ALL CABINS HAVE A STANDARD REFUNDABLE SECURITY DEPOSIT, A HOUSEKEEPING CHARGE AND 6% CALAVERAS COUNTY TAX IN ADDITION TO THE RENT. 3 Night Minimum; Dec 16 - Jan 3. This Dome cabin main bedroom has an alcove to sleep a small child , The cabin has level access. Woodstove Only; no central heat, TV, VCR, DVD, cable, stereo, Sony Playstation, microwave, W&D., King, 1 queen hideabed, 1 double futon, 2 single pad futons. Heated by wood burning stove ONLY.

Fun Family Weekend A guest from Pacifica, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in March, 2011 We had a great time at this cabin. The property was great, well appointed and had plenty of room. The only draw back is that it is not super toddler friendly. The stairs are open, there are electric outlets everywhere and a loft with an opening that an adult could fit through. Other that that it was a perfect cabin for a weekend retreat! |

Dirty Ice Box A guest from Pismo Beach, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2010 This unit is not heated. We arrived at 9:00 pm to a 38 degree house (18 degrees outside) with no heater except a woodstove that was supposed to be an amenity, not a necessity. We had to search for wood and what we found was wet. The power goes out frequently, per the note on the refer, but no lanterns,or flashlights are available to the renter. The positive was that the Manager stopped by after a tree fell through the deck and made sure we were alright. Property Manager Response: Response from Big Trees Vacation Rentals This unit is heated by a wood burning stove as noted on our website. Additional wood for this cabin is located downstairs and inside, not sure where wet wood was found? The mountain storms can bring on power outages not to just this cabin but to others as well. There are many candles in this cabin should outage occurr as well as available flashlights. We always encourage our guests to come prepared for the bad weather, this means bringing car chains, flashlights, etc. It is the mountains and the weather conditions can become extreme at times. We work very hard to please our customers. Sorry the mountain experience at this cabin did not work for these guests. |

The Dome! A guest from Santa Clara, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2010 The Dome is AWESOME! I was a little hesitant at first, but once we got there we loved it. It is very big and a really fun place to spend a few days. |

Very poor management Anupama R. from Cupertino, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in December, 2010 We visited in December, and had a very poor experience :John White and Maureen Seider were very friendly before we made the booking.The phone was not working in the rental, it was snowing very badly, cell phone reception was not available in the rental area, and when we informed the Dan/Maureen/John, their response was sorry, nothing we can do ! We could've had a heart attack three at night, with no way to even call 911.There was no shovelling service available. We were completely snowed under that weekend, neighbouring houses had the service, but I guess Big Trees Vacation rentals did not set this up at all. When we called, their response was, it did not snow so badly ( ..implying we're lying ! )And then when we came back, we get a call from Maureen saying there was some spot on the carpet and they charged us the entire security deposit. We'd asked for pictures ( before/after ), so we could see what we'd supposedly done, but none came our way, and they just charged our card. All in all a very poor experience. Would not recommend to anyone. Property Manager Response: Response from Big Trees Vacation Rentals These guests were without phone and electricity as everyone else was during the storm that occurred during part of their stay. Phone company was called as well as the power company informed of the outage. Unfortunately, we as a rental company cannot restore the power or phones, this is up to the individual companies that were callled. The repair is not immediate when so many cabins have been involved. This cabin is heated by a wood burning stove so the cabin stayed very warm. Power was out less than 24hrs. We are responsible for maintaining our owners properties and when damage has occurred to a cabin by a guest we are held accountable to take care of it. Guests are responsible for damages that have occurred during their stay. We felt that we did our part at helping these customers the very best we could. |

Stayed for 3 days in August, 2010 We really enjoyed our stay. Our questions were answered quickly and everything was very clean. Acoustics are different since it is a dome. We love the area and are looking foreward to visiting agin. There is just so much to see and do there. Have them whisper along the walls and if you stand in the middle of the room you can tell them what they are saying. It is proof positive that parents have "Super Hearing". |

Christmas @ the Tindall Cabin Amanda B. from Mantica, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2009 We had the best Christmas ever at the Tindall. I will never forget it!! Yes, it was cold at first (hahaha) but once we got the fire going (and kept feeding it) everything was A-ok!! Parking was more than adequate. Only saw ONE spider the whole time. Showers were great (water pressure & all!) Wonderful movie collection! Plenty of sleep space. The acoustics of the dome were very interesting!!We had a great time!! only suggestion...bring blankets & warm clothing! SPACE HEATERS were a big help!! Property Manager Response: Response from Big Trees Vacation Rentals It is an interesting acoustic experience. If you stand directly in the center you can hear what people say on the perimeter. Its sort of a surround sound. It isn't irritating but your ears will catch the change as you walk across the room. |

Our Stay at Tindell Cheryl W. from Castro Valley, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2008 First, we had a great time. Unfortunately, we had to shovel our way through snow to get to the door. I would have thought that would have been done for us. Sound is an issue due to this unusual cabin shape, so if you have a large group, be prepared! The kitchen did not have a good selection of pots and pans, but we find that frequently and ensured we brought our own, considering we were traveling as a group of 10. There was plenty of wide open living space at this cabin, perfect for a large group. We would definately use this cabin again! |

Tindell cabin donna p. from Alameda, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2008 This cabin is not great if you have kids. There is no heat other than the wood burning stove and it took about 12 hours before the house was not freezing cold. The futon was lumpy and old. There was food in the couch cushions. Porch was covered with snow and took us 2 hours to clear a path. The stove was so old we couldn't see the indicators to read how to work it. When it came to the rental company, they sent us over to the house with the wrong keys. They gave us poor information about sledding options. We will return to Big Trees, but will hesitate working with this reality company in the future. |
