Welcome to Terrazza San Vitale, definitely one of the most comfortable rentals in Bologna, the Italian capital of fun and gourmet cuisine. The best words to describe this great piece of property are: roomy, brand new, bright, central, perfectly furnished and beautifully decorated, cozy, convenient, clean, relaxing. Actually we could add more adjectives, but we prefer you to discover all the pluses Silvio added to his apartment with the aid of AnnaRita, who took care of the decoration at the top of her zest and excellent taste.
Located in the very center of town with public transportation right across the street and the best of the Bolognese stores, theatres, museums, night clubs, etc. at walking distance, Terrazza San Vitale got its name from a very large terrace (about 98 square meters) furnished and equipped for dining “al fresco” – a barbecue and a gazebo are provided – that will be entirely yours during your stay granting quiet and total relax.
The inside is even better: two large bedrooms plus a third one which is divided from the livingroom by a shelving wall comfortably sleeping up to ten people, two bathrooms, one kitchen, one dining room, one sitting room, hallway and plenty of storage room all around. Bedding is as follows: one double + a bunk bed in room 1, one double that can be splitted into two singles in room 2, 1 double sofabed in room 3 and a double sofabed in the livingroom.
Although part of a new building, the apartment was thoroughly refurbished in May 2004 and all the furniture, furnishing and appliances are brand new. Other important features as a washing machine, a dishwasher, a telephone (free local calls), broadband internet access, a TV/VCR and air conditioning system are provided at no extra charge. A private garage is available and directly accessible from the apartment through an elevator.
So, either if you are planning to come to Bologna for business or vacation Terrazza San Vitale absolutely qualifies as the place to be. The fairground is at a stone’s throw from the apartment (buses will get you there in no time) and all the major central-northern Italian art cities such as Florence, Venice, Mantua, Ferrara, Padua, the Adriatic shore etc. can be reached in minutes by train. That will allow you to forget about renting a car or booking a new hotel room every day – just close the door behind you and enjoy your vacation.

"The apartment was wonderful. We were greeted by the owner who spent time telling us about the area. He showed us where the bus stop was and gave us bus numbers that we would need. He showed us the grocery store which is just a few blocks away. The apartment was very clean and spacious. There were plenty of towels. The kitchen is compact but had everything that you would need such as sharp knives, pans and dishes. We were very surprised that the owner had provided food and drink to get us started. The bathrooms were also stocked with everything you could need from soap and shampoo to a mending kit. We had rented a car and appreciated the garage as street parking would have been impossible. Bologna is a beautiful city and we were able to hop on a bus or take a short walk and quickly be in the historic center. The location of the apartment was wonderful for touring. We were able to quickly get on the highway day trip to Parma, Ravenna, Florence and Venice. The owner, apartment and location all made us feel welcome and added to our holiday enjoyment." "There are many reasons to visit Bologna. An opportunity to stay at the Terrazza San Vitale is one of them. I was ready to move in as soon as I saw it. Then Silvio showed us what was in the cupboards. He had already shopped the basics for us. It was like staying at the home of a dear friend who had been suddenly called away on a vital matter, but who had carefully thought out all your needs before leaving. The place is clean. It is spacious. We made wonderful meals in the kitchen (the local supermarket has better pasta than found in US speciality stores; you can walk to a speciality market in about 20 minutes). You are just far enough outside the centre to be free of the noise and pedestrian traffic. You are close enough to the centre to say, "let's get a glass of wine at that enoteca on the far side of the Piazza Maggiore." And then there's a great place for gelato on the way back on the via San Vitale. But about the apartment. I only wish Bologna wasn't as fascinating, since I never had a chance to sit in the living room and read a good book. Perhaps on some future trip, because I know my preferred destination in Bologna." "Silvio was a very generous and thoughful man who gave us full use of his beautiful appartment. The descriptions detailed was extremely accurate and we also agree fully with the comments from the other renters of this property. We are a family with 4 children ages 21 to 9 years and we all had a wonderful time.We had our breakfast outside every morning on his beautiful spacious terrace. The rental was ideal for travelling arround that part of italy we travelled to Lake Garda, Venice, San Marino, Parma, Rimini, the Ferrari factory in Modena the shopping in Bologna was a treat. We walked into the centre most days but there was a bus stop at the end of the street if you find walking a problem. The ice cream shop beside the appartment was just devine there are also two good pizza carry outs nearby. As the apartment was just on the very outskirts of the old town it was very easy to find on returning from excursions by car. Parking was also provided. Silvio made sure we knew how to get arround the city before he left us, and was easily contacted by phone or email if we needed him. If we go back to Bologna we would stay there again. Our eldest son took his laptop with him and Silvio made sure he was connected before he left us. we had plenty of bed linen and towels and everything we needed to get started a great host. "Silvio's Terrazza San Vitale was the best apartment our group (4 adults) stayed at during our 3 weeks in Italy. "What a splendid home away from home! Silvio had the kitchen stocked not only with cooking utensils and such, but with food for you to use; what an unexpected treat! It is centrally located so we took day trips to Venice, Florence, Sienna, Modena, and even to the beach at Rimini. The train station is just a short bus ride away and is very easy to use. {The bus pick-up is only a block and a half away.} And Silvio not only picked us up at the train station [9 of us] but showed us where the bus stop and numbers to take, plus where the grocery store was located. "Spent 11 days in Bologna with 2 friends and daughter. We all loved Bologna and due to its railway station, it is very easy to reach surrounding towns - Ravenna, Modena, Parma, Ferrara and even Mantova. The flat is exactly as described on the website - spotlessly clean, very near the town centre and a short bus ride to the station. The bus-stop is also very near the flat as well as supermarket, small shops, cafés, restaurants and also - very important - it is situated in a very calm area. Silvio, the owner, is amazing - so kind and generous. He actually went by foot with us to show us the bus-stop and the road leading into town. Gave us all the information we needed about public transport and restaurants etc... On top of that, the cupboards and fridge were stocked with drinks and food.
