Quaint Lamesville rental
Paula S. from Okatie, SC recommends this property. Stayed for 21 days in April, 2015 Unfortunately, we were not here on a vacation, but rather a stressful and sad time. Having said that, we are thankful that the owner allowed us to rent pre-season. The location made our situation much more bearable. The unit was very clean and comfortable. Our only negative comments are regarding the quality of the cookware- lots of it, but not in good shape! Also, the addition of a mirror other than in the bathroom and additional towel rack would have been nice- just a few inexpensive additions would increase the value of this rental. Great location for vacationing- walking distance to "downtown" Lanesville and Lanes Cove, could walk to the beach, about a mile away. Overall, I would recommend this rental.
Property Manager Response: Response from AVH Realty Inc One of the benefits of our renters posting reviews is to help Atlantic Vacation Homes and the owners recognize how the property can be improved. The owner of Griffin's Getaway will have a mirror hung outside the bathroom and is upgrading her cookware. Every year she picks a few areas to improve and she was planning to purchase new cookware for the summer season but hadn't gotten to it yet for the Spring! We are always delighted to hear from our renters. Consider the tasks, done! AVH staff.
Paula C. from Reading, MA recommends this property. Stayed for 56 days in June, 2014 This upstairs apartment in quiet Lanesville, was perfect for our needs. Very clean. Wall to wall carpeting, with plenty of space. 5 minute drive to Rockport. Short walk to a quite beach with great sunsets.Short walk to the Lobster Pool Restaurant. Could use some updating, but priced right and they took our two cats, which is the main reason we took this rental for 2 months while we were in between homes.
A guest from Wareham, MA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2013 My over all experience was good. The only thing I didn't like was that there was no air conditioner and the queen bed was extremely uncomfortable. The mattresses need to be replaced.
A guest from Lewes, DE recommends this property. Stayed for 70 days in June, 2012 I stayed here for 10 weeks summer 2012. It was a great experience overall. It is in a great location, close to Plum Cove Beach, the breathtaking Halibut Point State Park, and Rockport. It has all the basics you'd need for an enjoyable stay. It may not be the most convenient for a longer term rental since there is no dishwasher or washer/dryer but it is easy enough to wash your own dishes and find a laundromat. Another downside is that it was a hot summer and there is no air conditioning. That being said, most nights were very comfortable with the windows open and the fans that are provided; there is a great breeze being so close to the water. I would recommend this place to a friend looking for an affordable stay in Gloucester!
