TESTIMONIALS ==

"This tiny apartment is great if you want to be in the center of it all. Basically, it is located by Piazza Maggiore and surrounded by everything you may need. Pietro is a wonderful host and his apartment is tiny but very clean and comfortable, quiet at night and pretty well stocked. A great pick for a couple. Highly recommended." (Lars M, USA)

"Everything went perfectly about this rental. I was met by the owner, who graciously explained everything I needed to know about the place, and then left to enjoy it. The apartment is very much as described -- small, modern, clean and well-kept. The location is impossible to beat -- right in the center of the old city, close to the outdoor food market and lovely specialty shops, and steps away from a small supermarket." (Brenda B., USA)

"Excellent rental - very clean, perfectly functional, cozy and quiet. The kitchen had all the tols we needed and there is wifi included in the price. Very comfortable beds. The apartment is located in a key area of the historical center with everything at a stone's throw. There is no washing machine, but a laundromat is only one block down the street. We spent 6 days here and loved it, the owners treated us like family. Absolutely recommended. (Nando - Rome, Italy)

Appartamento eccellente! Pulitissimo, tutto perfettamente funzionante, confortevolissimo e silenzioso. Consigliatissimo!" (Nando M., Italy)

"Due Torri apartment was perfect for a solo travellor who likes to cook. Great location to the amenities, sights and 20 minute fast walk to the train station made day trips to Verona and Ravenna easy and then onto Venice easy. I appreciated Pietro's correspondence and assistance and warm welcome from his niece who made sure I had all I needed for a comfortable stay... as I arrived Sunday night in the rain." (Kathy W., Canada)

Silenzioso e servito. Proprietario molto disponibile. Raccomandato." (Virginio P., Italy)

"The apartment is small, clean, very well equipped and in an excellent position. Its also pretty quiet, and very secure." (Janine S., USA)

"Apartment is small, especially the bathroom but the amenities are modern and it is secure, very clean and in a fantastic location. The building is quiet, there is a view onto the internal courtyard, and you can comfortably use it as a base and walk all over the old city." (Laura J., USA)

"A very quiet compact base from which to explore all that Bologna has to offer. The location is ideal being very close to the Two Towers and Piazza Maggiore. The accomodation was clean and as described on the website." (Alan W., UK)

"A friendly reception! The apartment is in best city-situation! Completely arranged for a comfortable stay. Everything away on foot attainable. For a stay in Bologna perfectly!" (Uwe K., Germany)

"Arrendador muito simpático, localização óptima. Globalmente: Bom" (Carmen F., Portugal)

"Appartamento signorile, arredato elegantemente e con tutte le attrezzature necessarie per un piacevole e rilassante soggiorno. La zona del palazzo e' elegante ed e' a pochi metri da Piazza Maggiore/Due Torri. Sara' sicuramente consigliato ai miei colleghi ed amici che dovessero recarsi a Bologna. Ripeto che il mio soggiorno da 30 Aprile al 6 Maggio e' stato piu' che soddisfacente." (Andrea P., Italy)

"True to its description Due Torri apt is small, clean and perfectly situated. Within a beautiful old building right in the centre it is quiet and peaceful. We would return again and again knowing we could not find better or cheaper accomodation with the most friendly and helpful welcome." (Sandra S., USA)

"I stayed in this apartment for three straight weeks in May and June of 2008, and had a wonderful experience. The location is fantastic, about a five minute walk from all the major attractions--yet because it is located in a pedestrian zone, the apartment is very, very quiet, something that is essential for me.
One of the best things was that for the first time in 25 years of spending lots of time in Europe, this was the first time I didn't need a car. We took many very easy day trips on the train to places like Venice, Ferrara, Parma, Verona, and Ravenna.
I got to know the guy who sells the newspapers (by my second visit, he knew which Italian paper I preferred), the cafe owners, and several waiters and one owner in two local restaurants. There are many excellent restaurants and historic sites within a few minutes' walk.
It's true that the apartment is small--though it's perfect for one and fine for two though maybe a bit crowded with a third adult (but fine for a child)--but all the necessities are brilliantly arranged to save space. The kitchen is actually hidden behind of wooden curtain which, when pulled shut, gives the room more of a "living room" feel, since you can't see the kitchen. Everything was spotless when I arrived, and the building is an excellent and safe one.
Pietro and his wife Anna are wonderful people and very hospitable. If I needed the smallest thing, Pietro would rush to fulfill my wishes. I stayed there a week alone, and when he heard that my girlfriend was staying with me the final two weeks, and that my sister and brother-in-law were staying in a nearby hotel at the same time, he and Anna threw a wonderful dinner party in our honor at their home in the country.
I have rented apartments all over France and Italy for twenty years and this was one of my best experiences ever. Pietro is a great host and ever ready to help, but when you want to be left alone, he can do that too. I don't think he speaks much English (we spoke in Italian), but I'm sure his good will and enthusiasm would make up for any linguistic difficulties. Highest recommendation." (Peter B., USA)

"This is an excellent apartment with a wonderful location. You are in the heart of central Bologna -- now our favorite city in Italy -- and within a short walk of all of the sights, restaurants, bars, etc. It is also an easy walk to the train station for side trips. The apartment is small but fine for two people. The building is safe and quiet. the owners are lovely people who greeted us warmly and gave us many good suggestions for our week there. We strongly recommend Bologna and Due Torri." (Ken & Margie, USA)

"Studio très bien situé, en plein centre. Accueil sympathique." (Christophe A., France)

"Situación excelente." (Francisco P., Spain)

"Nice small and clean apartment with excellent location in the hearth of Bologna. Wonderful restaurants just a minutes walk and taxi stand a couple of hundred meters away." (Jarmo L., Finland)

"We really loved this small apartment. It is right in the middle of this gorgeous city, everything is within walking distance: shops, restaurants and pizzerias, bus-stop, train station, markets. It has been wonderful to explore the city on foot, being able to go 'home' and make ourselves a cup of tea, between a museum and another sight: everything is near. We could sleep absolutely undisturbed (very quiet), we felt safe and at home rightaway. The apartment indeed was clean (especially important in the bathroom) and everything you might need functions well. I would love to come back here in the future, to meet lovely Bologna again and to visit still more of the many wonderful cities in Emilia-Romagna than we have seen now." (Margot F., The Netherlands)

"Basic, clean apartment in very central location. Airport bus stops very close by. Quietly situated on courtyard very close to Via Rizzoli right in the heart of the old city. Handy for shops & restaurants. Pietro, the owner, met us on arrival & was very friendly & helpful." (Anne D., Scotland)

"The apartment was in a very good location, just minutes from the university as well as The centre of Bologna. Clean, well kept, a little on the small side." (Edward B., Canada)

"Hemos tenido una muy buena experiencia en este apartamento bien equipado, limpio y cerca de todo el centro histórico de Bolonia. Muy agradable el barrio, seguro y tranquilo.En caso de volver a Bolonia lo utilizaremos nuevamente. Muy importante. El dueño es un caballero muy ético y cumple lo que ofrece." (Raul M., Chile)

"We were following the famous John Grisham book - The Broker - which features the lovely old town of Bologna. Due Torri is ideally situated in the old town and only a step from some of the locations in the book. The appartment is small but more than adequate for holiday-makers who are outside most of the time. Well equipped for cooking at home and, thankfully, a really comfortable bed. A welcome from Pietro with a bottle of local wine a nice touch. But Pietro please get a good knife for cutting bread! We would certainly use Due Torri again." (Kenneth C., Switzerland)

"Before arriving to Bologna, our email exchange with the owner was very pleasant! He was extremely helpful, responsive, thorough, and clear in answering our quirky questions (in English, I might add) such as, "where is the nearest laundry facility", "where is the nearest swim pool", and "will we have internet access and how much does it cost"? The apartment is conveniently located near Piazza Maggiore (within meters) and everything else you need to get to (i.e. the buses, train station, excellent restaurants, and attractions). Once the owner showed us the apartment, he took us on a walking tour so we could become familiar with the vicinity! Beyond that introduction to the location, we were on our own (except for the information center located in the Piazza Maggiore). So, if you're used to having a hotel concierge help you find things to do or direct you, this may not be the option for you. The owner left us his phone number, however, in case we had problems or had further questions. The apartment was cozy (read: small), but that seems customary in Europe, but the portable air conditioner and refrigerator where we could chill some drinks made our stay very pleasant especially with the hot/humid weather they have at that time of year (July). We would definitely recommend this apartment, owner, and location for your Italian vacation!" (Jami M., USA)

"The apartment has the best possible location, so we could go everywhere on foot. The apartment is vey quiet so you can rest without a problem. There is a minimarket in the same street. The owner even gave us a spumante bottle for New Year's Eve." (Isabel T., Spain)

"They say Real Estate is location, location, location. This is the location in Bologna. The apartment is tiny by American standards, small by European standards, and getting from the front door to the apartment entrance is a Wonderland trip in that there are many twists and turns. The apartment is utterly functional, perfect for two and we would return. I am a photographer and this is just what i wanted!" (John P., USA)

"We really enjoyed our stay in Bologna at this lovely apartment. It had everything we needed except the addition of a toaster may be appreciated! It was quiet despite being in the centre near cafes, bars, shopping etc. We loved buying the food at the indoor market a few minutes flat walk. We visited many beautiful churches and 2 wonderful Christmas concerts and the mechanical Nativity scenes on display were a real joy to witness. There was a lovely spirit of the season and I can certainly recommend going to this apartment at this time of the year! Pietro was very helpful and left us a bottle of Christmas cheer and a home made jam tart that was a nice touch. Thank you for making our visit to Bologna so pleasant!" (Victoria D., USA)

"The owner, was a dream to work with and very responsive to all my emails. And what a fantastic greeting! We were met by the owner's sister outside the front door of the apartment; within minutes we were ushered inside and met the owner, big hugs all around, like we were long-lost family. The apartment is true to the photos on the website, small, but immaculately clean, and very secure. The location of this apartment, in my opinion, was the best thing about this place. It's located, smack in the middle of the center of the city, just a few blocks from Piazza Maggiore, and around the corner from the main arterial street, Via Independenzia, going directly to the train station. There were plenty of shops, cafes, banks, and gastronomia's within a few steps of the front door. I would not hesitate to stay here again." (Marcella B., USA)

"We enjoyed a lot both the city and the apartment. We will try to stay there next time in Bolonia." (Teresa I., Spain)

"Perfect location next to all amenities and sights... markets, gourmet food, wine, desserts, wonderful cafe bar next door. Apartment had all I needed to prepare great simple Italian meals. 20 minute fast walk under the porticos to the train station made day trips easy. I appreciated Pietro's emails that prepared me well for this trip... telling me how to arrive. I was met by his niece who made sure I had all I needed. Grazie mille Pietro for this warm welcome to Italy." (Katharine W., USA)

"How can anyone not love Pietro's appartment. The unit is small, but cosy, clean and bright. All essential needs are met with comfort. Pietro wants the best for you, there is even a torte and WINE on arrival. Being in Bologna was a thrill in itself, but the location of the unit is outstanding. Next door for breakfast, around the corner, dinner and one block away, the grocery store. We walked every place we wanted to go. No taxi, no busses even though they were easy to find and close by. We would return if given the chance." (Martha G., USA)

"The apartment was situated in a lovely little street, just a few seconds' walk from the Due Torri and minutes from Piazza Maggiore with all its delights. Many good restaurants, charming street markets, interesting museums, palaces and churches nearby and only a short walk to the station from where we took the train to Ravenna, Modena and Ferrara." (Graham & Susan D., USA)

"Due Torri is a great little jewel - one of the best rental we ever booked. We spent 2 weeks there (May-June 2011) and thoroughly enjoyed it, the location is fantastic and the apartment was clean, comfortable, very welcoming and very, very quiet, which is a great plus for the busy center of Bologna. Everything was in perfect working order, mattresses and frames were firm and comfy. Pietro and Anna welcomed us with a delicious cake, a bottle of spumante and a big smile. They also took us to a local festival, bought us dinner and showed us around - Bologna is a fantastic city and Bolognese are great people! We totally recommend Due Torri and surely will go back." (Adrien & Albert L., Switzerland)

"Excellent location in Bologna, close to the center and the main sights for visitors. Very small apartment but manageable for two people. Not luxurious, but contains the essentials. But the location makes up for a lot. A good value. Pietro was very helpful. And the welcome cake was delicious." (Sue V., USA)

"This apartment was perfect for our needs - so quiet and close to the main sights, the market etc.. We will certainly be recommending it to any of our friends who may be visiting Bologna. We particularly enjoyed easting at Trattoria Serghei, Via Piella 12 - great Bolognese food!! and a nice family who run the restaurant. Thanks again for your help when we arrived." (Grant & Sue R., New Zealand)

"The unit was small, but very efficiently configured, and I recognized the unit from the listing photos immediately. The unit was well maintained, clean, and the entire building was very secure. The unit overlooked an interior courtyard, so noise was never a problem. The building is located in the heart of the center of old Bologna, a one or two block walk to the market area, restaurants, Piazza Maggiore, Due Torri, and the University. The owner and his representative were helpful with our late evening arrival, and responsive to our needs. I would recommend this property to any friend or relative visiting Bologna. Do not miss the nearby market area, with its many Salumeria's, fruit stands, and Enoteca's. Be sure to spend a quiet morning or afternoon sipping espresso at one of the cafe's near the tourist office overlooking Piazza Maggiore. Trattoria di Leonidas is not to be missed for it's fine food and attentive service. Enjoy a breathtaking view of Bologna from the top of Torre Assinelli." (Paul S., USA)

"We spent a week here in September 2011 and the apartment couldn't have been more perfect for us. It is cozy and welcoming, extremely clean, with excellent brand new mattresses and linens -- and a GREAT owner, always eager to help -- all promises and commitments were amicably honored. This is not just the usual rental and photos don't do justice to it. Most important feature, it is located EXACTLY in the center of Bologna with the best restaurants, stores and attractions right there, a pictoresque open air market no more than two minutes walk. It has internet connection and all the basic kitchen tools. Everything we needed to set up housekeeping was in the apartment when we arrived, and we also got a complimentary homemade cake with a bottle of spumante to toast. The air conditioning worked beautifully and efficiently as did everything else in the apartment. The apartment is quiet and removed from the street. We felt safe and secure at all times. We recommend this rental highly and will rent it again ourselves should we return to Bologna." (Nina H., Germany)

"My husband and I spent a week in Bologna at the Due Torri apartment and could not have been happier. The only thing that could have made us happier is to have had the pleasure of meeting Pietro himself but unfortunately he was not available during our stay. The apartment was perfect for us. It was clean, quiet and in an excellent location on a charming street. The location was an appx. 20 minute pleasant walk down Via Indepenza from the train station and centrally located within minutes from all the major sights. If you are planning to stay in Bologna I highly recommend to anyone to stay here. Looking forward to going back!" (Dana D., USA)

"My girlfriend and I just got back from a 10 day trip to Italy. We used Pietro's apartment as our home base while we took day trips to Florence, Venice, Ferrera, and Ravenna. Because of Bologna's central location we were able to jump on the train (10 min walk) and be in each of these cities by 9 or 10 am. This allowed us to see all of the sites in each locale and spend the other days seeing the sites in Bologna. If you haven't looked into visiting Bologna you should. It is a wonderful city filled with history, food, and the nicest people. Pietro's apartment is just around the corner from the Piazza Maggiore, the Basilica di Santo Stephano, and all of the other great sites in the city. Having access to the apartment allows one to make use of the ancient markets that line the streets off of Maggiore. A treat for any cook. I highly recommend this cozy apartment. Patrick from Philadelphia" (Patrick O., USA)

"This apartment is great and right in the heart of the vibrant historical district of Bologna. There are cafes and restaurants at your door and everything you need is a short walk away - butcher, fruit/veggie shop, wine shop, supermarkets, shopping and a whole open air market. There is an amazing gelato parlour nearby - Piazza Re Enzo. The bust stop is less than a block away and a short ride to everything. Also an easy stroll to Via Indipendenza, the train station and beautiful Margherita garden. The apartment itself has a modern, fully equipped kitchen, a small yet functional bathroom and comfortable beds. Although it is close to a lively street it is not noisy because it is set in the back of the block. We will be sure to return and are so glad to have discovered this apartment and this colourful part of Bologna!" (Nancy C., USA)

"Excellent location with restaurants, stores and markets nearby and a very short walk to Piazza Maggiore, the railroad station and all the major monuments of Bologna. The apartment is cosy, quiet and clean - best suited for 2 occupants but can be stretched to 3. Everything was in good working order. The owners were very helpful with information and even rang to book a taxi for us when we left. Very good price too. Would definitely recommend." (Stacey M., USA)

"It is a small apartment, but there is everything you need. But the best is the communication and the tips from the owner (thanks again for the bottle of wine). From this apartment you can reach all historical monuments, best restaurants and popular places in town in a few minutes by feet. Nearby there are two supermarkets and also many little stores to buy all you need. You will not hear any noise from the street but perhaps a little noise from the neighbours(washing machine in the middle of the night). At least I would say it's a good price-performance ratio and I would choose it again." (Andrea B., Germany)

"This apartment was a great find. It is small, but everything is provided to make you feel like home. Beds were brand new and very comfy, with firm mattresses. Fantastic location between the Two Towers and Piazza Maggiore, the Medieval Market and the train station. Great, friendly hosts welcomed us with a delicious cake and a bottle of spumante wine. Absolutely recommended." (Alex C., USA)

"The apartment provided spartan accommodations in an excellent locale. Rooms were clean and pleasantly decorated, beds were small but comfortable, and the bathroom was small but workable. There are cooking utensils, dishes, glasses, and silverware on hand so you can prepare your own meals. Pietro, our landlord, could not have been better. He was prompt and pleasant in all our dealings, and answered all our questions. When we arrived, he met us at the apartment, and showed me around the neighborhood. We were only 2 blocks from the famous Tamburini deli and fine food vendors on the Via Pescherie Vecchie, close to the Two Towers (the Torre degli asinelli and the Torre Garisenda), and 4 blocks from the City Center (the Piazza Maggiore, the Piazza del Nettuno, and the Piazza de Porta Ravegnana). This is a great area for walking, with great restaurants, impressive churches, beautiful galleries, many fine shops, and plenty of nightlife. We loved the city!" (Rick B., USA)

"Pietro, the owner of this apartment, greeted us with a bottle of wine and short tour of the amenities. A very delightful man with a lovely wife who made us feel very comfortable during our initial arrival. We thank you for the wonderful stay Pietro! Note: Pietro speaks little English, even though emails are in English, so fire up the laptop and google translate any questions on site. This apartment will accommodate 2 guests quite well. If you are not looking for close romantic quarters with your guest, of course, you would want a bigger apartment. In any case, more than adequate for 2 people who are friends or a couple. My Fiancée and I found the apartment very comfortable, safe and relaxing after long days of sightseeing. The area felt safe during all times of the day and night. We cooked our own meals and the utensils provided were adequate. This apartment was close to everything we desired to see. It is about a 15 minute walk to the train station if you desire to see Milan or Venice for the day. Maggiore Plaza is a few minutes away, as well as tons of shops, banks, "malls" etc... In all, a great location and good accommodations in a peaceful and quiet setting. This particular apartment did not have a city/skyline view. Essentially, your patio doors open to reveal the inner square of the complex. Nothing to see but walls and windows to other apartments, but nice to have fresh air after cooking since the apartment is cozy. -Wireless internet worked fine and very reliable. -Don't recall being given discounts on anything for Bologna. Payment: Cash, Bank wire or Paypal. Expect to pay an additional 5% fee on top of the total cost for using Paypal to compensate for the payee's Paypal fee. Yes, technically you shouldn't be expected to pay a fee on their behalf for sending them money via Paypal, but 90% of the apartments in Europe expect it when using Paypal. Use cash or bank wire to reduce fees." (Matt K., USA)

"My husband and I were visiting Bologna and areas for couple of week. This apartment served us very well. It is as advertised, steps away from major sites such as the two towers and the Piazza Maggiore. Despite the proximity, the apt which gives out on inner courtyard was very quiet. Pietro and anna were on premises when we arrived, greeting us with wine and cake. Nice touch. Also as advertised, the apt. is cozy, as in on a small size. This did not bother us as we were not planning on spending a lot of time in. But something to consider if you need your space or are looking to include a third person." (Anne Marie N., Canada)
