Chase A. from Columbus, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2016 It was good. Nice location. lot of on street parking. Would be nice if the room codes was only 4 digits the like the front door.
Property Manager Response: Response from Savannah Dream Vacations We are glad you enjoyed your stay in our vacation home. Thank you for the feedback. As far as the codes the company we use uses six digits codes for added security, so there is nothing we do. We welcome your next stay.
Kara L. from Terre Haute, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2016 We had a great experience with our rental. The process to rent was easy. We found our place and got settled in quite easily too. The place lived up to its description and the photos. The decor was nice too. It felt like a home away from home. What was best was its location in town. We walked everywhere! It's just a few small block from forsythe park. I am so happy with our choice to stay here instead of a hotel. I would recommend this place to anyone!
Cassidy W. from Gaylord, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in May, 2016 Great location for Savannah, walkable to everywhere but still out of the way enough when you were there you didn't feel like you were in the midst of throbs of people! Very clean as well, I'm a manager in the hospitality industry so cleanliness for me is huge and I'm pretty picky! Some of the pots and pans could have been cleaner but we recleaned, wasn't a big deal. Would recommend and will be returning!
A guest from Chicago, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2016 I wanted to stay in an apt close to the park where I was running a half marathon one morning. The location couldn't be better! It took less than five minutes to get to the park and no more than 20 minutes to walk anywhere else in the historic district. The bed was super comfortable and it was great to have the washer/dryer available. As a lone traveler, I felt very safe and secure in the apartment. I thought that management did a great job with detailing out everything you needed to know about staying in the apartment and on things to do/see in Savannah as well. Thanks for a great experience!
A guest from Denver, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2016 We really enjoyed our stay here. The rental was clean and had everything we needed. Couldn't have asked for a better location. The company was easy to work with from start to finish.
A guest from Clarkston, Michigan recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in March, 2016 We enjoyed our stay here very much. The location was perfect and the property was very clean. If you are planning on doing a lot of cooking, there is not a ton of room in the kitchen but we only ate breakfast here so it worked out fine for us. There were so many great restaurants in Savannah I would recommend not eating in anyway!! Shower could use a little updating. Check-in and check-out was a smooth process. I would rent this property again in the future.
A guest from Ann Arbor, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in March, 2016 This was a perfect location for visiting Savannah. Right in the center between downtown and Forsyth Square. One of the lovliest streets int he historic district.
A guest from Tampa, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in February, 2016 GREAT PROPERTY! For our first visit to the area, we were very happy with this location. Great area, very spacious apartment and we appreciated how well the kitched was stocked. Would definitely recommend to our friends.
A guest from Lawrenceville, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in February, 2016 This property was located in a great centralized location. We literally did not drive anywhere. The property was very clean but did have a musty smell like it hadn't been ventilated in a while. Would recommend putting plug in fresheners. Aso be mindful that the bedroom faces Taylor St, so it is a bit noisy if trying to sleep in. Also the bed was too soft, felt like I was sinking in. Great WiFi connection! Overall great stay with minor inconveniences. Location definitely makes up for it!
Zachary W. from Winter Park, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in January, 2016 My girlfriend and I spent a long weekend in Savannah and choose the 2nd floor unit as our home-away-from-home. I must say that I was highly impressed with the accommodations: nice, spacious living area, well-appointed decor, and a very comfortable bed. My only complaint is that the bathroom is a little on the small side, but this can be expected in older buildings. Lastly, I was very impressed with the location; close enough to walk throughout the historic district, but far enough away from all the crowds and noise. I can't wait to return!
Susan M. from Godfrey, IL recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in December, 2015 We love Savannah and the area this rental was located in. The problem was that it was to close to a very busy street, so there was traffic noise all the time. Rental did not come furnished with kitchen accessories as advertised. The property management company went above our expectancy to make things right. They turned out to be a very big help.
A guest from Traverse City, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2015 My wife and I were very happy with this apt. She was quite impressed with the cleanliness! The location was very convenient and we walked everywhere. We didn't do any cooking in the apt. as there was a great selection of restaurants available. This was our first time to Savannah and the city is quite impressivegreat. We look forward to returning. We greatly appreciate the concierge working with us in finding a place to park our RV while staying here.
A guest from Port Moody, BC recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in December, 2015 This was a perfect home base for 5 days with a 2 year old to explore the city. Everything was walkable ( with a 2 year old!) food nearby, drinks, parks. Really great spot. The bed was sooo comfy!
Reviewed by: Angela R. recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in November, 2015 We loved our time at this property. Since we were in town for work, it was important that we had a nice place to come home to at night, and still be in close proximity of anything that we wanted to do without getting in a car. This place was perfect. The bed was extremely comfortable and we were provided with more than enough toiletries / towels for our 4 day stay. This is also walking distance to anything you could want to do in downtown Savannah.
Tommy Lou T. from Lebanon, KY recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2015 Loved being in the middle of the historic homes and in a historic home. Close to the squares and all kinds of shops and restaurants.
Matthew E. from St George, Ontario recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2015 We stayed here for 4 nights to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary. The apt. was easy to find, the instructions were very comprehensive,it is just off Monterey sq and very central for everything we wanted ( we walked everywhere). The bed was probably the most comfortable we have ever slept in ( my wife wanted to take it home). It was all clean and nicely decorated and mostly well supplied, overall suited our needs. Just a few things, if you like to cook ( although Savannah is well appointed for restaurants), we never found the electric kettle and if you wanted to use the oven you would be disappointed as you can't open the door more than 4" as it's blocked by the washer/dryer combo. There is a toaster oven that we had to use instead and I wouldn't call the kitchen well equipped. We ended up buying a couple of gadgets we needed and just leaving them for others to use. It wasn't a deal breaker but being a couple who loves to cooking together on holiday we had to adjust a few things we had planned to cook. The kitchen is very small and there is very little prep area. We would recommend it though and we would stay here again.
Kelly K. from Westlake, Ohio recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2015 Safe area, good walking distance, easy instructions provided by management on parking, professional and courteous when contacted. We had a wonderful experience and plan on using Savannah Dream Vacations again! Our only suggestion- as girls- is the addition of a full length mirror in the unit!
Impressive, Convenient, Accommodating, and Inexpensive
Benjamin U. from Durham, NC recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2015 I chose this rental over tons of options including AirBNB, other private rentals, and hotels. The reason for it was the price, location and apparent value online. Even prior to arrival I knew I picked the right rental. Manderly, owner of the rental, was extremely helpful prior to our arrival with all of our questions and provides a clear e-mail that answers your most common ~50 FAQs. The space is very nicely remodeled and with two balcony spaces, it provides plenty of options to enjoy the outdoor space. It is easy to walk to any location within Historic Savannah and would recommend to anyone.
A guest from East Ellijay, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2015 The location was perfect for my sister and me to tour Savannah and just spend time together! We had some issues with the microwave and light in the kitchen but the maintenance team took care of it promptly! Would stay here again!
Stephanie G. from Saint Augustine, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in June, 2015 My friend and I decided to meet halfway between us in Savannah, GA for a 5-night girls vacation. This rental property was perfect for what we were looking for- affordable, safe, great location, and charming. This is not a modern hotel, so don't expect the fancy bathroom. However, the entire space was set up great for us, and we definitely used the living room space to relax on days when we were just to exhausted from the heat to do 12+ hours of site-seeing. If we had a normal hotel room, it wouldn't have been nearly as relaxing, as even our time in the unit seemed like vacation. We walked over to the Farmer's Market on Saturday morning, and I was able to run and feel safe in both the morning and the evenings. However, walking back late at night after sunset was a bit sketchy, and we chose to stay together instead of doing our own thing and then walking home alone. This property is not in the heart of the downtown area, so the crowd thins out, especially on weeknights. The one drawback was there was only a single window-unit ac, positioned in the living room. When we tried to lessen the power because the living space got too cool, it started to give off a weird musky smell. However, you had to keep the air blasting to keep the bedroom cool as that room did not have its own unit. Parking was not nearly as much of a hassle as we expected, but make sure you don't forget which garage you park your car in during the weekdays! Also- you do have to go up multiple staircases to reach this particular unit. This is advertised, but be sure to believe it- you go up 3 flights just to get to the unit.
Kimberly K. from Camp Lejeune, NC recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in June, 2015 Loved the property, location, and whole experience! My children were little noisy for the second floor since it's an older building, but for an enjoyable stay it was amazing!
A guest from Greenville, SC recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2015 Getting into the property couldn't have been made any easier. Not having to go to the mgmt company first was wonderful! All correspondence by phone & email. The location was in the historic district, within walking distance of many squares and other sites, but a little too far from Bay & River Street for us to walk. It was neat that the floors and windows in this building were original. You had to turn on the handles at the bathroom sink really quickly so they wouldn't make pipe noises throughout the building. Everything was very clean except for the dust covering the floor under the bed and the blinds. The mattress probably could stand to be replaced (sunken spot in the middle on one side). We didn't like that there was no blind or curtain on the glass back door of this unit, but overall we were satisfied with our stay. I wouldn't recommend it for more than 2 people. Not thrilled about being required to take our own trash to the "alley" since we did pay a cleaning fee with our reservation. We would definitely recommend going by the visitor center to pick up a 24-hr parking pass for $7 ($12/48 hrs) that's good at the parking meters all over town. This will save you many worries. We also recommend walking the streets near this property to see all the iron gates/entryways, building dates, etc. So much history and beauty. We recommend doing a trolley tour first so you get an overview of the town, sites and places you might want to visit (be picky about which trolley company you use). We DEFINITELY recommend Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room for lunch.
Maggie S. from Milledgeville, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2015 We had a perfect three nights in the Taylor 2nd Floor rental. It was the perfect size for a family of three. We walked to the park, which was perfect for the toddler.
A guest from Palmer, TX does not recommend this property. Stayed for 5 days in February, 2015 Mix up with info regarding code for entry kept us waiting and finally had to go to another destination to use lavatory! Upstairs neighbor sounded like an elephant when walking back and forth across the apt. starting at 8 am. Tub/shower needs attention;easy plumbing repair could do it. Half of the water goes out of main spout when showering. This property is good for younger, budget-minded people who don't mind hearing neighbor's goings on. The apartment was spotless, which is always nice. I would recommend a new bed cover as it is looking very "tired". Hallway very drab perhaps due to lighting. Lovely balcony just off of bathroom. After all of this, we did enjoy Savannah very much! Loved being withing walking distance of the cathedral and other things. Gorgeous city.
A guest from Lawrenceburg, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in October, 2014 ????? The 28 E. Taylor St. Apartment is great! Very Clean and the bed is comfortable! I love that the origional features of the home are kept mostly intact! The keyless entry made things so easy and the location is in a nice part of town! Just off of beautiful Monterey Square and steps from the St. John's Cathedral and Colonial Cemetary. Lots of boutiques nearby and walking distance to everything! With all the wonderful food the City has to offer you will want to walk! Romantic, affordable, worth it x's 2!!! Marcia and Manderly were quick to respond with questions regarding the city and such!
Dave A. from Lyons, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2014 This was great, It was close to everything, shops, places to eat, squares. The rental was clean, very well kept and a nice neighbor hood.really loved the bed, very sft and relaxing.
A guest from West Jefferson, NC recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in September, 2014 We vacationed in Savannah for our belated Honeymoon aka our 1st anniversary. We had a pleasant stay in the unit. It was close to many great restaurants and only a short 10-15 min walk to Bay and River Street. The area felt very safe and we never felt uncomfortable walking back to our rental in the late evening. We will be back for another visit.
A guest from Canton, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2014 4/5 all the way around. Great location and a good deal vs booking a hotel in the area. The only small issue was that when booking online, some of the photos shown were not of the unit we booked (ex:bathroom picture was completely different and had a claw foot tub). Our bathroom did not and was very different than the picture, however the apartment was a great place to stay.
DeDe M. from Riverside, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2014 My husband and I felt like we hit the jackpot with this gem. It was the apartment home for us. It was super clean, great safe location, comfortable bed and eveything nearby, even Enterprise Rental Car. The a/c worked great. We were sad to leave and plan on staying there again.
A guest from St. Petersburgh, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2014 It was absolutely fantastic. We were blown away by the cleanliness and the little extras we kept discovering throughout the apartment. It was an amazing location, we brought bikes and never once got back in the truck once we arrived. We've recommended it to our friends and we WILL most certainly be back.
Reviewed by: Jacob H. recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2014 My wife and I had a great time in Savannah. We really enjoyed staying at Taylor 2nd floor apartment. It was really clean, the bed was really comfortable and our host was great. My wife and I would stay there again!!
Carol B. from Bozeman, MT recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in May, 2014 We just visited our daughter at SCAD and stayed at this location. It was Great! Love the location, don't need to rent a car you can walk to every where. Very clean, and the management that runs this company are the nicest people. Highly recommend it!
Gina S. from Rochester, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in May, 2014 The apartment was in a great location!! It had the amenities that you needed. The only thing I would change is the bedspread . Due to the fact people are anxious about bed bugs,I would use a blanket so that it can get washed after each stay. Everything else was just perfect!!!!!!!!!!!
Donald D. from Catonsville, MD recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in April, 2014 Front porch floor spongy, no cold water in kitchen. Wife slept on couch because of my snoring, then we see on bag 35.00 charge for using linen. Could not figure how to get to lower yard. Spent 30.00 on parking. Location was very convienent, 1st floor was great would stay there,. Thanks.
A guest from Atlanta, Georgia does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2014 I've stayed at several vacation houses and apartments in Savannah and this was my least favorite, despite the great location, which was the best thing about it. The parking situation was not easy. Since we arrived around 9:00 p.m. there was no place to park on the street so we had to park in public parking. Warning: Liberty Street Parking closes on the weekend and you can't get your car out! Other apartment issues were 1.) no dining area 2.) Kitchen small and run-down 3.) Ice maker didn't work, nor were there ice trays (we reported after the visit and this should be fixed) 4.) bed was uncomfortable 5.) no central air 6.) small landing on the back not very nice for sitting. There was a front balcony accessible through the bathroom (?!) but the wood floor seemed weak so we didn't trust it. Cost, after cleaning and taxes was over $200 a night, which seemed very high.
Cheryl P. from Lower Plenty, Victoria recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in April, 2014 E. Taylor Street was a perfect location to stay in Savannah. The apartment was very clean and comfortable and the authenticity of the building gave us an insight into the atmosphere of Savannah. Having a copy of Midnight In The Garden of Good and Evil in the apartment was a special touch. Would definitely recommend dealing with Savannah Dream Vacations.
Wanda C. from Caduas, Puerto Rico does not recommend this property. Stayed for 13 days in November, 2013 This property has an excellent location in the historic district. Overall, we loved our stay there; however, it is unfortunate that the property is not kept to the standards it deserves. The heating system was not working, one stove burner was not working, a drawer in the refrigerator was broken (I almost lost everything I placed on it when it fell), there was an electrical malfunction on the outlets in the wall facing the backyard, and at the end of my stay I found that the washing cycle in the washing machine was not working (no wonder my clothes looked dirty after I washed them). The management company did the best they could to address the issues (i. e. we were given space heaters, fixed the burner and the drawer), but for $1,300 it is my expectation to get a rental unit in which the basics are in perfect working order. Savannah Dream Vacation gave me a $50 reimbursement for all the inconveniences. They also made me aware that they administer other properties in the area. Since they were so diligent in trying to fix the many issues I had, I may consider staying at other property in the future, but I think this one is out of question.
A guest from Broomfield, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in November, 2013 We were happy that we chose to stay in the Historic District and I believe this unit was as presented on-line. It defintely has character. They warn you that the sound through the floors carries and it does. We had a heavy footed neighbor upstairs and it was loud as they walked around and came up and down the steps outside of our unit. We were two woman traveling alone and unfamiliar with the area, but felt safe walking everywhere - most of the time. If you are not familiar with the Hitoric District, this apartment is located at the Southend of the District which means it is quite a walk to the River Street, City Market and many shops and restaurants. However, we were happy that we did not rent a car as the open air cabs and pedi cabs are very reasonable - if you choose not to walk. We had one glitch with gaining access to the unit - the code was texted to the wrong cell phone so we were sitting on the stoop with our luggage for a bit. Management did contact us after we had left several messages. However, it was unnerving given that they already had our money. It would have been a nice gesture for them to compensate the inconvenience in some way. Final suggestion to the managers, the shower curtain liner needs replaced, there are no hair dryers as stated in the paperwork and another mirror, perhaps in the bedroom, would be helpful.
A guest from Columbiaq, SC recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2013 A nice property in the historic area of Savannah. However, when we arrived the bed was obviously broken (two of the center support legs had broken off and the center top part of the bed was caving in). I called the office number and left a message (it was around 9 pm). I got maybe an hour of sleep over the course of the night. When I had not heard from the office by 10 am the next morning I called again and apparently no one had gotten my message? They were able to fix it that day but the lack of communication was quite annoying. Also it was so obviously broken it should have been noticed by the cleaning staff before our arrival.
Shauna R. from Rainham, Essex recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2013 Had a lovely few nights here. The place was immaculate and good information was supplied. Liked the locking system too - felt very secure. Ideal location, could really feel the atmosphere. We put into use the airbed, which was simple to put and very comfortable, being very deep. In fact, it was too deep for the sheets provided! Only one problem we came across was the light in the kitchen didn't seem to want to turn on via the wall switch and we tried everything, but in the end had to use the pull, which is quite high! Also, this place involves climbing some stairs to get to the front door, then another set inside up to the 2nd floor. So those with walking problems should be aware. Definitely recommend this place.
A guest from Daphne, AL does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2013 While I was very happy with the location of our rental, there were some issues with the space. The shower has a shower curtain half the length needed. There was a huge dead locust in the bedroom windowsill. The air conditioner (window unit) cools the den too much and doesn't cool the bedroom enough. We would have to turn it off to watch tv until we got hot. The bed was super comfortable, though!
Janine & Michael V. from Phoenixville, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2013 WE loved our visit to Savannah and our accommodations were perfect. Great location, clean and comfortable. THanks!
Kelly F. from Murfreesboro, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2013 We had a wonderful time during our stay! The building was charming, well-tended, and the furniture and decorations were excellent. We were able to walk safely from our apartment to River Street, Forsythe Park, and back, and if we had any issue it was taken care of immediately (like when we couldn't figure the lock out ;)). I highly recommend this property for another couples stay! We will certainly return.
