If you want private beach time, this is it.
Kristin A. from Largo, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2016 Very awesome. We live in Indian Rocks Beach, Florida so we have our own beach across the street from our condo. This place is ideal for a wedding. If you do not live walking distance to a beach and you want to vacation and spend all your time at the beach then this is your spot. Full kitchen means you can bring all of you own food and not have to eat out 3 times a day (big money saver that can go towards your room). Get a golf cart, you'll be glad you did.
A guest from Hudson, WI does not recommend this property. Stayed for 5 days in March, 2016 I don't think I will return. The beds were horrible. We stay at the medium value place, but still a bed was as bad as a pull out couch. When a pool was closed for the day and we needed to get a keycard for a separate pool, nobody said they were sorry for inconvenience, just reminded us not to lose the card or they would charge us.Beach was great, and pools were nice when open.
A guest from Tampa, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in November, 2015 we were all together 6 families rented 3 units. we all enjoyed the stay. The beach is very clean and so beautiful with lots of shells.kids and adults really enjoyed riding the gold cart
Lois S. from Tampa, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2015 I did not like the long walk to the beach, especially with two small grandchildren, one of which had to be carried and the other wanted to be carried. There wasn't much of a view of the ocean, since the palm trees were in the way. The pool should have had umbrella's to help keep off the direct sun. I felt the amount that I paid was not totally worth what I expected. Don't get me wrong, the staff wee outstanding, and we enjoyed the restaurant. The unit was very clean when we left. Someone needs to go in and check out the kitchen. One frying pan needs to be replaced, don't want to eat teflon. The coffee maker is on the blink. I requested maintenance for the front door lock and squeeky doors, neither were taken care of. I requested the outside light by the front door to be replaced as it had burned out. This was done within 24 hrs and I appreciate that very much. The island was very pretty and the grounds are maintained very nice. The pool area very clean.
Christian R. from winter haven, FL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2013 We have stayed at PI Resort multiple times and enjoyed it, however this time was merely ok to slightly dissatisfied. The unit 3522 has hand written signs in it that say things like "For Owner Only" that give it a tacky feel along with some real cheapness. Tiny pillows, pots and pans that have seen better days. An A/C controller that stops at 70 degrees. Lastly, the ceiling fan on the porch is broker and the ceiling fan in the master makes a terrible knocking sound. The owner needs to stop pinching pennies and make some improvements to the quality of the unit. I know I will request another unit before staying in this one again. Thanks
Karen S. from Odessa, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2013 We had a wonderful time at Palm Island Resort and we will recommend it to friends and family. It was a very nicely maintained property and our condo was very nice and clean. The weather was wonderful and we really enjoyed our time there. The beach was nice, water was beautiful and we liked that there was a preservation area between the condos and the beach. So very important for the beach critters and plant life.
Patty U. from Homestead, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2013 The villa was amazing. Great view and very relaxing. Created memorable moments with the family. Definitely would like to come back.
Jeffrey M. from Tampa, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2013 Palm Island is the true meaning of secluded beach experience. It was like my family was the only ones there 3/4 of the time. And when you finally run in to somebody they have this bubbly exited happy look on their face just like you do cause the experience your having! If you want to truly "get away" from the stress of everyday life and I mean truly, vacation here for a few days and watch it melt away. This place is truly a gem. Can't believe a place like this has been here all along? But now that we have found it, their is no way to keep us away! Thank you so much for the experience Palm Island.
Christine P. from San Antonio, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in June, 2013 Fantastic! So private, relaxing, beautiful beaches and best shell huntingin the US. Bar none.Heaven ok n Earth. No comparison!
A guest from Lakewood Ranch, FL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2012 Palm Island is a beautiful place, lovely private beaches and spectacular views - too bad our rental felt like a cheap hotel. Paper-thin walls (you could hear the person in the next unit cough), shabby furniture, cheap fake plants, kitchen cabinets that did not close, closet doors that were falling off their tracks, kitchen utensils that looked like they were yard sale rejects, itchy polyester sheets and a tiny tv. totally not worth the rental fee.
A guest from PALM HARBOR, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2012 We have been going to Palm Island for 13 years, every trip has been wonderful! It is the best place to get away from everything and relax and recharge. We love the quiet beaches, sharks teeth and sand dollars we find...golf carts are fun, the Rum Bay resturant has good food and friendly bar.
A guest from Tampa, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2012 Two days was way too short of a vacation to spend in this beautiful paradise. The condo was awesome and the whole resort was well managed to create a wonderful weekend.
A guest from Sunrise, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2012 I purchase the rental package from Living Social and I was a bit skeptical. I was even more worry when I arrived and did not find the location. When we called the office the employees were very friendly and eager to help us. I wish we could of stayed longer, but work did not permit the desire. Overall, it was an excellent experience.
Jeff M. from Tarpon Springs, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2012 The beaches are terrific. Growing up on the Pinellas County beaches, I'm used to the beautiful white-sand beaches that the Gulf provides. However, there are always large crowds of people on those public beaches. On Palm Island we were able to enjoy a much more private setting. More pristine and less commercial. It's a perfect place for the beach lover to unwind. It is also somewhat limited on things to do. Other than tennis and the beach, there isn't much else to do on the island. The kids enjoyed playing on the beach for a couple of days. I think they would have started to lose interest if we'd stayed much longer. Without the kids, my wife and I could have stayed for a few more days.
A guest from Safety Harbor, FL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2011 Furniture was very outdated and dirty. Not what we would expect for the price. Loved the island just not our condo.
Linda B. from Clearwater, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2011 The only disappointment was a delay in checking in. We waited over an hour for our accommodations to be ready for occupancy. Waiting outside in the heat was difficult.
Tara Y. from Fayetteville, AR recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2011 Kyle, Frank, Diane and "Big Bird" (the server in the restaurant) were awesome! Overall the proerty is well well maintained, staff is great and it was everything we expected! We collected sharks teeth, saw the manatees, collected shells and made lots of memories, We're definitely going to book another vacation to Palm Island.
Donna B. from The Villages, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2011 So laid back and friendly including staff and other guests. Simply a beautiful place to get away from it all.....
Kenneth M. from Orlando, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in November, 2010 I have been vacationing at palm island for 20 years. The condition of my last unit was sub-par. The beds were like sleeping in ironing boards. There was not enough utensils and dinnerware. The toaster did not work. It was obvious the unit was not well maintained by the owner. That said, I would return to palm island with the proviso that the unit amenities were upgraded.
KAREN S. from PLACIDA, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2010 We loved our 2 bedroom condo. The bathrooms were updated, there were plenty of towels, and all was neat and very clean. We've stayed on the island many times and this was our best experience! We were there for the Y's Tropical Nights fundraiser.
Jodylyne R. from Jupiter, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2008 your mattresses need updating. the springs in unite 3522 are so old that we could feel them all. for the price you charge you should have good Mattresses, then this will be the perfect getaway vacation.
Property Manager Response: Response from Palm Island Resort Thank you very much for your responses. I will send your suggestions to the owner of this unit. We are looking forward to your next visit with us. DJ Cutler, Director of Hospitality Operations
SUSAN K. from COLUMBUS, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2007 Our family of 4 began visiting the resort the first summer it opened in 1984 when our boys were 7 and 10. 25 years (and annual vacations) later, it's still their favorite vacation spot; and we've been many places in the world. Now they bring their spouses and children because they want their families to love the resort as much as they do. Their plan is definitely working. We love the freedom of "the island" and the convenience of the grills, pools and tennis courts. We hate to go "off island" and do so only to visit the nearby Publix. We felt very comfortable letting our boys roam alone when they were young and the resort was smaller; although there has been a lot of development since 1984, the environment still seems safe. We usually request--and have been able to occupy--the same unit each summer, and that makes the whole experience "a home away from home." Last summer, the bed in the master bedroom had an uncomfortable mattress (sagging in the middle) which made sleeping soundly difficult; but this inconvenience did not color the enjoyment of the visit. We plan to continue these vacations at Palm Island, although our increasing number of grandchildren will force us to reserve larger--and less familiar--accommodations!
