned manicured experiences. We are considering buying a lot and building. It truly is a national treasure.
Alison R. from New Port Richie, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2007 I absolutely LOVE Palm Island and have been coming to the island since I was a child. My favorite thing about Palm Island is that it is not overrun by tourists. It is pristine and secluded which allows me to completely relax.
The only negative is the food at Rum Bay. I wish the quality was better.
