This utterly sweet vacation rental cottage overlooking Rockport's beautiful Folly Cove has all modern amenities but maintains the ambiance of the year 1805, when it was built. A thoughtful eye has preserved the property's historical integrity while adding modern comforts.
Bright and sunny, the cottage has 3 bedrooms (with window air conditioning units in the two upstairs bedrooms), 2 sitting areas and one bathroom with a shower. There is a lovely yard with picnic table and parking for two cars.
Walk across the street to Folly Cove and enjoy the view from the shared deck (furnished), then follow the path down to the water?s edge for a refreshing swim on a hot day. Pets are welcome for an additional fee.
This is the sister cottage to Happy Days Cottage -- both cottages may be rented together for larger groups (together they accommodate 12 people).

Quaint and artistic summer cottage
Louise L. from Croton on Hudson, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2015 We enjoyed our stay in this charming historic cottage decorated with the owner's beautiful paintings. Well-equipped, comfortable furniture, lots of outdoor seating and tables, and best of all, the deck across the street perched on the rocks is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the ocean view. The very nice owner who we met briefly dropped off garden tomatoes for us and quickly fixed the bathroom doorknob that had fallen off when we mentioned it to him.Realtor web site and app made all details and check in very easy.
A guest from Skillman, NJ recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in August, 2015 Had an incredibly relaxing vacation in this historic cottage. So cute, so quaint, surrounded by beautiful artwork! The backyard was the perfect size for a family birthday party! The best part, by far, was the deck across the street! The views, the sunsets, the lobster boats, jumping off the rocks into Folly Cove- it was very difficult to leave!! Deano the dog loved it, too! Woof-woof!

A guest from Carlisle, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in May, 2015 The cottage was a delightful place to stay. We wanted somewhere near the water as we visited Salem and Boston. Across the street there is a deck with a tremendous view and access to climb on the rocks lining the shoreline. The cottage is quaint and comfortable. It was cold at night during our visit in May. There were space heaters that helped keep the bedrooms warm through the night. Otherwise, it was cold. The kitchen is small, but has the basic equipment needed if you plan to cook. Bring all the basics with you. There were no condiments, coffee, sugar....provided. The Wifi was weak and inconsistent particularly with cell phones. Our service with Verizon was spotty. Rockport and Glouchster are wonderful towns to explore. The Cape Ann Whale watch was very worthwhile. Check out Groupon for tickets. Would Highly reccommend eating at Sea Level in Salem on Pickering Wharf. Fabulous meal and view sitting on the open air deck. If you are late night folks remember you are in a more remote area. Gas stations and food places close early. Thank you for sharing your cottage with us.
Liz M. from South Orange, New Jersey recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2014 We had a lovely week at Cove Cottage. The setting was beautiful and convenient for all we wanted to do. We liked being at the northern part of Cape Ann within walking distance to Halibut Point and Lanesville, both favorite destinations. The cottage was quaint and homey and perfect for our family group of 5 which included our first grandson. The property is lovely with a spectacular view of Folly Cove from its deck across the street. We enjoyed sitting there at different times of the day watching the ducks and snorklers. I would highly recommend this lovely spot!
Robert S. from Warwick, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2014 The cottage is lovely....hardly luxurious but doesn't pretend to be. Sweet, friendly neighbors. A short walk to a majestic, beautiful view with a magnificent sunset! We had a relaxing, quiet vacation and that is what we hoped for. Would love to go again!
Property Manager Response: Response from AVH Realty Inc We're glad you had such a great time at Cove View! What it may lack in luxury, it makes up for with inviting charm, beautiful views, and a great location. We thank you for choosing Atlantic Vacation Homes, and we wish you an excellent rest of the year! Hope to see you again next year!
Chris P. from Deerfield, MA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2013 Very impressed with the level of courtesy and professionalism of both AVH Reality and our landlord. The cottage is quaint and historic, with all of the "mod cons"---modern conveniences---to include a/c, WiFi and Direct TV (although we didn't turn it on all week). The property's deck across the street overlooking beautiful, quiet Folly Cove is heaven first thing in the morning with a cup of coffee---or anytime actually. This is a wonderful place to stay and we hope to return.
Property Manager Response: Response from AVH Realty Inc Thank you for the kind review - we are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay, and that you took advantage of the incredible beauty that Cape Ann has to offer. We definitely hope to see you again soon!
Reviewed by: Ursula F. does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2013 This property could be very nice, but it has to be renewed. The house smells really bad and the bathroom is a horror. The aircondition is so loud, that you can`t sleep in the night and it doesn`t really cool down. The only happening, that makes things come better, is the owner of the house. He is very nice. I`m really upset about your agency and I will no more book via Atlantic Home. I also told my american friends about it. For this amount we have got a wonderful airconditioned house with another realty agency.
Home with charachter in spades and perfect for family of five.
A guest from Littleton, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2012 Coming from Colorado we were thrilled with all the nuances of this adorable 207 year old home...hand-hewn beams, original artwork, many built in bookcases. The interior looked like a professional decorator had picked out the pillows and bedspreads. We loved our own private path down to Folly Cove where our three boys enjoyed playing on the rocks and finding shrimp and crabs. With one king size bed and three twins, it's perfect for a family of five.
Property Manager Response: Response from AVH Realty Inc Combine the rustic charm of this historical house with the convenience of modern amenities and already you?ve got a winner?Put it near Rockport?s beautiful Folly Cove and it?s even better! We?re glad we could help provide you and your family with such an awesome experience. We would love to welcome you back next summer!
A guest from East Dorset, VT recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2010 We had an absolutely fantastic stay. AVH looked after us well -- welcome package when we arrived with a follow-up call that afternoon, and a check-out reminder on our last day. Place was clean and tidy, owners were very kind and welcoming, we never had a single problem or complaint.

A guest from Minneapolis, MN recommends this property. Stayed for 14 days in July, 2010 The house could use some updating for the plumbing in the bathroom but otherwise the home is well maintained and comfortable.Cell phone coverage is also very spare and hard to attain in Folly Cove.
James T. from Charleston, WV does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2010 Lots of bugs, especially ants in the large bedroom. Windows are very old, kitchen awkward. Location good with access to cove and great state park.
