Newly rebuilt apartment available for short-term rental. The apartment sleeps five; it has a living room, bedroom, kitchen, and bath. The large awning covered balcony has great views of Taormina and the Bay of Naxos. WiFi internet access is included and all of the furnishings are new and of good quality. The living room and bedroom both have ceiling fans. Some other nice touches include a glass block shower surround and Etna lava-stone floors throughout. To welcome my guests there is basket of fresh local fruit, a few beverages, and basic cooking condiments in the kitchen when they arrive. The apartment is up and out of the noise and bustle of the seaside, but you can be on the beach or in the middle of the action in less than a 2-minute walk. Please note: as with many places here there are stairs, but the view is worth it I think! Giardini is a short drive from Catania airport (1 hour) and just down the hill from Taormina (20 min) and is easily accessible by bus and train. I would highly recommend Giardini for a vacation and base to travel from no matter whose apartment you rent. Giardini has the best beach in the area, it is sandy not rocky. We have a free beach and plenty of lidos too. I will be happy to help with pre-trip planning, bus schedules that sort of thing, if you let me know your interests I will be happy to make some recommendations. I chose to live here because of the conveniences and access to shops which are not just for tourists unlike Taormina. Although the population here also sky rockets in the summer there are plenty of local people who live here year round. There is a bus stop less than a 2 minute walk, and shops, restaurants and the beach also less than 2 minutes from the apartment thanks to a pedestrian underpass. The train station is about 20 minutes on foot. I do not have a car so I chose a part of the town to be near to the things I access on a daily basis. When I remodeled my home I made a separate apartment for my friends and family, so this apartment was made with the comfort of my guests in mind. I am not a business; I am a U.S. ex-pat who has been living in Sicily for 5 years. As I tell everyone...come for the food, it's the best in the world. Giardini is small and friendly, and living in a neighborhood you will be able to experience daily life here. For example every morning the produce trucks drive around calling out what they have, then you walk downstairs and get just picked produce...oops, I am back on the subject of food! Come, you will love it!!!
