This year we tried the month of Feb.alone; a very different experience but we absolutely loved it even though it was cooler. We had morning sun but would have liked the afternoon sunny side. What a fabulous way to spend the winter and we hope to add on months as the years go by. Sandpiper would always be our choice with the way the complex is designed and Bender Realty giving such a personal touch. |

However, the toilets bubble up and frequently splash dirty water on the seat and floor. The furniture in the living area is in poor condition - cushions on the sofa sink below the rim and the chair is hard and uncomfortable from years of use. It badly needs updating and repair. |

Vacation 6/12/10 15B Sandpiper A guest from LaGrange, KY recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2010 We loved our vacation at The Sandpiper. Our family meets there every year and rent multiple condos. It is family friendly with the connecting decks. The condition of the Sandpiper as a whole is very good. I would have given more stars on property's general condition, but 15B needs some updates. Electronics in the main room are old and outdated. A 19-20" old TV just doesn't make sense with flat screens so cheap now. Needs carpet replaced or tile put down as other condos have. Bedding was good, but could use new comforters. Could use a stand or shelves in the bathrooms. Unit was clean and Management is very nice and willing to help with any concern. You can feel the southern hospitality within the Bender office. They are very nice people and want your vacation to be great. The oil spill contamination of Gulf Shores was way over blown by the media. Not to say there was no oil, just not near as bad as being reported. We had a few days of very small oil droplets. We've had a lot more trouble with jelly fish in the past. Beach was great with workers out there every day looking for debris. Beach was cleaner than normal! The silver lining in the cloud was... with so many people staying away, it was a lot less crowded :) I would recommend coming down to Gulf shores and specifically making your stay at The Sandpiper. |

Another wonderful week at Sandpiper A guest from Springfield, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2009 Our family have come year after year to Sandpiper. We have stayed in various condos. 15B was ok but very poorly stocked with kitchen supplies. There was only 4 forks and just a couple sharp (enough to cut butter) knives. Also, there needed to be some cookie sheets and other baking pans, 9x13, jelly roll size pan, etc. Also, both toilets ran continuously and were slow to flush. And the stackable w/d needs to be replaced, esp. the washer. The lid stuck back constantly. Finally, this is for the general facility. There needs to be more deck chairs outside each condo, at least 4 per condo. Some had 1 and some had 4-5! We will be back next year but are already booked for 7B hoping that condo will be more updated. |

Stayed for 5 days in January, 2009 I read that a few Sandpiper units had older bedding, furniture damaged, outdated kitchens, etc., so I was a little leery of renting at Sandpiper. I was pleasantly surprised with 15B. The furniture and bedding was newer (not lumpy), the carpets were newer and clean, the kitchen was newer and clean. The one single complaint was that not a single remote control worked on any TV. I don't know if batteries needed to be changed or the proper remotes were not there, but we didn't care too much. We were on vacation, not there to watch TV! |
