Zakynthos, or Zante as the visitor more commonly knows it, is also referred to as the “Flower of the Orient” for it truly is an island of exceptional beauty. The locals are renowned for their true Greek hospitality, which probably accounts for why so many holidaymakers return to the island time and time again.Geographically the island is the most southern of the six Ionian Islands located off western mainland Greece. It is approximately 40km long and 17km wide giving an area of over 400 sq. km and hosts a population of approximately 45,000 with an extra 300,000 holidaymakers during the summer months. The island has a Mediterranean climate providing long hot summers and warm wet winters. Zakynthos gets a lot of rainfall during the winter months and this is the reason it is very green and fertile. The countryside is covered in wildflowers, especially in the spring, and the island has rich vegetation including raisins, olives, vines and citrus fruits. Kalamaki Court is a newly built (completed June 07) private holiday complex in the resort of Kalamaki (which is very near the airport) and consists of a total of 14 private villas, providing the holidaymaker with a budget holiday whereby they can rent independently their own home in the sun! The complex of two storey private villas includes also two swimming pools, children's pool, BBQ area and outside showers set in enclosed landscaped gardens and is Fully Air Conditioned. The complex is located in a most desirable area on the edge of the resort of Kalamaki. Just a 5 minute stroll will bring you to the famous and ever popular 'Michaelos' Taverna and a further 5 minutes will take you right into the heart of the resort with all it's facilities. 15 minutes walk from the complex is the crystal clear blue waters and white sands of Kalamaki's Crystal Beach, one of the favourite nesting beaches of the famous 'Loggerhead Turtle' which is a protected beach. Kalamaki is 4 kilometres from the main town on the island Zante, which can be easily accessed by public transport or by taxi at a very reasonable cost. The complex is a 2 minutes stroll to the nearest supermarket, Hotel Dollas, internet cafe and the the traditional Greek Taverna 'Christos' owned by Christos and his wife Emily who not only cook and serve their own fresh home cooked traditional and european food, but will sit and chat with customers and even teach you a few Greek words. Food and transport is very reasonable in Kalamaki and if you don't fancy walking into town the taxi fare for anywhere in the Kalamaki areas is 5euro. The complex also has ample car parking just outside the main entrance. Car Hire can also be arranged if required. We have 3 private villas available now available for rent. Each property has two bedrooms and is fitted out to the highest standards, and consists of: Ground floor: living room area with corner sofa bed and tv which leads onto a large patio area overlooking the pools and gardens, a fully fitted modern kitchen with cooker, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and toaster along with all other cooking equipment, also on the ground floor is a wc where you will find the wahsing machine. First floor: main bathroom, one bedroom with double bed and the other with twin beds both leading onto another large veranda also overlooking the pool and gardens below. Also on the grounds for communal use is a BBQ area and outside showers. The landscaped gardens which include your very own herb garden, and pools are maintained on a daily basis, and the complex is surrounded by olive trees. The complex is ideally situated on the outskirts of Kalamaki town and is perfect for chilling out. Rental Prices are for one unit.
Preferred minimum booking period is 1 week. Weekly rates per villa for 2008: May €500, June €500, July €700, August €700, September €500, October €500. Long term letting would also be considered.
