Description of the house ************************ Charm and an abundance of serenity, this cottage is one of only 16 homes in this equally charming hamlet of Paunat. Draw a triangle between Perigueux, Bergerac and Sarlat and you'll see the village of Paunat is in the centre, near the second most visited areas outside Paris. Paunat is one of the best kept secrets in the south west of France, with the village surrounding a valley and 11th century abbey, an exceptional bistro in the abbeys' rectory and a petit chateau of its own. Built into the side of the valley, the cottage is secluded enough to roam outdoors and eat alfresco, yet offers the village security and community spirit. While the tradition and history prevails, the bathroom has been tastefully renovated in handmade provincial tiles, the farmhouse style kitchen is very country but with new refrigerator, butlers sink and gas stove. An open plan dining room which steps up into a cosy and comfortable nook is perfectly heated by the wood fire in the cooler months. A double bedroom overlooks the valley, while a cosy bedroom with two single beds is situated adjacent. A separate, from the cottage by a character stone courtyard, la petite maison is where breakfast can be served as a pretty alternative. Outside, the charming yard is where you probably enjoy having lunch, wereas you prefer looking down the valley from the pergola, equiped with garden furnituires. The children will enjoy the garden where is also set a trampoline. Situation: ********** Les Fortous is ideally situated on the earth of Black Perigord.
