A guest from White, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2016 This unit was perfectly located for my running weekend with my mom for the Publix Savannah Women's Half Marathon. We were able to walk to the race in about 5 minutes and also be close to the expo as well as dining, River Street and other areas yet it was quietly nestled off Monterrey Square to keep a peaceful setting.
A guest from Hoover, Alabama recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in March, 2016 This appartment is in the historic district on a beautiful street.Pros:1.Close enough to walk to most of the things to do in Savannah.2.Clean.3.Great Customer Service.4.Ample Parking. 5.Good value.Cons:1.Outdated toilet looks nasty and requires several flushings per use.2.The one window A/C (& heat) is not adequate for cooling the entire appartment. We were in Savannah in March, the living room where the A/C is located was cool but the bedroom was hot, the supplied fans were not adequate enough to cool the bedroom. Also, when sitting on the couch in the living room, which is located near the A/C unit, you need to cover up but there were no blankets at all in the appartment. I can't imagine that this A/C will cool in the heat of a Savannah summer.3.The couches are white leather and very worn and stained.I would only recommend this property if the guests are 100% OK with all of the cons mentioned above. With just a few "tweeks" this place would be an awesome rental.
Kelly H. from Brandon, MS recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in March, 2016 The rental is very cozy in a good way.Everything we needed for our stay was there. We did not do any cooking.FYI there are not any baking pans if you decide to bake something, but there are plenty frying pans. The sofas are starting to show wear and the bed is as well. There is a full sized stove and refrigerator which were nice. There is only one window unit air conditioner/heater and it gets really warm in Savannah,so the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen are really stuffy even with using all of the fans provided. There is little to no water pressure,so showers, washing dishes and flushing the toilet are problematic. The walk up to the 3rd floor can be a pain(especially when you are carrying luggage or groceries, but it really was not that bad. The neighborhood is awesome and very quiet.
Reviewed by: Michael T. recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in March, 2016 My wife Mary and I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Monterey Square Sky Parlor in historic Savannah. We loved the historic charm of our 160+ year-old unit. The original floors, transom windows, and historic feel were very warm and inviting. Location was just steps away from Monterey Square, and a few more steps gets you to beautiful Forsyth Park. It's about a 10-15 minute walk to the riverfront area depending on how fast or slow you go. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, and historic squares to keep you busy all along your walk to wherever you are headed. Our hosts were also very gracious in allowing us to check-in two hours early. The only concerns I have with the unit itself are minor; the water pressure in the shower is abysmal, which could probably be improved with replacing or cleaning the shower head. Also, the hot and cold water supply lines on the washing machine are backwards. Again, both minor and easily-rectified issues. Overall, we loved the unit, the charm, the location and overall experience found during our stay in Savannah.
A guest from Delafield, WI does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in February, 2016 The unit was clean and the location was good. We had some issues with the unit: Water pressure in the shower was extremely low, bathroom faucet was not attached to the sink, couches were old and worn, weekend parking was a hassle. We had to park many blocks away because on the weekend parking is only allowed on one side of the street due to street sweeping. Also, the cross street was very busy so there was quite a bit of street noise.
A guest from Valley Center, CA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in January, 2016 My husband and myself loved the location. Was decorated nicely. Bed a little too soft for what we are used to. Could use a dresser of some sort for our clothes-could be placed in the closet even. Bathroom sink faucet was loose so we had to be careful when we turned the knobs. We moved the stool from the bedroom to the kitchen to place the coffee pot on as this made it easier than up above the stove. Otherwise, we loved this place.
Brittany C. from Winston Salem, NC recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in January, 2016 I was very satisfied with everything! It is a great place to stay that is surrounded by everything. The inside of the parlor has a very home-like feeling. My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful apartment. I have no complaints and I will be back again! Thank you guys for everything :)
George S. from Downingtown, PA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2015 Nice stay in a great location within walking distance to everything. Apt. Was cute and comfortable. Parking always available on street. So much to do in this city. Crystal beer parlor close by for craft beer and good food. Only issue was the hot water smelled like rotten eggs whenever you used it.
A guest from Fairburn, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in December, 2015 I loved the unit, and I stayed on the third floor, which had a wonderful view, especially off of the kitchen fire escape. The bed was comfortable and clean, the entire unit for that matter was very clean and well kept. The only down side was that for whatever reason the hot water in the shower, and sinks smelled like rotten eggs. Other than that though, everything was fine. The unit's location was also pretty good, I did drive to river street whenever I planned to hang out down there, but this was mostly due to the cold weather. If I had taken this trip perhaps during the summer then I'm quite sure I would've walked everywhere.
Kenneth Y. from Spout Spring, VA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in November, 2015 Had a great time! The property was just as described and perfect for our stay in this beautiful town! Easy to set up even on short notice and agent was a pleasure to work with. We will be back!!
Nicholas H. from Queens Park Ward, ENG recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in October, 2015 We had a fantastic stay in Monterey Square Sky Parlor. Wonderful location in the Victorian part of town. Booking and organisation process first class. the apartment had everything we needed. Tow small quibbles. A map showing local shops and bars would have been useful when we first arrived. We found a fold up dining table in a cupboard - but there was plenty of room to have a small table permanently in place.
A guest from Lexington, SC recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2015 This vacation rental perfectly met our needs! We were within walking distance to all the local hot spots. The rental was exactly as described online.
A guest from Stokes, North Carolina does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2015 The best thing about this place is its location. It is very convenient to downtown and good restaurants. You can walk pretty much anywhere. It also seemed to be a safe location. The apartment needs a lot of TLC. The couches are very old and warn and look dirty. The whole bathroom sink faucet was very loose. The toilet seat was about to fall off. The oval curtain rod around the claw foot tub was leaning, which made the shower curtain invade the space of the toilet. Also, there is no counter space or anywhere to place to conveniently store your toiletries. The water pressure in the kitchen is terrible. There is nowhere convenient to plug in the coffee maker. The only place is up high on a shelf which makes it a little dangerous. Other than a closet for hanging clothes, there is nowhere to store anything. There are no dressers or shelves to unpack your clothes. The mattress wasn't horrible, but it sunk in the middle, so I was rolling to the middle. There is no off street parking so if you go downtown to get a parking pass make sure you know your license plate number. We wasted a lot of time trying to get a parking pass. I would not stay there again.
Maurice T. from Nashville, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in September, 2015 Me and my wife spent our honeymoon here on 9/22/15 and this place was very nice! We loved the "feel" of the home and the location wasn't too far from River st so we walked to some places around us! We absolutely love Savannah and its historic feel and we'll definitely rent here again when we return.
Melissa K. from Blountsville, AL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2015 For our first trip to Savannah we loved Sky Parlor!! The decor and area really set the atmosphere for the trip. We arrived and just spent a couple hours relaxing and feeling at home. The convenient check in process was one of my favorites; no driving searching for the office to get a key. Where the apartment is located is very convenient to everything; a walk or short drive to many lovely areas. Manderly and Marcia were just great in emailing helpful information about our trip. My boyfriend really likes his air conditioning so the window unit and fans was not perfect for him but I felt just fine the entire time! This apartment being on the third floor was a plus and a minus for us. I hurt my ankle the day before vacation so that was difficult managing the stairs but we had so much privacy. We never heard any other neighbors. The kitchen was excellent having to whip up breakfast in the mornings. I enjoyed soaking in the tub with a glass of wine after all the Savannah walking. Overall, we loved this listing and this company!! Cannot wait to visit Savannah again.
A guest from fort myers, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2015 Lovely upper floor rental. Great space. No central AC but plenty of fans to help cool down in the summer. Good location central to downtown and historic district.
A guest from Branford, CT recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2015 The apartment was clean, quiet, nicely furnished, quality of linens nice. Only one window air conditioner at opposite end from bedroom was barely able to keep the bedroom tolerably cool. Water pressure in shower weak, and sink faucets/mounting literary slid when you turned them on - some simple maintenance would easily fix.
Reviewed by: Rob S. recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in June, 2015 We were pleasantly surprised about how perfect the rental was. The decorations were just enough without being over powering and busy. It was comfortable and in a very ideal location. It was easy to walk to any place in Historic Savannah from the rental and the places to eat in Savannah are some of the best in the world. The carriage ride was fun as was Captain Mike's Dolphin Tour. Alligator Soul is our new favorite restaurant and Huey's is a close second. Tybee Island was a disappointment, but The Crab Shack there was phenomenal. You also can't leave Savannah without getting ice cream from Leopold's. Roly Poly was one of our favorite lunch destinations for a light, very inexpensive yet delicious lunch. Our seven days in Savannah were stocked full of things to do and great memories made. We would definitely stay at the Monterey Square Sky Parlor again and we will definitely return to Savannah again.
A guest from Holland, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2015 We enjoyed having a quiet place in historic Savannah to rest in from sight seeing, and everything went smoothly with our stay. The property was well supplied and comfortable. I would suggest 2 improvements: adding a full length mirror, & enabling the washer to use cold water. We could only get hot water.
Eric D. from Brevard, NC recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in May, 2015 My wife and I absolutely loved the place. Very quaint, yet updated. Everything needed was right there. Perfect location. Walking distance to everything in Historic Savannah. The only flaw was that the Windows had no screens. Otherwise, we could live there.
Colleen S. from Toledo, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in April, 2015 We never visited Savannah before and never stayed anywhere except for a hotel before. Both turned out very well - we had a good experience in this rental. It was on the top (3rd) floor of the building, and I was out of breath carrying my luggage up when we arrived - all other times (without my 50 pounds of suitcase), I was fine. The location was great - walking distance to all places we wanted to go. I was nervous that we'd have problems finding street parking, but it was no problem. The bed was very comfortable and linens were clean. The shower was not the best - the water pressure in the shower was weak and one morning, the water temperature kept changing from warm to cold. I thought our unit had a balcony, but instead, it had a very small fire escape landing - that was a little disappointing. We called the manager late one evening - we were having tv problems. She was very kind and helpful despite the late hour.We will definitely visit Savannah again, and will try another vacation rental.
Richard N. from Hudson, OH recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in February, 2015 Very nice stay. Nice historic building that still retains its character. In historic district with short walk to parks and shops.
A guest from Linneus, ME recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in January, 2015 From the initial reservation process to the end of our trip the property management reps were outstanding. Their immediate response to questions and issues was greatly appreciated. The service they provided would induce me to use them again. The rental itself was in an ideal location for walking everywhere. For guests with old bones, the bed was exceptionally comfy. Only one critique, there is no table and chairs to sit at. Perhaps a small bistro set would work? I would definitely recommend this property.
Patrick C. from Mount Pleasant, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in November, 2014 This place is in the perfect location. It's a great place for a retreat with you're wife or girlfriend or vice versa but I would not suggest staying here if you have children. Difinitely would stay here again and the price was very reasonable.
Alexander D. from Burnsville, MN recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in November, 2014 Had a nice time in savannah, we enjoyed our stay, place was clean and renovated nicely. Fit our budget perfectly for the area. Comfiest bed ever.
Andy T. from Cambridge, Cambridge recommends this property. Stayed for 35 days in September, 2014 Property location perfect and property very nice, the only thing was the bathroom, the shower was very poor with low flow but manageable, any request to the rental agent was corrected very quickly. I was there for 5 weeks and was very comfortable, on street parking was never an issue if you stick to the parking rules.Overall I would say 8 out of 10
Lucy H. from Greensboro, NC recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2014 The apt was beautiful and in a great location! Savannah was a bit humid but lovely. We got our daughter all settled into her dorm at SCAD and we know she is going to love the city!
Marie Y. from Stanley, NC does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in September, 2014 The apartment was very clean, The bed comfortable and the space was plentiful. The AC was poor, cold living room & hot bedroom. Courtyard, which was part of the ad, was not accessible and plants were overgrown. The bathtub is very slippery and dangerous to shower in. We saw no staff what so ever in person. Never seen that before. We were not told about the parking until after booking.
Keith M. from High Point, NC recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in August, 2014 My wife and I celebrated our 20th anniversary with a weekend away in Savannah through Savannah Dream Vacations. We could not have been happier with the accommodations. The one bedroom + living room with kitchen and en suite was a perfect, historical and close proximity to the river front. We greatly enjoyed our walks around the city parks going to and from the river front. Bed was super comfy and the claw foot tub nostalgic. The management staff was very quick to return our call the two times we had questions. We will definitely return!!
Sincliar C. from Summer Hill, NSW recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in August, 2014 I recently stayed in an apartment through Savannah Dream Vacations on East Taylor Street. The apartment was clean, homely and had all the mod cons required which made it very comfortable to retire to at the end of each day. This was a perfect location within the historic section of Savannah. The apartment is conveniently located to Monterey Square, the historic Mercer House and numerous cafes, restaurants and shops on Bull Street. Forsyth Park is within easy walking distance to the south. The historic waterfront and cafes and restaurants in the historic town centre are also within walking distance with many sites to see along the way. The hosts Marcia and Manderly were both accommodating and assisted in ensuring my stay was relaxing and that all ran smoothly. I?d have no hesitation in recommending Savannah Dream Vacations to anyone considering staying in Savannah and I look forward to returning one day.
A guest from Stanley, NC recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2014 Location of the property was somewhat far from the main attractions, and, from what we could tell, was in a "sketchy" part of town (our car was broken into our first night). Overall, a decent place for the price.
Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2014 excellent location and communication with host; only complaint was that the property seemed slightly smaller than in pictures
A guest from Jacksonville, Florida recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in June, 2014 The apartment rental added so much charm to our vacation. The location was great for walking throughout the historic district and the apartment was large and very accommodating. The only thing the apartment needs is central heat and air or a 2nd wall AC unit in the master bedroom as we couldn't get that room cool even with the fans on full speed.
A guest from Salida, CO recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in April, 2014 Overall, a very pleasant place to stay. The only real drawback is that there is not a table to eat at. We ended up eating a couple of meals sitting on the back steps. The location is very good. Primarily residential and well away from the hard drinking downtown crowds. The only other thing to be prepared for is climbing the stairs to enter the apartment. If you can't physically handle stairs, find another place.
Reviewed by: A guest recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2014 The location is perfect. The apartment is perfect. Loved the bathroom, comfortable bed and the views off of the back of the 3rd floor unit.
Tori W. from Palmetto, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2014 The internet only worked in one area of the apt. Also the water pressure was non existing, other than that our trip was great
Rebecca K. from Claxton, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in March, 2014 We loved the location of the apartment, however, it was cold. There was no way to heat the apt.and it gets pretty cold in Savannah in March. The shower was difficult as the curtain didn't really encircle the tub and the bathroom was also cold so showers were definitely shorter than desired. I would rent it again in the summer but not when it's cold.
Gary S. from Lexington, SC recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in January, 2014 Had a great weekend at the Sky Parlor. Very clean and well appointed with everything needed if you chose to cook, but with so many choices for dining in savannah.... Why?It is quite a walk to the river but there are so many pubs on the way that breaks up the walk. Parking could be a problem if you do not pay attention to the signs. The staff was top notch and were very easy to work with. We had to change our schedule but was no problem. Would recommend this to a friend.
A guest from West Wardsboro, VT recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in November, 2013 This apartment was absolutely perfect!! We loved everything about it from it's location to its cleanliness to it's hominess feeling! The Rental crew was fantastic. Very kind, helpful and a joy to rent from! Loved them to pieces! If I return to Savannah I wouldn't think of renting anything but from them!
Jamie C. from Hamden, CT recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2013 This was my first trip to Savannah, and I was looking for an inexpensive place to stay in the heart of the historic district. This place fit the bill. It was in a great location, which was convenient to where I needed to go (I was there for a wedding, and the apartment was right within walking distance of the events). I really liked the privacy, and the door locking system (a keypad). As a single woman, I felt safe in the area. The only thing that wasn't exactly perfect was the shower, in that I felt uncomfortable that the shower curtains did not completely enclose the tub (see pictures on their website). However, I had no problem with the water pressure, as I've read in the other reviews, and the bathroom itself was clean. This apartment overall had a lot of charm, was safe and clean, and I would definitely think about staying here again the next time I'm in Savannah! Thank you for sharing your apartment!
Louise H. from Sunderland, Ontario recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in October, 2013 The location of this apartment is perfect. A few minutes walk to the beautiful Monterey Square and Forsythe Park and about a 15 minute walk to the river area. Being on the third floor the apartment is not suitable for seniors or disabled. The apartment is spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The kitchen was not very functional with few counters and one electrical outlet in an awkward location. The water pressures also is very low making having a shower a bit of a task. However, if you want to experience historic Savannah, this is the place to be.
A guest from Woodinville, WA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in October, 2013 I've stayed in short-term rentals around the world and this bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in - super plush pillow top mattress. There was no hair drier in the unit so I just called Marsha and she was cheerfully at my door in under ten minutes with one. The unit was very clean and extremely spacious.
A guest from ALBERTVILLE, AL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2013 Very nice place, great feel for the city apartment life. We walked most everywhere we went. The stairs were quite a challenge and there are some issues with water pressure. Overall we were comfortable and had a great time...
A guest from West Union, WV recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in June, 2013 I don't usually review things but our weekend here was just too wonderful to not share. We had never been to Savannah and decided 2 days before that we wanted to go away for the weekend. I'm always a little skeptical about purchasing anything on the internet but this place turned out to be the best part of our weekend! We honestly could not have been in a better location in Savannah. This place was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed. I wish we could have stayed longer! It is just the right distance from downtown so that you can easily walk to any bars/restaurants in under 15 minutes and enjoy the scenery on the way while also being quiet and isolated enough to feel romantic. It is right near what I think is the best square in all of Savannah, Monterey Square, which is also home to the Mercer-Williams house. If you're looking for a quiet, romantic condo with quick access to Forsyth Park, the best bars/restaurants, and historical sites, you should definitely stay here. We can't wait to come back!
Jeffery H. from Duraham, NC recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in May, 2013 The property is fantastic but seems to lack in some amenities of neighboring properties. The bathroom and kitchen are in serious need of updating. Another plus would be a balcony large enough for seating off of the kitchen in the back. It's a fantastic view of St. John's. The only other suggestion wold be to change the primary entrance over to the living room instead of into the bedroom. The location is amazing as is the exterior. I'd gladly come back even without the modifications.
A guest from Bennettsville, SC recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in May, 2013 My husband and I went away for the weekend. We had a great time in Savannah. E. Taylor is further away from the busiest parts of downtown, but is very close to the beautiful Forsythe Park. We loved sitting in the park. The house was great. The only negative is that there in only one A/C unit and the bedroom is not as cool as I would have liked....however, my husband and I are very hot natured. We had a wonderful weekend and would definitely stay here again!
Shari S. from Newman, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2013 Overall the stay was excellant, only one little issue and that was the water pressure in the bathroom.. Other than that which was not a show stopper the stay was phenominal.. Thank you
