This 200yr old stone walled barn conversion will capture your imagination from the moment you step inside its wonderfully cool interior.Our peaceful hamlet is set in the golden triangle of Sainte jean d'angely,Cognac & Saintes.We're also close to the coast & the glorious golden beaches of Royan,La Rochelle & Chatelaillon-Plage.A large stone archway houses the french doors & leads you into the fully fitted kitchen.To the left is the dining area that will seat 6 with ease around its old dark oak table.Oak chairs & sideboard unite well with the exposed stonework.Another large archway leads into the lounge room.A giant roof supporting 21ft stone pillar gives this room an architectural feel,which can be illuminated in the evenings for a greater effect.A doorway leads off to the family size bathroom complete with an angled bath,vanity sink unit & toilet.Natural pine stairs lead up to the gallery landing & which gives access to all 3 bedrooms & shower/toilet room.From the landing you have a great view of the lounge below & its good sized woodburner.You will find 2 double bedrooms & 1 twin.All bedrooms are well furnished & have bedside lamps/clockradios.
The 33ft x 16ft swimming pool benefits from a roman stepped end making access in, very easy.The ancient stone walled courtyard that encloses the pool has a mediterranean feel with its olive trees,lavender,rosemary & citrus blossom.There is plenty of space on the south facing terrace and quality sun loungers are here for those lazy days.Across the pool we've put a good sized table/chairs for your dining comfort along with a large BBQ.A lovely little poolhouse houses an american fridge/freezer to keep your drink chilled & at hand as you soak up the sun.Kids will love the amount of inflatables on offer,this then keeps them busy whilst you relax & unwind.FREE to use mountain bikes for all are handy to explore the unspoilt & peacefull lanes.We're surrounded by sunflowers & vines making evening walks a relaxing pleasure.Superb restaurunts can be found within 15mins drive.Fantastic sea food is available as you get closer to the coast.Saintes has amazing roman history & still has the relics of a ampitheatre to view.For the freshest French produce you must visit the market in St jean d'angely,so you'll have no excuses not to try the perfect 'pain' or a slice of glorious 'fromage'.We think that weve discoverd heaven so why don't you!
