Known for its 180-year old water-powered mill, and wonderful pancake flour, this historic, mid-lake location is the home to a most unique vacation property. Atop a former well-loved, area antique shop is ?Millard?s Nook,? a comfy one bedroom apartment. Named for Millard Fillmore, our 13th US President, who once attended and taught school in the original 1820?s farm house, the apartment was developed as part of an extensive renovation of the building in early 2000.
With all the amenities available for a most enjoyable stay, the apartment is comfortable, well-appointed, and appealing; AND it is right in the middle of everything the area has to offer. You could not find a better place to unwind and soak up the picturesque Finger Lakes region of Central New York State.
Enjoy nature's beauty bicycling or driving along miles of rolling rural roads, past farms & mature forests, and around gorges, streams, & waterfalls
You are also less than 2 miles from Skaneateles Lake, ?the Jewel of the Finger Lakes Region,? known for its water?s pureness, clarity and beauty. Water sports abound and there is easy access to the lake from many public access locations in the area. In addition, you are only 12 miles from the charming Village of Skaneateles, at the top of the lake, with many unique shops, boutiques and world class restaurants.
Historic sightseeing and wineries are nearby, as well as sportsmen opportunities and entertainment venues too numerous to mention.

Holiday getaway to Millard's Nook
A guest from Moravia, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in July, 2016 This was a great place to stay- easy to find, far enough out of the city that it felt like a real escape, but still a quick drive to many adorable Finger Lakes attractions- and the Carpenter Falls hike is almost right across the street. The home was clean, well equipped, and exactly as you would expect from the listing. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our weekend there and breakfast on the deck each morning.
John S. from Montauk, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 13 days in July, 2015 The apartment was adorable, but not as clean as we would have expected. We stayed there a couple of years ago, had a wonderful time, and then booked it for 2 weeks this year. However, there were ants around the house and cobwebs behind some of the furniture. I don't think we'll be coming back.
Sandy C. from Guilford, CT recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in February, 2015 My daughter and I just wanted to get tucked away somewhere cozy over winter break, and this place was PERFECT! So cute and comfortable. Everything we needed to cook all our meals. Love the decor.
Reviewed by: Shareen C. recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2014 The place is as described and excellent, we really enjoyed the location and stay. The icing on the cake is the owners, they were very accommodating when we had to add a guest to our group and they even mailed school papers that we forgot. Absolutely awesome!
A guest from Toronto, Ontario recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in August, 2014 This is a comfy and clean home away from home. The decor is featured on Google's images of Skaneateles' historic buildings. Absolutely everything you might need is provided except briquettes for the bar-b. Rather than it being a detriment that it is 12 minutes from town, it is quiet and central to places worth visiting eg. Ithaca and its Falls and vineyards. Also enjoyed the town of Skaneateles. Be sure to visit the old mill across the street.
Reviewed by: Lorraine C. recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2014 My husband and I had a family wedding to attend in Skaneateles. We have been very happy with Airbnb and, once again, were not disappointed. The apartment is located a lovely 15 minute drive from Skaneateles. The apartment is cozy and quiet and just as depicted in the photos. The kitchen is well equipped with a supply of coffees and teas. There is also a nice selection of books, DVDs and CDs for that rainy day.Our only negative comment is that the refrigerator is noisy. This is a charming apartment and we would definitely stay here again when in the area.
Reviewed by: Pamela C. recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2014 Has a very nice stay in this rental. The apartment was beautifully decorated, and very cozy. The place was ideally located 11 miles from the town of skaneateles: close enough to enjoy everything the town has to offer, but far enough away to not have the negative impacts of traffic. Nice hiking paths nearby, less than 2 miles away, with a beautiful waterfall. However, the path is not maintained, so be prepared for muddy & steep conditions. Nice winery nearby as well.Because we came with pets, the rental was absolutely perfect. It offered a large fenced yard in which the dogs ran & played. The only negatives to the rental was a noisy refrigerator that seemed to run constantly & the high sulfur content in the water. We would definitely stay again, and actually plan to do so in the Fall to take advantage of apple picking.
Charles I. from Austin, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in May, 2014 We rented the apartment for a week and attended our granddaughters graduation in Ithaca. The apartment was very accessible to Ithaca, Skaneateles and Syracuse. It was well furnished. We would stay again. .
