Area Description
The houses are set on a headland on the golf course which overlooks the ocean and there are wonderful views of the Hook lighthouse and the bay. The quaint fishing village and beach of Dunmore East is a five minute walk. Golfers can get reduced fees at the golf course, which also has a bar a restaurant and is 50 yards from the house. There are two parts to the village, the Strand and the Harbour. There are nice restaurants and pubs in the village which serve lunch and dinner. There is also a very nice cafe which serves breakfast and lunch. Within easy reach of Tramore, Passage East, Hook Head and the Comeragh Mountains. Dunmore East Golf Club overlooks the village of Dunmore East, with panoramic views of the village, and bay, the Hook Peninsula and Waterford Harbour Estuary. This course promised to offer you idyllic surroundings, fresh clean sea air, combined with stimulating and challenging golf for both the high and low handicap golfer. House super -Great place - everything one could need to have an enjoyable vacation - scenery out of this world - village perfect - had dinner at The Strand, The Ocean and The Spinnaker - all very enjoyable, The Ship was not open when we were there. Played golf on the golf course beside the house. Awesome, the last nine holes are just great and the scenery out of this world. The woods walk beside the Ship Restaurant is lovely - it circles the village. Swam in the sea in September, bit cold but very envigorating. Can't wait to come back soon. Shane, Mark and Chris.
