We provide both holiday accommodation on its own and fully organised, guided walking holidays on a weekly basis, where all one has to do is arrive at Montpellier airport or railway station, we pick you up and return you when your walking holiday is over, all for one set price. We are about 65km from Montpellier airport and less than an hour from the Mediterranean beaches (Serignan, Valras, Cap d'Agde, Marseillan, to name a few) this beautiful self contained apartment and bed & breakfast accommodation is ideally placed for a great holiday in the sun! Situated on the outskirts of a picturesque village in the Haut Languedoc National Park, the visitor is in easy reach of the forests and mountains, gorges and caves, the unspoilt medieval villages of Herault. The historic cities of Beziers, Montpellier, Carcassonne and Pezenas with their cosmpolitan cafes, restaurants and boutiques are all within an easy drive, as are the seafood restaurants in the many pretty villages along this stretch of coast. And if one is really adventurous there is a ferry from the port of Sete that will take you to the Balearics or Morocco. Le Bousquet d'Orb is a picturesque village nestling in the beautiful Orb valley. It has a quiet, rural atmosphere. Le Bousquet d'Orb, is within walking distance of your holiday accommodation, boasts 4 boulangeries, a Credit Agricole (bank), 2 bars, 2 pharmacies, hotel with restaurant, a pizza restaurant (which delivers!) and 2 small supermarkets. For the larger supermarket chains (Intermarche, Super U) the small town of Bedarieux is about 10 minutes away by car. Our holiday accommodation is on the ground floor of an old farm house and renovated stone barn in the wine producing area of Languedoc. We have one self contained apartment that has a double bedroom with en suite bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen/diner and living room. There is also a comfortable sofa bed which will provide ample space for two more adults or two children. The stone barn has four double bedrooms each with private bathroom. Our guests have full use of our large garden, barbecue area and private parking. For the sport-lover Lac du Salagou is a 20 minute drive away and offers a range of water sports at its brand-new sailing complex. This is true rambling country with a myriad of well-marked paths through gorgeous countryside. In this region one can also find pony trekking, para gliding, freshwater and sea fishing, rock climbing, bungee jumping, cycling and canoeing. We are a 5 minute drive away from the picturesque village of Lunas with its outdoor pool and leisure facilities - perfect for a family day out. The summer season is filled with fetes and festivities, including the famous Feria in Beziers with its bullfighting and flamenco. There are the many colourful markets in which to spend a delightful morning browsing amongst the local produce, which includes delectables as paella, Cantal cheese, oysters and clams, Lucques olives, rare local salamis, artisanal breads, and more. This is wine producing country and the visitor can sample the excellent local wines and talk with the producers at the many nearby domaines, which include such well known names as Faugeres, St. Chinian and Minervois. Our visitors may be pleased to know that our nearest cave (winery) is just a 5 minute walk away, where they will be pleased to fill a jug with their wine "en vrac" (loose). Rental includes bedlinen and electricity but we ask visitors to bring their own towels if letting the self contained apartment. For those with young children/babies, we can provide a cot, baby bath and an on site babysitting service.
