Labor Day Weekend Stay
Camille R. from Sanford, FL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2016 I was very disappointed with my stay this year. We have come in years past with great memories and experiences. This year we were moved to a different unit due to flooding from the storm and were so upset by it. I take a lot of time in care in picking which unit I'm renting and this one was so far below par. I don't feel like I recorded the quality that I was paying for in the least. The master bathroom shower is falling apart against the wall, the tile in the laundry room is uneven and sliced the bottom of my foot open, the decor leaves little to be desired and nothing has been updated the way that my other units have been. The pool area was in complete disarray and the long golf cart that I rented for my bigger party was falling apart. My daughter has been sick throwing up since we are at Rum Bay, the cashier at the gift shop was rude and unhelpful and the entire weekend felt like a wasted trip. Upon checking out and voicing my disappointment, the receptionist said they "normally try not to rent that unit" with a regretful look on her face. I'm very upset with how everything went.
We stayed with our son, his girl friend, daughter and her friends
A guest from St Pete, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2016 No one could ever say that their "overall" experience at Palm Island was awful, no way. That would be extremely difficult. That said however, and even admitting we have always had terrific, fantastic family times at Palm Island, this last stay (in terms of the unit we resided in ) was disappointing. Why? We had ants in our master bath...the carpets had remnants of food including cheese, popcorn (some bugs) and some other unidentifiable stuff that wasn't vacuumed up.WW do have to say that the outside far outweighs whats inside.
Terri H. from Sarasota, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2016 We have been taking our family vacation at Palm Island for over five years and have always enjoyed the beachfront villa is in village one. It's a short walk to the beach, close to the pool and quiet.
Bill L. from Huntsville, AL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 14 days in June, 2016 We love coming to Palm Island however the villa was subpar this time.Filthy carpet, kitchen drawer falling off, broken porch chairs, no vacuum cleaner.
Arlene M. from Orlando, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2016 Didn't want to go back to Orlando fl?? I want to stay ?? I am looking to go back soom. I will love to go back for memorial weekend.
A guest from Port Richey, FL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2016 Staff was great! Beautiful location, views and amenities. However, the unit itself has several maintenance issues, which should be addressed if charging this much money per night. There was evidence of mold growth in master bath, next to tub. The mattress in the master room is very worn out and springs could be felt while attempting to sleep. The laminate on the kitchen cabinets is peeling off. The carpet was quite stained and the padding was worn out, so it felt like walking on boards. While we enjoyed the Resort overall, I would not recommend this unit in its' current condition.
Susan T. from Buffalo, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in March, 2016 All was good except that the condo we rented is in definite need of new carpeting and could also use a new mattress on the first floor guest bedroom.
Tracey W. from Saint Petersburg, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in January, 2016 This was our third trip to Palm Island for our group. We have always come over Martin Luther King weekend because its a long weekend for all of us. This island is very secluded, quiet and perfect for a couples getaway. We are three couples all 40 and above who enjoy walking the beach, looking for shells, kayaking, playing tennis and enjoying this winter retreat! This particular trip the three couples had a cook off and enjoyed three days of totally awesome food of 5 star restaurant quality!!Although this unit was large and had plenty of room for six people, the unit had peeling paint and the carpet was in dire need of shampooing.
A guest from Tampa, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in November, 2015 We love coming to Palm Island and getting away from the usual hustle and bustle of everyday city life. This time we brought my in laws and rented the 3 bedroom villa which gave us plenty of room to spread out. Although this particular unit could use some updating and the peeling paint on the walls and the water spots on the ceiling needs some attention, the location of this villa was perfect! Beautiful sunsets, the view of the beach, and location made our visit a getaway to remember. We look forward to our next visit when we can come again.
A guest from Arden Hills, MN does not recommend this property. Stayed for 6 days in April, 2015 been going to PI Resort for 18 years - love the location and seclusion of the beach and pool area. First time I've left disappointed in all my visits. Arrived on Sunday and the AC unit didn't work until Wednesday (it was 90 every day). Then on Wednesday-Friday the unit below us was being renovated. We have a 10 month old child that needs 2 naps a day - they were literally pounding nails into the floor of our 10 month's old bedroom. He couldn't nap for 3 days. No heads up or anything. I mention this upon leaving at checkout and the sales manager (I have the name) says well at least it was only 3 days. My jaw hit the floor - I said do you have kids? And said next time give a heads up to somebody. Manager gives me the card and says call me for your next stay - I'll hook you up. Ok- you are assuming there will be a next stay- what about this stay? Unbelievable experience.
Susan T. from Buffalo, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in March, 2015 Great vacation but I think wifi should be available in all rental units. Kayaking with Kris was wonderful!! Fish tacos at rum bay are delicious. The unit we stayed in could use remodeling. Carpeting in particular needs replacing. Bike rentals work out really well. Bill's tennis program is excellent. The large grill at pool did not work properly.
Marina B. from Jeffeys, Bay recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in December, 2014 We had a wonderfulll holiday at Palm beach. The villas and beach were everything we dreamed of. The villas were clean and comfortable and the surroundings were perfect for as all to enjoy.
Larry H. from Tampa, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in December, 2014 Enjoyed the beach and peace and quiet all the activities tennis bicycling, swimming walking running . But the condo we had 1222 is in need of facelifting inside paint peeling etc. and there were small roaches in the kitchen cabinets and dishwasher. carpet in great room was spotted. otherwise it was clean and linens were clean and thick towels.
Julie A. from Lutz, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2014 We really loved the beautiful views from our condo, and the layout of the place was perfect for our family. It was a nicely decorated and had a lots of places to sit comfortably. Our only complaint with the condo was we did choose the cheapest level condo, and the beds and linens/bedspreads were not the highest grade (uncomfortable). Also, no internet available which was not great for our family. As for the resort, it was gorgeous. Our only complaint there was we really thought the facility golf carts were priced kind of high for rentals, and it was a must to have one! But, overall we enjoyed the stay and would come back again and recommend it to family and friends.
Austin L. from Silver Springs, FL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2014 Great, if we ignored the fact that the exterior siding by the entrance door was missing and the insulation was clearly visible five feet up the wall, the fact that both garbage containers under the entrance staircase landing were overflowing with garbage and the odor made the trip up and down the staircase very uncomfortable, the fact that on the second night I went into the kitchen and observed two roaches crawling over the apple pie my wife had made earlier that evening (for the record a report was filed to the maintenance office) for desert the next day, and finally the fact that all the beach umbrellas are broken and need to be replaced, it?s a wonderful place to visit. This is my second visit in 28 years and probably my last.
A guest from Hudson, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in May, 2014 We love the Palm Island Resort/Don Pedro area and have been staying there the past 27 years. Even though our unit was not cleaned when we arrived, the staff took care of us and compensated us fairly! Our units carpet was my only big complaint! Unacceptable! It was so stained that it made the unit feel dirty all the time. I appreciate the units being priced differently according to updates, but basic cleanliness should be the highest priority when renting to the public!
Cindy J. from Cedar Rapids, IA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in March, 2014 The property was clean and comfortable. The location was great. Every staff member we encountered was very friendly and helpful. Worth every dime. We will be back!!!
Tom M. from Knoxville, Tennessee recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in February, 2014 I don't think your people realize how good they are! This from an old banker **** bent on customer service.
Fantastic staff and unbeatable location brings us back every year
A guest from Gross Point, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in January, 2014 The staff here is the best. Everyone is so helpful and friendly. We love the quiet, car-free resort with villas steps away fron the Gulf. The sand white beaches are great for shelling, shark tooth hunting and sandcastle building. We often had the entire beach to ourselves. My shoulders immediately sink and the stress melts away as soon as my feet hit the sand here. A true paradise!
A guest from Bephalto, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2013 We have been coming to palm island for 30 years. The resort is great but building 12 has issues. If I had known building 12 was under investigation for shoddy workmanship I would have chosen another building for my 3 condo rentals. Other than that we had a great time. I really feel we should have been informed of the units issues.
Kathy C. from Swansea, MA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in April, 2013 I rented a villa with family members to attend my daughters wedding. Everything was wonderful! The villa was immaculate! Transportation was prompt. The food was very delicious. We never ehard the other guests the entire time. Just make sure you stop for some food before you get to your villa. They only have one restaurant which can be pricey.
Joel W. from Valley View, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 11 days in July, 2012 Nice uncrowded beach with lots of shells to collect. Sea turtles nesting on the island, manatees in the surf and good fishing. This is our third trip and will return again.
Mike M. from Phoenix, AZ recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2012 Beautiful apartment. Beautiful view and great grounds. Tropical storm Deb necessitated a hasty departure. Had a wonderful wedding experience nevertheless. Would recommend to a friend.
A guest from Englewood, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2012 Generally nice condo for price, needs up keep in bathrooms paint peeling which I would not expect for $250.00 a night facility. Old washer and dryer but worked when needed. Always stay for Tropical nights, crew does a great job.
A guest from Tampa, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in March, 2012 Very surprised at the bedroom! My teenagers got a good laugh! Was told we could have late check-out, then they called to say we couldn't at last minute...Very rushed departure. Also boat dock in VERY Poor condition! Jeff was great. Beautuful Island, Great restaurant and staff.
A guest from Tampa, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in September, 2011 This was a great place to relax and unwind. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. We loved it. Do yourself a favor though and skip Leverocks, worst meal ever. The RumBay restaraunt on the Island was Excellent.
A guest from Eagan, MN recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in February, 2011 Beautiful views, comfortable spacious accomendations, secluded and quiet vacation getaway. Have stayed here many times. A hidden treasure.
Lisa P. from Palmettos, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2010 It was a great place to stay and bring your boat. The beach is beautiful. I think that the condos could be equipped better with the essentials such as salt and pepper, laundry detergent, plastic cups, some games for families. Definitely need to rent a golf cart to get around.
Pat K. from Palm Harbor, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2010 Had a wonderful time with family in a three bedroom unit. The kitchen was alittle outdated, but everything worked and was clean.
LYNN G. from LAND O LAKES, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2010 We have stayed at Palm Island Resort many times in the past for are yearly girls weekend. We have not had any issues before this visit. The Villa I was issued was not the one I asked for. The bedding situation was a problem in the one we had been given. The furniture was very dated (all it needed was a disco ball to complete the decor). The carpet and furniture were badly stained. We did have a good time and next time I hope to get a better Villa.
A guest from Dahlonega, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2010 We rented two 3-bedroom condos for a 50th wedding anniversary celebration with the family. #1122 was in excellent condition, beautifully decorated and we would highly recommend it. #1222 had a dirty, stained carpet, paint peeling off the walls in one bathroom and appliances that were really outdated. The diswasher was in very bad shape. It was oceanfront and the view was great, which is about the only thing good I could say about the condo. The resort is a great place for families, but perhaps needs to be more strict with the condo owners as far as maintenance and quality of furniture. #1222 really needs to be updated, and we would not recommend it to anyone.
A guest from CAMBRIDGE, MA recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in March, 2010 We love this place and have been coming for years. Love the physical beauty of the place, the location of condos and pool, the golf carts / no cars, Shark's tooth beach, Redbeard. That said, our particular condo has gotten pretty junky in the years we've been staying there (1222). The dryer barely works (2 hours to dry a normal load), the dishwasher is almost as bad, the carpets are not very clean, the supplies in the kitchen are quite random, and worst of all is that very strange wood bed in the Master Bedroom with the mirror. I feel very strongly that the owner needs to spend a few thousand to spruce up this unit, including removing the very strange bed and possibly putting twin beds in the small room so children can actually sleep here. This would matter significantly to our returning to this unit.
Wonderful visit to Psalm Island but we all had sore backs.
LYN W. from TAMPA, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2009

RICHARD W. from TAMPA, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2008 WE HAVE GONE NUMEROUS TIMES AND IT IS GREAT....THERE WERE SOME MANAGEMENT OVERSIGHT PROBLEMS THIS TIME SUCH AS THE BREAKFAST STORE OPENING ONE HOUR AFTER SCHEDULE ON SUNDAY AND REDBEARD NOT SHOWING AS SCHEDULED( AND WITHOUT NOTICE )TO THE DISAPPOINTMENT OF THE KIDS.
A guest from TAMPA, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2008 The resorts setting was spactacular. The view made up for the outdated unit. Would love a few more food options. Very relaxing! The kids enjoyed having more than just the beach, such as the pools, tennis and basketball courts. Will return!
