Great Resort, Poor Unit A guest from FT. MYERS, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in July, 2012 While I love staying at Palm Island and visit annually, I will never stay in this unit again. The stove was not working properly. Maintenance fixed it but a safety concern still existed without heat sensor lights working. The refrigerator shelves were broken, the laundry room doors were broken and the linoleum was peeling up. The unit was very worn looking. Pool, beach, staff, and resort were wonderful, and we thankfully did not spend much time in the unit. However, I will definitely request a different unit next year. |

I can see the potential Stacey H. from Plant City, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in March, 2011 I had hopes to provide my family with a nice vacation. The reservation desk did not explain that the car ferry was part of the package. I never received my confirmation. I was under the impression there would be someone to greet us and take our bags directly off of the ferry and that cars were not allowed in the resort. I am so thankful that someone in the community saved us from the embarrassment and struggle of carrying our luggage and offered us a ride to the resort. The staff were all pleasant. We got to our room and someone was already going in....she was given the wrong key. We were not given a pool key with our package and had to ask for it. My parents were unable to seep in the beds provided due to the discomfort. And the last complaint would be that our bellman came 30 minutes too early. He was kind and returned later as scheduled. I think the staff were all very nice but the mistakes made did cause us to basically loose the first day due to the lack of information provided. We were able to take the water taxi back to get our car. I would like for other family members to see this beautiful peaceful place but honestly would hesitate to ask them to spend their money somewhere that could potentially have so many mistakes. |

Our 21st year visiting Palm Island A guest from NEW PORT RITCHEY, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2009 The villa we stayed in had not been renovated. It was the same as 20 years ago. Many we have stayed in have new furniture, flooring, appliances and updated kitchen and baths. This unit was clean, but not updated. Beautiful view from every unit. 1st floor is nice because of the back entrance, although you can hear the creaking of the people walking in the villa above. Once we got to the resort, we were on "island time". We rented golf carts and hit the water. We brought our boat and had a blast! The accomodations were nice. It was great having a washer/dryer in the unit. The kids had a ball. We watched the sunset on the pass and fished off shore. We just got back and are looking into returning again soon! |

We come by boat during other times as well to enjoy Rum Bay. So close to home but feels so far away and relaxing. |
