This fairy tale medieval castle, once property of the notorious Borgia family, is exceptionally well situated on the borders of Tuscany and Umbria on the shore of the lake Trasimeno. Today, after so many centuries of history, it appears in its present form, imposing stone facade with one tall tower, Renaissance arches, cross vaultedceilings, large stone fireplaces, lovely flooring of oak parquet or terracotta. It is situated in a fenced off park of 9 acres, abundant of secular trees, flower beds, and beautiful plants. There is a big swimming pool and a tennis court. Adjacent to the pool there is a toilet, a small bar area and a shower. The castle interiors, decorated with splendid frescos, are very tastefully furnished with elegant and valuable pieces of furniture. On the ground floor there is a living room with big fireplace and a billiard, a dining room, sitting room with cable TV, large country kitchen, restroom and the laundry. On the first floor there is a wide entrance hall, a large living room overlooking the lake with another big fireplace, two double bedrooms with their privat bathroom, one single bedroom, another double bedroom with one bathroom. At the second floor there is one double bedroom, two twin bedrooms, one single bedroom and three bathrooms. At the tirth floor there is a beautiful terrace overlooking the lake and the sourroundings. The Castle has 14 sleeps and 6 bathrooms. This beautiful property has been used as the summer holiday residence of the Palombaro family since the end of the Nineteenth century. Only in 1993 its doors where finally opened to the public and rented out. This exclusive atmosphere represents a unique experience. In the serene countryside, where the stillness is punctuated only by the sounds of wild birds and the cicadas, it is hard to imagine that Hannibal celebrated his great victory over Rome on the shores below.
It is the ideal location for relaxing and visiting enchanting villages of Umbria: Perugia, Assisi, Orvieto, Todi, Spoleto, and Gubbio. Tuscany is right next door, starting with the village of Cortona, making it ideal for experiencing the wonders of Italian cooking and wines. Italians come to resort town of Passignano, situated below Il Borgia, for its charming lakefront embarcadero where restaurants line the shore and ferries take visitors to the interesting islands dotting the lake. This provides an ideal location for guests to blend with the locals and enjoy Italy's most charming roots like a native.

Lodging for guests that are not with you at the castle, may stay in the medieval village of Monteluce which can be admired from the terrace of our Castle.An unforgettable experience for what still receive many thanks from the brides with I worked with and with I have a relation which most of the times has been goneover the normal work relation.

SECURITY DEPOSIT - A security deposit of ? 400 must be paid directly in cash to the owner or his/her representative upon arrival at the property. This cash deposit will be refunded at the end of the rental period, less any additional expenses (i.e. use of the telephone if applicable) and any damage the property may have incurred.

CLEANING AND HEATING - The price of the weekly rent of the Castle includes cleaning daily (6 hours everyday, 6 days a week), domestic appliance, maintenance of the garden and the pool, the water, gas, electricity, and weekly change of bed linen and towels.
Starting from 2008 th price includes welcoming dinner for 14 people.
Chef available upion request for dinners-lunch-breakfst at the castle during the week cost is euro 250 per meal plus the cost of actual food (the menu can be decided by the renters).

EXTERNAL MAINTENANCE - The owner or his/her representative have, if necessary, free access to the property for essential maintenance purposes (garden, swimming pool, etc.).

NUMBER OF PERSONS:The castle has 14 sleeps. The number of persons present at the property may not exceed the maximum number of sleeping places.
