This delightful three-level apartment is in a 12th century, former abbey, one of the oldest buildings in the medieval centre of Beaune. It has the feel of a house raised to second floor level. The sensitive and very imaginative renovation combined original elements such as the massive oak beams and limestone walls, with modern finishes and fittings. Great attention has been given to the use of space, lighting and equipment. The apartment has been given 4 star rating by the Beaune Tourist Office.Rue Maizieres is a medieval street in one of the quietest parts of the town centre and is only 3 minutes gentle stroll from the market place, the famous 14th century Hotel Dieu (Les Hospices de Beaune), cafés, restaurants and shops. Beaune is at the heart of the Burgundy wine-producing area and is the centre of the Burgundy wine trade. Major road and rail routes allow easy access to Paris, Lyon and other European cities. The apartment is reached by the original stone, spiral staircase.
Parking is nearby. We provide a permit for both on-street and secure parking (our tenants have never needed to use the secure parking). Some typical visitors' comments :
