A guest from Sugar Land, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in May, 2016 The place was in a great location, nicely decorated and very spacious. T he only issue we had was the low water pressure and the master bath was not cleaned well. There is something brown?? splattered above the shower on the wall, the shower had not been cleaned where you walk in to it and I washed dust and dirt from it and there were several brown sticky spots around the toilet with hair stuck in them! Other than the master bath, we really enjoyed our stay. We also liked the convenience of the keyless entries.
A guest from Wingdale, New York recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2016 My daughter and I were visiting Savannah for a few days and stayed here for 3 nights. Less expensive than 2 hotel rooms and we got 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, a living room, a kitchen and laundry facilities. Far more space and ability to relax and feel comfortable than 2 hotel rooms. Right across from beautiful Forsyth park and right around the corner from $2 beer at the legion hall! :-)
Thomas S. from New Bern, NC recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in May, 2016 The Forsythe park apartment was everything the VRBO listing site advertised. Roomy and near to all the attractions we wanted to see. We did all city sightseeing on foot and never had to use public transportation. The unit was clean and included all the amenities needed for comfortable living. The kitchen table was a bit small for 4 person dining. The plumbing fixtures made finding the hot water a bit of a challenge. And the staircase to the upper unit was steep, narrow, and long. But, the overall convenience more than made up for those small shortcomings. The management company was excellent and we had no need for any assistance during our week long stay. I would certainly recommend this property to family and friends. Our savannah visit was excellent with the Savannah Theatre and the Ships of the Sea Museum great attractions to take in. Also, don't miss the Mighty 8th Air Force museum.
Reviewed by: Christopher C. recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in April, 2016 We had a wonderful stay! Really enjoyed being near the park. Very easy to get around town, and really enjoyed coming home to such a relaxing apartment. The living room truly felt like a home away from home. Nice kitchen, comfortable beds, couldn't ask for a better trip.
A guest from Asheville, NC does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in March, 2016 This is a nice apartment in fairly central location. And it's nice to just cut into the park and down Bull Street to get into town. Kroger market is just two or three blocks away. Beds were comfortable. The two issues we had were; one, the water pressure in the king bedroom was pathetic, both in the shower and the sink. Both hot and cold. The other was the mice or rats in the kitchen who ate my english muffins. Couldn't figure out where part of my muffin went until I found the bits and pieces plastic bag that the vermin had chewed through to get at the muffins. Of course I found the bits and pieces after I had eaten the muffins. Doesn't seemed to have harmed me. But you might suggest folks keep everything in the fridge, or get an exterminator. Would be nice to have an iPhone dock on the stereo.
A guest from Reading, MA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2015 Stayed in the 2nd floor unit of this house. All the essentials were provided and the unit was clean. It was on the southern most end of Forsyth Park, the properties as you head north become more elaborate and nicer. The park across the street is beautiful. The one complaint is that both showers had no shelf or place for soap, shampoo, etc., a minor detail but noticeable by both couples using the unit. Overall satisfied.
A guest from Lutz, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in November, 2015 Perfect location! The rental was located next to the park and the race finish line! The property was clean, comfortable and convenient. We had a reserved parking spot for our car behind the building and never needed our car during our stay as we were able to walk to everything.
Sarah A. from New Castle, Delaware recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2015 Loved to walk out the door to experience all the great things Savannah has to offer. Can't wait to go back
Jennifer K. from Lawrenceville, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in September, 2015 We had a great time and it was a great unit. I would definitely rent it again. A couple things that note, Drayton is a very busy street so there is traffic noise. We knew that upfront so we were ok with it. There is more noise during the week than on the weekend. The location at the park was perfect. It's like a mini Central Park. We watched tennis players, joggers, football practice. It's an active, fun park. The beds were really comfortable and the sofas were also good. The bedroom I stayed in was large but narrow. The end of the bed was a little too close to the mantle. I must have bashed my leg on the footboard 10 times. I suggest just a headboard rather than a full bed. I don't want to sound critical. It is a great home and a super location. I would book the same unit again.
David H. from Indianapolis, Indiana recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2015 We visited with friends and had a wonderful time! We initially had some issues with water temperature but contacted property management and someone was at the house within 30 minutes to fix the problem. We were very pleased with our decision to stay at this house and have already recommended it to friends!
A guest from White, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2015 Overall the stay was great. The photos were a little misleading as we stayed in the upper level and the pictures must have mostly reflected the lower level which appeared to be nicer. The home was clean and conveniently located. We walked every where which was nice. The city is beautiful. I would warn though that the street the home is on is quite busy at all hours of the day/night and people drive much faster on this road than other local streets. Also, walking at night should be in very lit places.
Clifford D. from Scottsboro, AL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2015 My wife, sister-in-law and aunt met up in Savannah and was fortunate to stay at the Forsyth Park Chateau. It was exactly as pictured and everything was wonderful. It's a close walk to the market, the tour shuttle stops and of course Forsyth Park. We met the property manager while there and she was extremely accommodating and friendly. We all highly recommend this property and Savannah Dream Vacations.
Christy B. from International Falls, MN recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in April, 2015 My family arrived at the Forsyth Park Chateau at almost midnight the first night. The house was easy to get into and the rental agency had already set up the crib, high-chair, and toys we had ordered for our one year old daughter. It was great. When we woke in the morning we saw the gorgeous view. Forsyth Park is a great location in Savannah. We did lots of walking, and it was perfect. One thing to note - in the master bedroom - the lights liked to turn on in the middle of the night when the fan was on. One night it was at least 5 times. Not sure if this is electrical, or just a ghost, haha. I know Savannah is full of them. This was just a minor annoyance, and the stay here was perfect.
Marjorie M. from Daphne, AL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2015 We had a lovely stay over Easter weekend. The park is steps from the front door. The unit is a little dark and could use more light in the den and master bedroom.
Tammy S. from Panama City, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in March, 2015 Great location. Could partake in the festivities just a mile away or stay in for a quiet evening. Beautiful home with amazing character and modern amenities. The decorators did a wonderful job keeping the original charm with a contemporary flare. The agents were attentive and responded quick to any/all questions. We will be back!
A guest from Edison, NJ recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in January, 2015 Six of us got there late night. I didn't receive the instruction before. So a lot of things seem like playing hide-and-seek for us. But it's really a excellent place to live! We cooked there, and watched movie at night. Sweet places. Though we have questions and text them late night. They still response as soon as they could. :)
A guest from Boylston, MA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in December, 2014 Beautiful home, comfortable and clean. Very enjoyable......the perfect location. The management staff was available for all questions. Very professional.
A guest from Waukesha, WI recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2014 This property is well priced and in a good location. After booking we found other friends had stayed there and had good things to say about this property as well. The rooms were clean well appointed. Parking convenient. The bedroom on the north corner was a tight fit to get around the fireplace. Ghost stories aside, the lights in the south bedroom did turn on the middle of the night. I do think there's an electrical problem that needs to be addressed. The owners are VERY attentive and helpful.
Dana Z. from Oakdale, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2014 The house had a lot of charm and character. It had nice updates and was very clean. The only negative was that the pans were not very good but other than that it had everything. It was a good location, very close to the Dot. Also, Forsyth Park is great for for kids with the splash pad and playgrounds. We enjoyed our stay!
Evelyn D. from Greensboro, NC does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2014 the house was very nice and we enjoyed the location across from Forsyth Park. The master bedroom needs to have beside tables so one does't have to place things on the floor or move the shelf above the bed lower so it is easy to reach without standing on the bed. The guest book was filled up so we could leave our impressions. No one said welcome or goodbye which is fine but a touch of hospitality would have been nice. We would probably stay elsewhere next visit.
A guest from Pfafftown, NC recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2014 The property was as nice in person as it appeared in the photos. The location was good and the premises were clean and in good order. The only negative was that the beds were uncomfortable and the mattresses made a terrible squeaking noise with any movement. We stayed with another couple so both rooms were occupied and they made the very same observation about their mattress. Marcia was the ultimate professional and an absolute pleasure to work with, catering to every request with excellent service and timely responses.
John K P. from Hastings, NE recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2014 The decorating was modern, yet fit in well with the historic home. Both bathrooms were beautiful and very modern. Beds comfortable. The location was convenient and beautiful Forsyth Park a few steps away. Appreciated the off street parking.
A guest from Fort Collins, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in March, 2014 The flat was perfectly located, nicely decorated and very clean. My only complaints are fairly simple fixes. The pull-out sofa is so uncomfortable that we all got a good laugh from it. If a feather bed was kept in that rooms closet that could be tossed on top it would make that bed sleeepable. We grabbed all of our SCAD daughters comforters and blankets from her dorm room to try to add some cushion to that mattress. Also, since the place sleeps six, it would be great to have six coffee cups (instead of 4), more water glasses, wine glasses etc. Once again, a super simple fix. I indicated above, the location can't be beat, the flat was very clean and we had a wonderful stay. Thanks!
Holly P. from Swanee, GA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2014 The toilet in the front bedroom leaked constantly. The toilet in other bathroom had trouble flushing. The linens were not where we were told they would be. Had to search for them. The instructions on how to lock and unlock the doors were backwards. The sleeper sofa was the most uncomfortable sleeper sofa I have ever seen. People who stayed downstairs did not lock the outside door. Maybe it should lock automatically. Lighting in den was really bad. Needs a different light in ceiling. Very clean. Liked the location.
A guest from Racine, WI recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in February, 2014 This home was retrofitted with modern, new, kitchen and baths but still had plenty of historical detail for us to enjoy. Our needs were well met for cleanlieness, location and ease of entrance (loved the keyless). WiFi was so critical to us for our IPAD (we don't have smart phones) - thank you. We were able to rearrange our flights, etc. with the weather we were experiencing. We were glad for off-street parking but found it to be a quick walk to most places. Suggestion to walk if it's before 5:00 PM, as parking is an expense and is hard to find otherwise. Thankfully we were able to extend our stay due to the ice storm that hit Atlanta. There are so many good restaurants nearby that we never once made it to a grocery store. Some small maintenance issues, hot and cold water reversed (dangerous) in the master bathroom; couldn't turn off the light in the master bedroom unless the fan was off, which was ok in the cold weather but might not be when it gets hot. We did experience street noise as mentioned in prior reviews; in a busier season, I can see the potential for more, but we're heavy sleepers. Overall our experience was very positive and even mentioning the issues I did, we'd stay again.
A guest from Oakland, MD recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in January, 2014 Overall we had a nice stay at Forsyth Chateau-weather was cold but no rain/snow:)26 steps from street level to unit but great location!
A guest from Asheville, NC does not recommend this property. Stayed for 16 days in December, 2013 Carpets in living room and kitchen just need to be replaced, beyond cleaning. Couches in LR need to be cleaned or they might better be replaced. Lighting could be better/replaced (tall floor lamp has holes). Don't count on much water pressure in the bathroom shower. Replace the toaster. It was sufficient, mostly because of the location.
Larry C. from East Norriton, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in November, 2013 Toaster didn't function. One of the remote controls for the ceiling fan didn't work. You really need a non-stick frying pan. Everything else was good. Overall it was a good stay.
Jennifer M. from Bufford, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in November, 2013 The house was very nice and clean. The location was great because we could walk to the attractions, River Street, City Market, the Squares, etc. It was a little over a mile to walk to River Street, but it didn't bother us. We took a nice walk through Savannah and looked at some historic things along the way. A couple of disappointing things...the wine bottle opener and the toaster were broken. Drayton street is very loud. It was difficult to sleep. We were in town for the half marathon, and the finish line was right outside the house, so there was a lot of set up and take down while we were there, and it was very loud. We knew we were at the finish line, we just didn't expect the late night and very early morning noise, but now it makes sense that they need to set up and take down at those hours. The traffic going by was also loud. Overall, the noise was not ideal, but the girls and I just had fun with it and enjoyed the uniqueness of the trip. It was much better than cramming into a hotel.
Samantha F. from Eustis, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2013 I couldn't be happiier with the stay we had at 1002 Drayton Upper. The house was perfect for our family and was tidy and in the perfect location! Krogers Grocery store right around just a couple blocks away within walking distance and Forsyth Park directly accross the street! The keyless entry was perfect for all of us to be able to come and go without worring about who had the key as well! We will definitely be staying here again when we come to visit!
Karen T. from Lakewood, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in October, 2013 This was such a treat for my daughter and I. We want to come back and stay longer. One night was definitley not enough. I am thinking about giving this as a gift to my nephew for a wedding present.
Brian J H. from Lakeland, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in October, 2013 Great location. Light in front bedroom came on and would not go off and as a result fan had to be turned off which made room hot. Beautiful bathrooms but more pressure needed. Would return as stay was enjoyable.
Linda A. from Callhoun, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2013 We met my daughter and her boyfriend from Minnesota in Savannah for a long weekend. Everything about the trip was fantastic. The house, the location, the food and nearby Tybee Island and Hilton Head was amazing. Could not have asked for a better get a way!
A guest from Greensboro, NC recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2013 nice place for our group to stay. the outside patio area is quiet and tranquil, but from our upper unit, you must walk outside the front door and down the sidewalk a few steps (if this is in the morning like it was for me, i was in my p.j.s:) instead of having direct access to it from the unit. overall, we enjoyed it very much. thanks to manderly for being available and accessible at all times.
Dale B S. from New Carlisle, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2013 Nice place, great location, quite a few stairs to second floor but good exercise, and the 'ghost' was intriguing.
David D. from Rochester, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in June, 2013 Traveled w/ my wife and teenaged daughter. love the location, directly across from Forsyth Park. Krogers Mkt. is a 3 minute car ride away. You are at the south end of the Historic Dist. so nothing is more than a 20 minute walk or a 10 min. car ride away. The Sav. Dream Vacation Team is very professional and helpful. 1002 Drayton a Dream. Both upper and lower units have 2 BR and 2 Baths, plus a private courtyard. A very minor issue was taken care of very quickly and professionally.
A guest from Anthony, NM recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in May, 2013 Great location, very nice apartment. Comfortable beds and pillows. Well eqiupped kitchen. Great home away from home. The only improvement needed is a better mattress on the sofa bed.
Anita B. from Franklin, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2013 The property at 1002 was perfect for us. We love the Garden District and wanted to stay in the heart of the area in a period home. The apartment was in excellent condition and was true to our expectations for southern elegance. We had alot of trouble navigating the one way streets and around the various garden squares. Probably not a problem for others, but we could have used a better map and some tips to prevent two directionally impaired tourists from circling the area so many times. Not your fault.I contacted your office for help and was called back promptly and given the info I needed. Jeff was GREAT. Manderly calling from Germany to respond was over the top!AB/BS
1002 Drayton stay - Comfort, great food and Forsyth Park
Chris W. from Titusville, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in April, 2013 We rented both the upper and lower for four couples and found it very comfortable with nice decorations and landscaping to set the tone of historic luxury. Across the street Forsyth Park was a beautiful place for a walk and the courtyard was very pleasant, although Drayton was very noisy due to traffic. Very convenient to restaurants and 700 Drayron, Clary's Cafe and Old Pink House were some highlights. Savannah is a great place to visit and we will be back with Savannah Dreams.
