Wonderful view, wonder time! Phyllis L. from Lone Grove, OK recommends this property.
Stayed for 5 days in August, 2015 Alicia J. Hollis, Realtor office made the rental process very easy. From start to finish, the agent was very knowledgeable and helpful and the process took very little time since it was handled very professionally.
Property Manager Response: Response from Alicia J. Hollis, Realtor Phyllis we appreciate so much your comments for your accommodation at the el matador unit 446, and we try very hard to help our callers with directing them to the website and explaining everyone the location to the condo and what is in it. I am very happy to here that the Agent was very helpful to you, and we hope we are to everyone else. I hope to see you again, and rent with Alicia Hollis Realtor, and please do let your friends know that we are available to help you all. See you again.
Condo 446 A guest from Slidell, LA does not recommend this property.
Stayed for 5 days in June, 2015 Always enjoy staying at the El Matador. We have been coming since 1997. I have to admit the condo we stayed in (446) was a disappointment. The AC broke the first night. The furniture was old and stained. The outdoor furniture was rusty. The kitchen was old and in need of updating. I will always return to el matador for our beach vacations. The facilities themselves are spotless and we attended to but who ever owns 446 really needs to update the condo.
needs lots of improvements A guest from Kalamazo, MI does not recommend this property.
Stayed for 28 days in February, 2015 Needs many improvements. Can hardly open balcony door. Old furniture, furnishings, kitchen dishwasher, screens are wholly. Stove ancient. Small dining table. Old curtains. Old patio furniture. The only reason we rent this is we only rent for 2 months and most owners want at least 3. Good view of the gulf.
Horrible!! James H. from Teere Haute, IN does not recommend this property.
Stayed for 8 days in August, 2014 Of all the El Matador units we have stayed in, this is far and away the worst. The owner of this unit should be ashamed to rent it. There was no pride of ownership visible here. Other than maybe the kitchen appliances, the unit hasn't been updated. The condo overall was dirty. The kitchen cabinets are original with paint nicks, scraps, etc. Some of the plastic drawers were warped and full of crumbs. Because of a shortage of silverware, we had to run the dishwasher every day. The living room furniture was so dirty we covered the large pieces with blankets. Some of the towels were dirty, including lipstick stains on one. The carpet and drapes were stained. The beach chairs in the balcony closet were covered with rust and mold. There was black mold under the stopper in the master bath sink. The only good thing about this unit was the view from the balcony and the porch.
Fantastic Location and View of the Gulf Marilyn F. from Dutton, AL recommends this property.
Stayed for 7 days in July, 2014 The balcony of Unit 446 has a great view of the Gulf and the swimming pool. We enjoyed sitting there when not on the beach or at the pool. There were 2 adults and 2 children there for a wonderful week. We did have A/C problems one day but the Hollis Realtor management team had a repairman there within an hour of our call. The kitchen in this unit could use some upgrades and we could not get the DVD player to work for TV in the living room, but otherwise we were pleased and had a great time. We highly recommend the El Matador. We have been going there for years and hope to continue to enjoy it for many more vacations.

Stayed for 5 days in April, 2014 BAD. Ceiling leaked from a/c left puddle on floor. A/C guy just looked. It had been repaired before so probable mold in ceiling, I am a mold consultant so didn' want work done while there. Adult kids rented unit next door. Asked for a refund since paid for a week and left early. Was told "I don't have that authority, will get back to you". Still no contact. SAD.
El Matador 2013 Kelli P. from Pine Bluff, AR recommends this property.
Stayed for 8 days in July, 2013 For this to have been my first visit to Florida I don't have anything to compare our condo to, except for other states & places I've visited, but this particular unit was not in the best shape. We were close to the beach & the pool which I liked. But, the curtain on the sliding glass patio was wired together so we were afraid to pull it back to open it up for the ocean view that we were suppose to have. The master bath tub's sliding glass doors were broken so it was hard to open & close and the drain was clogged. Which to our surprise was promptly fixed once I called Alicia's office. The guys that fixed the drain were very friendly, but just looked at the tub doors & the patio curtains. I may use Alicia again to find another condo, but it will not be at the El Matador
cleanliness and overall condition of condo A guest from Tullahoma, TN does not recommend this property.
Stayed for 3 days in June, 2013 The location was and view from the balcony was perfect. The layout of the condo was fine. The overall cleanliness was poor. The mirrors(mainly the one in the dining room and master bedroom) had spots on them and hadn't been cleaned in a bit. There were doritos in the living room floor by the couch. It just appeared that it had not been cleaned properly for a while. Also, the shower door in master bath was broken and fell on my daughter. The hair dryer in hallway bath was broken and it did not stay in the holder and hit us all in the head! I was impressed with how quickly your staff responded when I called on Monday morning regarding the deadbolt that was broken and looked like it had been kicken in. They responded immediately. This should have been fixed before we got there. We put a chair in front of the door Sunday night.

Stayed for 4 days in May, 2013 We have stayed at El Matodor for many years and leased from Alicia Hollis several of those times. All the condos were excellent and working with Alicia Hollis was great.

Stayed for 30 days in February, 2013 Alicia has turned out to be a friend as well as a realtor. We have be renting condos from her for about 7 years. We have been very satisfied with all the condos. We have enjoyed our stays every year. Thanks Alicia and Steve.
Long Time Renter A guest from Glenwood, AR recommends this property.
Stayed for 7 days in June, 2012 Our family has been going to El Matador for 16 years. We have used different realtors, but have always found each condo to be nice. However, the one complaint we have concerns the beach usage. We love being in the last property because it is a calmer, quieter area., but in the last few years treaters have begun using large canopies and leaving them on the beach for their entire stay. They put them up in prime areas, ultimately causing other renters to put up smaller umbrellas considerably further down the beach. This year the situation was worses, with 8 canopies up along the beach side by side.
