I'd like to live there or to have a 1/4 share place. However my wife is aquaphobic and my legs are not too good so I think that these 2 factors preclude our having a place. If there were rentals allowed for the 1/4 shares I think that we would buy one though. |

SOME TIMES YOU WIN SOMETIMES YOU LOSE A guest from TAMPA, FL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2012 We have been going to Palm Island off and on for about 24 years! This was really the only year we were disappointed. The kitchen was full of ants, got into our food, they put new traps down but didn't help. The office gave us 2 free pizzas and 4 ice creams. The day we left I told the cleaning people that they had a BIG ANT PROBLEM! Also when we got there we thought our fridge wasn't working, so maintance was suppose to come up one night they never did, so then after hours the guard came up, and he thought what we thought that we needed to up plud it, thought it was going to catch on fire, so in the mean time they got us a cooler and a mini fridge, lost our frozen pizza no place to put that. Next day the fridgeman came to work on the fridge and said nothing wrong with it. It just wasn't a good trip this time. Not good at all. You go on vacation to get rid of stress and it stayed with us. But like I said we never had problems like this before. I just won't stay in a unit with the #13 again. |

Travis at the front desk was not very friendly at all. Seemed annoyed at my questions and lack of understanding with the ferry service. One of the attendants who picked us up on the golfcart was texting on this cell phone and didn't even look up to acknowledge we sat down on the golf cart. |

Stayed for 3 days in June, 2012 We were at Palm Island for a wedding and not all of the staff was very accommodating. We had issues with transportation to the wedding even though we called two hours in advance for the ride. There was an issue with our fridge. It did not cool the entire first day and we had to use someone else's that we knew. There were also issues with the plugs in our room and the T.V. didn't work in my in laws villa. We had to ask on numerous occasions to have the pools unlocked hours after they were supposed to be. Overall the place is beautiful but there were minor issues throughout our stay. Jimmy was very nice! |

Stayed for 7 days in July, 2011 I was a little concerned heading to the beach in the middle of the summer but we had a GREAT Time. We were in a 3 bdrm villa on the ocean and right next to the pool. We took our boat for fishing and the convenience of the boat slip, pool, beach, and great facilities made this one of our best family vacations. There 6 adults and two little ones, 2 and 3 years old. Plenty of room for everyone -- we will definitely be back soon. |

Properties Should be Held to a Consitent Standard SHARON M. from SCANEATELES, NY does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in April, 2011 The Magees and Langhans have been coming to Palm Island for years. We have recommended the resort to friends and family, and brought 14 members of a tennis team there. The outside grounds have seen wonderful improvements and maintenance. However, we were very disappointed at the condition of our unit this year and feel it is not to the PI standard. Homeowners should be required to keep their units to a certain standard of repair and furnishings. Our unit had pealing linoleum, rusted and dirty metal finishes, and very worn and uncomfortable furnishings. When you charge a higher-end resort fee, you must provide a better than average interior. This experience has made us rethink our intentions of recommending this resort going forward - at least without the caveat of 'renter beware'. Another option which many other resorts employ would be have two rate levels - one for nice units, and one for the worn units. This would provide incentive for homeowners to upgrade their units - and for renters, at least you would feel like you get what you paid for. Stayed for 5 days in December, 2007 great location and accomodations. construction was going on the outside of our unit and was so a little noisy and the landscaping in our area was very torn up. there was lots of heavy equipment around as well. would suggest telling guests of this and if you have to put them in sections under construction then discount the stay. also, limited trips on the ferry to palm island and limited hours at the ferry was not convenient. |
