4 pillars & tall white gates await your arrival to La Pommeraie.'Beau Geste' is our 2nd 3bed gite that is part of our Charentaise longhouse.You'll find us set in the golden triangle of Saint Jean d'Angely,Cognac & Saintes.Although we're in a small hamlet its only a 2min drive to St Meme our closest village.Here you will find a bar/restaurant,shop,post office & garage.14 mins & you are in our lovely market town of St Jean d'Angely with its great restuarants,shopping & places to see.20-25 mins will take you to Saintes or Cognac.Saintes for its great shopping & architecture whilst Cognac for its rich history,'degustation' tours & a lot more besides.The beautiful river Charente slowly winds its way through both Saintes & Cognac,with plenty of space on the riverbanks for that French picnic.
Tall double french doors enter into the lounge that is equally as grand.An 8 branch chandelier hangs elegantly from the 22ft ceiling.A large woodburner & stone surround gives the lounge a warm n'cosy feel when alight in those cooler months.A double Archway leads into the mahogany furnished dining room.This then leads through to the limed oak kitchen.A further set of french doors lead out onto a spacious covered terrace a perfect place to catch the morning sun or finish off the evening drink.A shower/toilet room is on the ground floor as well.
Solid pine stairs lead up onto the small landing.This then leads off to the bathroom & all 3 bedrooms.The bathroom benifits from a large corner bath & modern glass sink + toilet.The 1st doublebedroom has a lovely burgh walnut bed to take away those aches & pains.
Try our 10 x5 mtr (33ft x 16ft) pool for a relaxed swim.Set in its own 200 yr old courtyard garden planted with olive tree's,lavender, rosmary & grapevines you'll soon be drifting off to pastures new.
