Since a few months we have been taking serious responsibility and action for tourism impact to the ecology.

Puerto Rico is one of the countries that generate more garbage in the world with 5.6 pounds per person a day, in comparative with USA 4.5 pounds.

Recycling is not very promoted or organized leaving only a 10% of the garbage being recycled.

Tourism generates an immense amount of garbage. In the apartment there will be a blue plastic bag, for all recycle materials.

Puerto Rico has an avarage of 3 cars per person and carpooling does not exist yet in our vocabulary.

The apartment is walking distance to many places, for example:
Ocean Park Beach very nice bathing area, 5-7min walk,
mini mart 1 min.
many really good restaurants (2-5 min),
Puerto Rico Art Museum 15 min,
Plaza del Mercado Santurce ( small market place)
Condado center 15 min.

You can also take A5 bus ( 3min from apt) that reaches Old San Juan, or ( other side) Isla Verde, or transfer bus to Rio Piedras to the Big market and University of Rio Piedras ( mayor University in PR nice campus) .

If you were planning to rent a car it can be for less days saving money not having to worry about traffic hours or releasing CO2 into the ENVIORMENT.

Puerto Rico history of electricity power is very sad. Since 1893 the country was hydroelectric powered. In 1952 hydroelectricity was replaced by petroleum burning turbines that generated 98 % of all electricity on the island.

So electricity is very expensive and generates amazing amounts of pollution. The apartments have ecofriendly light bulbs.

The apartments have AC, We know the Caribbean is hot and with Global warming and all!! but
it is very important to us that you turn off AC when you exit the apartment so we can save energy, not pollute as much and keep prices (we are in the most afforadable range).

Cleaning is a big part of us; every time we clean an apartment it is minimum of 4 loads of laundry. We use ecofriendly detergent, helping to stop contaminating waters. Also all the cleaning agents as toilet bowl cleaners, “Windex type” and are ecofriendly industrial cleaners that kill and sterile all germs harmful to humans. Most are acid based.
