Great Hawaii Condo Craig H. from Claremont, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in August, 2009 The unit was amazing. Absolutely beautiful with the finish of a great, world-class hotel. Viking appliances, a glass wall that opened up to make the great room (living room, dining room, kitchen) open to an open-air lanai. The unit is ground floor, so the lanai opens to grass and a garden. It is one of the closest units to the pool and beach access, so it was very convenient. All the upscale comforts we could want. We will most definitely be back! |

Excellent stay at 10D Dom F. from Anacortes, Washington recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in May, 2009 The property was great and the process was good. The only issue we had was what I considered to be less than professional communications from the Management representative. |

It is December 17th and I still have not been refunded the $500 security deposit. There are no additional bedding on the premise James B. from Tulsa, OK recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in November, 2008 One of the chairs needs a simple put in the back. It continually come unattached. One of the grill lights was burned out when we used the grill. |

Julie N. from Vancouver, British Columbia recommends this property.
Stayed for 13 days in November, 2008 WE loved teh general layout of the condo and the Kolea property - our unit had a few maintenance issues (dishwasher, vacuum, ant infestation) while we were there that was not addressed by the property management company during our stay -- other than that, it was a fantastic experience. |

Kolea and Kolea 10d jay b. from portland, OR does not recommend this property. Stayed for 6 days in October, 2008 My family just returned from a weeks stay at Kolea. Our travel party consisted of 4 adults and 3 children ages 14, 4, and 2. This is our second condo stay in Hawaii, and our first on the big island. We learned from our first stay at Wailea Beach Villas that a ?super premium? condo is far and away a better value than renting the necessary 2 rooms at a high end hotel.Kolea is an outstanding property. We stayed in a 3 BR unit that offered plenty of space for our entire party. We called ahead and had a crib and 2 tubs of age appropriate toys waiting for us. The area is a secure gated community close to amenities and restaurants at the Queen and King shops. The landscaping is well maintained and showcases local plant varieties. If you have a ground floor unit be prepared to encounter a large number of feral (stray) cats. They are quite friendly, and will hang out in the vicinity if they sense that a snack is on the way.The pool area is adequate. The pool ranges from 3 feet in the shallow end to 4 feet in the ?deep? end. Very kid friendly! There are perhaps 20 comfortable lounge chairs poolside with another 10 or so in the periphery. It was very slow during our stay yet a time or two the area and pool seemed full. It may be an issue during a busier time of the year. Pool towels are provided. The sand bottom kid pool is excellent. There is a large grassy area adjacent for parents or nannies to sit and watch the action. The workout room is an open structure next to the pool with 2 ellipticals, a treadmill, and a recumbent bike. No weights. A Bay is a short trail away. There are plenty of beach chairs from the Marriott to use, and an activity center with tours, kayaks, etc. is available. There are lots of sea turtles to view daily. Now on to 10d.We booked this unit based in part on its designation as ?partial ocean view?. In fact, it is not. It is directly in front of the pool bui |

Lovely Unit, a few glitches A guest from Bakersfield, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 10 days in July, 2008 Unit 10D is beautifully appointed with top of the line appliances and lovely furniture. It does not, however, have a "partial ocean view", as advertised on the website. Recently-completed construction on the other side of the street blocks all but a VERY tiny patch of blue through the gate into the pool area. Unless you know that the ocean is there, you would miss it. Having said that, it is one of the closest units to the pool and beach area. I would stay there again. |

We took our whole family (11 total) and rented 2 units at Kolea. We loved it. We stayed for 10 nights and wished we had stayed Ginger H. from Ft. Collins, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 11 days in May, 2008 The beds are comfortable and luxurious. It is one of the few places we have been to that you can unwind completely. The owners have been thoughtful and considerate in stocking their units with all your needs. Thanks! |

Great Vacation! A guest from Portland, OR recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in April, 2008 Our week in Kolea 10D, with four adults and a two-year old, was superb. We particularly liked the large patio, open to the living / dining room, and the easy access to the wonderful pool area and the short walk to the nice beach. Hope we can return. |

Stayed for 7 days in April, 2008 Beautiful condo. Really enjoyed opening up the window/doors in the living area. Front foyer carpet stained - could use some tile there. Pool area very nice A view of the ocean would be nice but I don't think that is going to change. Overall very nice place to stay |

Spring Break Lori N. from Chanhassen, MN recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in March, 2008 Our only issue was the ant problem. We had to store cereal, chips, etc. in the refrigerator. We also noticed some mouse droppings under the sink. We called on this but we were not sure anyone came by. We absolutely loved the location and thought it was the best spot on the island. We would love to come back! |

Stayed for 5 days in February, 2008 Great location, beautiful unit. Could have done without the ants in the kitchen and the BR next to it. Also, unit not ready by the time promised. |

10D A guest from Orinda, CA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 13 days in February, 2008 the mattresses were too soft-very uncomfortable. There were no decent dressers in the bedrooms. Needs to be plastic cups so we could go to pool, walk, beach with cups. For these reasons, we are coming back to Kolea but will be staying elsewhere. Bruce and Kolea Luxury Vacations have been great |

Home hawaii (away) from Home vs Hotel room away from home A guest from Menlo Park, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in February, 2008 I was lucky enough to find a place like the Kolea that fit within our budget. Having 2 kids under the age of 1 made me think twice about staying at a Hotel. Pricing was a big factor but space for my kids to crawl around was equally important. The Kolea offered my family the space, security and beautiful scenery that one can expect in Hawaii. Comparing costs I found that it was less expensive to stay at the Kolea without compromising luxury. |

Kolea Villas 10D in Waikoloa, HI, United States Robert B. from New Castle, Pennsylvania recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in January, 2008 Beautiful property in a relaxing and serene setting. Truly a first class development. The only issue was the cleaning crew before we checked in did an extremely poor job.We didn't complain but before returning would make sure with the property management that the unit was properly cleaned. Another small issue is we were only provided with one key. I was told after the fact we should have been provided two keys. |
