The Bedrooms bear the names of the family members who have chosen and furnished with great care down to the smallest detail their rooms according to their own tastes, and they overlook the surrounding countryside and the court of olive trees.
The house of 180m2 , is detached, but overlooking this the owners of this property personally take great care and manage the house with great passion and are at your disposal for all your requirements. The inside of the house has a large and light living room of over 40m2 , a kitchen with a French door leading onto the veranda, 5 spacious bedrooms all with private bathrooms.
All the floors of the villa are terracotta which were recovered intact and were originally made at the furnace in Pienza, the ceiling of the living room has exposed wooden beams and trusses, while the bedroom ceilings are different they have been painted in lime in keeping with the Tuscan tradition. Each room has been painted in a different colour, which makes the atmosphere particularly cosy and inviting. The panels in the bathroom, and the tiles in the kitchen and the lamps are made of ceramic which has been hand-made and painted. The furniture is solely Tuscan, some of which the family have completely restored, or acquired in the antique markets of Pienza and Cortona. The bed linen and curtains are all hand stitched, selecting high quality materials such as linen for the sheets and the curtains, cotton in romantic 'country' design for the duvets. The shutters of the Living room and the kitchen are made out of wrought iron and glass.
The technological appliances consist of an air-conditioning and heating system for each room, Colour TV are in every bedroom. The latest generation of solar panels heat the water in the swimming pool, providing it with a pleasant temperature even in spring and autumn. The kitchen is well equipped, with all the electrical appliances. Moreover, you will also find private parking for your car inside the house.
Outside the house there is a spacious garden, with olive trees, cypresses and native plants, a panoramic parterre, in which you will find a real outdoor living room. The large swimming pool 7 x 14 m with breathtaking views over the Crete is surrounded by a sun terrace which has sun loungers, umbrellas and garden furniture of a high quality and comfort. The Veranda, which can be accessed from both the living room and the kitchen, is covered by a shady wooden pergola and has a large table where you can enjoy your meals outside. The farm Le Logge di Sotto is an ideal place for spending your holidays in the heart of the Crete Senese. Only 4km from Asciano and 20Km from the city of the Palio, on the crest of a hill outlined by the panoramic Laurentana Road, which winds between ravines and 'biancane' (grooves of limestone), the farmhouse, with its stone walls, is a typical example of this rural area most sought after today. A recent and accurate restoration finished in March 2006, has allowed the owners to realize a project to unite technology with tradition, through the selection of high quality materials and appliances for inside the house.
Regarding the position of the farmhouse, you could say it is 'strategic': in fact you can go out on foot or by bicycle and follow the footpaths and white roads which plough through the crest of our countryside, populated by numerous wild animals (deer, hares, falcon, buzzards, pheasants etc.), and take the occasional photo and admire the surrounding views that you won't see anywhere else. Alternatively, from the Logge di Sotto by not travelling too far by car you can reach the beautiful cities of art and the most suggestive Tuscan country villages: Siena (only 20Km ) Arezzo, Pienza, Cortona, San Gimignano, Montalcino. If you want art and culture on your holiday we are surrounded by parish churches and abbeys (only 10km from Monte Oliveto Maggiore), castles and villages; there are numerous museums (il Palazzo Publicco, la Pinacotecca Nazionale, il museo dell'Opera del duomo (the cathedral museum??), and the architectural masterpieces of Siena, (Piazza del Campo, the Cathedral, The Fortess Medicea, the fountains??) Dates not to miss during the summer are the 2nd of July and 16th August when the Palio horse race is held in Siena, where you can appreciate better and see inside the life and neighbourhoods of one of the 17 contradas. And in Asciano don't miss Il Palazzo Corboli (one of the most important small museums in Italy), the museum of sacred art and archaeology, the excavations of the ancient Etruscan tombs and the valuable Roman mosaic, only a few steps from the main street 'Corso' .
Finally to taste the local food and wine of our region, you should visit: the cheese factory at Torre a Castello (only 10 minutes) here they produce Pecorino and other delicious cheeses which carry the mark of DOP of Tuscany; the wine cellars of 'Brunello' in Montalcino, to taste and buy one of the most famous wines of the world; the farms which organically produce beef from the 'Chianina' breed, Pork and salami from the Cinta Senese, fruit and vegetables and of course extra virgin olive oil.
Breakfast with pastries, jams and biscuits home made by the owner will be included in the rent amount. Typical Tuscan dinners prepared with genuine ingredients can be served on request.
