Spring is already here!... Colors and scents in Greece are by all accounts exceptional! Our garden, designed in an effort to combine Mediterranean indigenous plants and cultivated varieties is at it's most glorious with lilacs, irises, poppies, felicias, frezias, lavender, thyme and roses putting a show that is in tune with the birds' chirping and the sounds of the invigorating water breeze...Don't miss it!Located in an unspoiled quiet little semi-pedestrian residential street of Nea Makri, a suburb of Athens on the coast of East Attica, this secluded summer house with its own leafy garden, fruit orchard and organic vegetable patch constantly changes following the seasons... This is a great solution for anyone wishing to spend sometime near Athens and its cultural attractions, while at the same time enjoying the benefits of the sea and the coastal climate in a relaxed environment. Ideal for couples alone or with one child, who appreciate an ecologically minded environment and enjoy the proximity with the coast (200 m, 5 min on foot). The house is small but makes up with carefree outdoor life in the huge verandas and garden that more than double its space for meals, reading and playing! The bathroom and kitchen were recently refurbished with new appliances. In addition to the bathroom shower there is an outdoor shower, particularly suitable and pleasant after sun-drenched time spent at the beach. All the amenities exist within easy reach: AB Supermarket and bakery (200m, 5mins) Open-air market with local produce on Thursdays and many local vendors for vegetables, fish, meat/poultry, bakeries and local wine. Bike rental (300, 7 mins) The town square with lots of shops, an open-air movie theater and lots of eateries. The port and marina with seafood tavernas and bars for evening strolling. The area is suitable for long walks along the pedestrian walkway that connects Nea Makri all the way to Marathon and Schinias (4kms). The sea water is clean and excellent for safe swimming. Lots of sightseeing available: Marathon archaeological museum, Tymvos, the Olympic facilities of rowing in Schinias of the last Olympic Games and the beautiful sandy beaches readily available. Further options: Agia Marina (15 mins) connects with ferries to the close-yet-distant island of Evia. Evia offers unparalleled opportunities for exploring practically virgin terrritory. From Rafina (10 mins) you can catch a ferry or boat to a variety of islands including Mykonos, Kythnos, Tzia and many others. Connections to and from the city are many and easy. By car there are three alternatives: If you are in a hurry, the Attiki Odos highway offers the possibility to get to town in less than half an hour. As an alternative, following the Marathon road will get you to the city in anything between 30 mins to one hour, depending on traffic, driving speed and your destination in the city. Yet another option, over the Dionyssos and Pendeli mountains through an unwinding road, offers breathtaking views of both the coast and the Athenian landscape...
