A guest from Tampa, FL. recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2016 Great experience at Palm Island. Only one negative thing. On arrival we were informed that the island was on a water boil alert. We felt like we should have been informed of this in advance so that we could have brought extra bottled water. At the least, the resort should have provided a case of water to the guests.
A guest from Chicago, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2015 The rental experience went reAlly smooth! The staff was great and willing to help in any way they could. The wedding we attended turned out BEautiful! The one bummer in the area were the bugs! We came away with a lot of bites but came away with great memories!!
A guest from Rotonda West, FL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2015 Palm Island is a wonderful spot for a vacation or quick getaway. The resort is maintained very well and is beautiful. The staff is excellent. We had a wonderful time. We've been coming to the island for 15 years and have always been very satisfied with the units. The one that we stayed in this time, #2111 is very much in need of some TLC. The unit itself has a mold smell. When we returned home we had to wash everything that we had taken with us. Everything smelled like mold. Even our hair! The carpets are dirty and the throw rugs in the bathrooms need to be replaced. They are filthy and falling apart. There are burners on the stove that don't work and it's in pretty bad condition. Most of the doors need replaced and the entire unit could really use a paint job. This is the first time that we were disappointed with a unit. The general store has good ice cream ,coffee, and breakfast sandwiches. They have a very good selection of beer & wine, but that's about it. We didn't take any supplies with us except water as we had planned on getting anything that we needed on the island. They have the basics...milk, eggs, bread, butter, and water. The store is in a different location than it was on our previous trips. It used to be upstairs across from Rum Bay Restaurant. When they were up there they had a great selection of items. Rum Bay restaurant is very good and the staff is very friendly. We had lunch and dinner there for our entire stay and every meal was delicious. Overall we had a very nice and relaxing getaway.
A guest from Pembroke Pines, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2014 This was an excellent stay all around ! Debbie Curtis did a fine job to make us VERY comfortable. Chef Khoum - God bless him ! What a great guy. The private dinner at the Villa was excellent. So much food that we saved it for lunch and savored it the next day. The Villa was very comfortable. It was a surprise Birthday present for my wife. I can tell you, Debbie and Chef Khoum helped me earn some serious brownie points :- ) Thank you all for the fantastic experience !
Cesar B. from Clearwater, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2013 My wife, my children and I had the most relaxing and bonding time at this resort. We felt like being in our own island and in paradise on earth.
Scott C. from Summerset, Mass recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in April, 2013 The design and layout of the resort gives Palm Island a remote island vibe. The surroundings are peaceful and beautiful. The residents were friendly, and the staff were helpful. The wedding was perfect in every way.
Patricia O. from Odesa, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2012 At night we could hear the rats in the walls. Vent in 2nd room was very dirty and made the room smell. Cockroach was next to refrig on the floor dead. Master bedroom shower was slow to drain. Staff was great.
A guest from Tampa, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2012 Pros: The resort is a relaxing escape from the hectic real world. The property is nicely maintained and naturally preserved, the staff courteous and friendly, and resort restaurant had a nice selection of different foods. Our villa was simply decorated, but had everything we needed, including cookware and utensils. I would have liked to see a better selection of basic cooking spices, including cooking oil. The DVD selection was a nice touch that was offered. Cons: Our stay included a 2 day golf cart rental; after the first day, it was taken away sometime in the evening versus early morning without our knowledge. In addition, I would have liked the rental shop to have guests' credit card information on file instead of requesting to see a credit card prior to rental of golf carts, bikes, etc. I liked the convenience of using the guest villa pass to buy goods and snacks, and would like for it to be accepted at all shops on the properties. In addition, we had trouble with the DVD player. There were no problems with watching television, but when the dvd player was turned on, we were unable to watch our movies. I am sure that the problem could have been easily resolved with a quick phone call to guest services. Overall, looking forward to next visit for sure.
Maria S. from Palm Bay, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2012 Our family had an AMAZING time at Palm Island- BECAUSE we are nature lovers! We had manatees swimming within 3 feet of us in the ocean, dolphins swimming under our kayaks, caught crabs, and live conchs, had run ins with armadillos and golpher tortoises. The island is beautiful and our villa was lovely as well. HOWEVER do NOT be fooled- there are no activities planned during your stay there. The island ONLY has 5 kayaks for rent (they were booked the entire weekend we were there. The one restaurant on the island closed by 9PM (we just made it after watching the beautiful west coast sunset) and the water taxi to the mainland restaurant stops returning to palm island by 8:15. So, unless you LOVE the beach and nature- this is not the place to do as there is NOTHING else on the island to occupy your time.
Scott M. from Amelia, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in June, 2011 Our stay was great the island was beautiful and the condo was nice, right on the beach. The pool was great also, but a little walk. The only headache was that our condo was switched out of under us at the last minute, we were givin an "ungraded" condo but it wasn't.
Donna K. from Sarasota, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2011 Hi. We loved your property but had a very upsetting experience with reservations. We were traveling with another family and were promised to be staying next to them, and assured it was marked "Do not move" in the reservation. I checked an additional two times, including the day before our travels. We have 6 kids between the two families that planned on running back and forth between the villas, and the fact that we could have side by side villas guaranteed was the main reason we settled on Palm Island. When we got there, the other family had been moved and we were given one excuse after another as to why it happened. The other family, the Macleods, were then placed in another building but we were told that the units were still beside each other (each on the end of their respective buildings). This too was not true. We were very angry and I don't know that we'd return, since your reservation staff can not be held to their word. Oh, as a consolation, we were given free cocktail vouchers, which I did not feel adequately made up for your mistake.
Great getaway for families with kids under 12 or for people that just want to get away in a quiet, beautiful spot
A guest from Gates Mills, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in December, 2009 Like any vacation, you need to think about what you expect. This spot is perfect for the quieter getaway with enough amenities to be convenient, but without the pace and plethora of options that can be distracting. We had 9- ages 2-60- did a massive shopping before arriving on the island, and never had to (nor wanted to leave). Close heated pool, grill, easy access to a walkable beach was all we needed.
HOOLEY G. from naples, FL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in November, 2009 While some of the units are in good condition, others are poorly maintained. in particular, most of the mattresses are really in need of being replaced!
Property Manager Response: Response from Palm Island Resort Dear Hooley Family. We were so pleased to have you stay with us again this year. We will review the condition of the units your occupied this year and share this information with the owners of the units where imporvements need to be made. Thank you again for your time in responding to our survey. DJ Cutler, Director of Hospitality Operations

Martin K. from Matthews, NC does not recommend this property. Stayed for 6 days in June, 2009 Several years ago we stayed in the unit we recently rented..... and since then not much has changed in that unit.Overall, we felt the unit was old and tired. The living room furniture was worn and in need of updating. The size and quality of the televisions in the unit were a joke (something larger than 13" and widescreen expected). The beds, barely adequate. And worse of all, my daughter woke up one morning to find a cockcaroach on her pillow. We also found a roach in the master bedroom. For the nearly $2,000 we paid for our week's stay the quality of the unit did not meet our expectations and it is unlikely we will return.Martin Kennelly

Ellen and Paul B. from Portsmouth, RI recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in April, 2008 I would like to see a better emphasis on the variety and quality of healthy foods offered at the general store.
Jan P. from Sarasota, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2007 We had a rather eventful stay. We stayed on a very cold Florida weekend and there was an issue with the waterheater in the middle of the night. The maintenance crew was very helpful and moved us to another unit first thing in the morning. We were very satisfied with the follow through by all of the staff.
Excellent place to relax and to get contact with nature and yourself!!
Claudia G. from Hollywood, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2007 The place`was very clean and the people in the island are very friendly. I will come back anytime is possible!!!
