Sherry E. from Dacula, Georgia recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in May, 2016 The townhouse was fabulous - even had an elevator to help get luggage up to the 3rd floor! Plenty of room for all the kids and right on the beach! The pools were right there as well - and a bar for the adults to sip on drinks by the pool!
Julie C. from Fenton, MI recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in April, 2016 The property was very nice however the elevator was out of order..that was fine for us but if I would have had a handicapped person with me the stairs would have been very hard on them. The pool was closed for repairs. One night we decided to hang out and have the crab legs at the Diner on location but found out they were out of crab legs and several other things on the menu so the waitress told us she would not blame us if we wanted to go somewhere else which we ended up doing because they were out of so many things due to them being busy that week.
A guest from Gainesville, FL recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2015 We rented this unit over the New Years holiday. Unit location is great- ocean view, private beach access, north area of island. When we unlocked the front door we were met with a sign that read, " Out of Order." The sign was on the door to stairs leading up to the unit. There was another set of stairs however this was not a positive start. Upstairs AC stopped working while there however weather cooled off and we were able to open doors for air. The unit itself shows wear and tear; lack of upkeep; dated interior. Cleanliness was fair. No HD on television and wifi was weak. Great location - unit needs some TLC.
Misty G. from Maryville, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in November, 2015 A group of us from high school decided to get together in Tybee Island because none of us had ever been there. It was a great trip. The weather was nice and the condo was great. There was plenty of room for all 7 of us.
Many Pros & Cons; Good Location, Nice View. Needs TLC
Cathy L. from Avon, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in October, 2015 We stayed in this unit with 2 adults, and our 6 teens. The size of the unit was adequate, but we had to use an inflatable mattress, plus the pullout sofa bed (which was not comfortable!). There were many pros and cons to this unit.Pros: We loved it being direct beach/ocean front!~It has it's own entrance/exit door directly out of the garage to the, no "common" doors or entryways with any other unit (very nice feature, especially if you have kids running in and out :-) ). Just know there are a lot of stairs!!! ~Good location for walking to some shops, but quite a walk from the main pier area, and North Beach.~Nice balcony areas off living room, and master bedroom. It would have been nice to have higher chairs, and maybe a table, especially on the main floor. The view of the beach/ocean was a but impeded by greenery, and the railing.~The unit was cleanCons: ~The unit, and the complex (Beachside Colony) could both use a little TLC. ~Our main complaint with the unit is it could really use some fresh paint, and general sprucing up.. The first thing you see when you enter the main living area is a huge area of scuffed paint behind the dinning table. Not what you want to see when you first walk into something you paid $2100 a week to stay in. This was a common issue throughout the unit. Cosmetic issues, like cracked tiles, pealing, scuffed paint, etc.. ~The Beachside Colony as a complex, is billed as a "secure gated community". NONE, not one of the gates actually closed or locked. They gave us a security code when we check-in, and the gate to our parking lot had obviously been broken for a long time! The lady at check-in was less than friendly! She hardly looked up at me, and seemed inconvenienced.~Although the unit sleeps 8, there were only 6 bath towel provided.Overall we were satisfied with our stay. We just expected it to be in a little better condition. We LOVE Tybee and may consider this unit again.
A guest from Cumming, GA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 8 days in September, 2015 The property we stayed in was a nice location but the condition of the unit was in poor shape. None of the tubs could hold water so we could not give the kids a bath. Also, the tubs did not drain so you had to shower in standing water. Also, the towel racks in the master bathroom would fall down every time you hung something on it, along with the toilet paper rack in the main bathroom. The curtain on the main floor to the deck (for the beach view) fell down every time you tried to open the curtain. Overall the location and unit layout was nice, but the condition of the unit was in poor shape and not very clean. Every dish in the place was covered in filth and fingerprints. We also saw fleas several times in the unit. Just seems like a lot of money for an unclean, unmaintained unit. We have been coming here every year for the past 3 years, but it seems each year the unit conditions keep getting worse. I think we will look for another place to stay in the future where the upkeep is better and no pets are allowed!!
Great Location, But There Are Issues That Need Resolving
A guest from Colorado Springs, CO does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2015 Atlantic Ocean #11 is in a perfect location. It is an older unit, but even an older place could be first class. This one is not, simply because proper maintenance and attention to detail has not been done. Curtains were torn and shabby. Shower curtain liners were all torn. Sink plugs either didn't work or were missing. There was a leak under the kitchen sink so there was a pot to catch the water. The main level bedroom had a huge leak above it and water poured in when it rained. Maintenance came to look at it (and the sliding door to the master bath which was off track) but never returned. The light in the elevator was out so a small battery operated light was on the wall. You had to feel for the buttons as it gave little to no illumination. There was a decrepit broom but no dust pan. Shelves on the door of the fridge were missing. The key didn't work in the door from the garage to the beach. The layout is great but it could be so much better! Even the doorbell on the main level didn't work. I would return to this location, but not to this unit. We enjoyed being able to walk right next door to Marlin Monroe's and have food a beverage service at the pool. Staff there were great and the pools were never overcrowded.
A guest from Centerville, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2015 A few things need attention: Master bathroom door is off the tracks and will not shut. Many light bulbs shot. Shower curtain in second bedroom on top floor was broken and would not stay up. No kitchen towels (a bathroom hand towel is not a kitchen towel).
Michael M. from Dacula, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2015 We had a wonderful stay! The condo is very nice and nicely appointed with solid furniture Master bath could use a little TLC (wonky pocket door; drain stoppers; shower pole & liner). Upper patio has a table that needs repair, as does the stained glass window (at least clear the glass from the frame)
Claire B. from Fayetteville, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2015 We really enjoyed our stay at Beachside Colony. This was our first time and Tybee and we couldn't of picked a better place to stay. We will be returning!!!!!
Deborah H. from Powder Springs, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2014 As always we had a wonderful stay; this was our third visit this year!!!! This year has been disappointing however when it comes to the restaurant - Marlin Monroe's - not sure if management has changed but we (on all three visits) and our family in July have noticed the menu changes - "holiday menu" that does not offer popular items and the staff is not up to par. The best of all the staff we saw was the hostess who was trying to seat people, clear tables and make apologies for poor service. We have always loved the restaurant but it is definitely on a downward slope. But for accommodations we were very happy. Furniture might need a little TLC noticed a couple of wabbly legs on chair and upstairs table in the hall.
A guest from Statesboro, Georgia recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in August, 2014 Nice relaxing weekend with family members. Loved the elevator for taking items up/down! Will definitely go to this particular unit in the future.
Breanne W. from Tell City, IN recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in July, 2014 We love the location! It's on the beach. It is very close to the pools & restaurant on site! The unit is nice. We chose this unit because of the elevator, however, it wasn't working properly. We reported the issue, but it was not repaired.
Debra H. from Griffin, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2014 Enjoyed the townhome very much...decorated nicely and had a great view from top floor, as well as nice view from main floor. We love Tybee Island and enjoy visiting each year. This was definitely a great experience for our family. The staff of Beachside Colony was so helpful and extremely nice each and every time we talked with them. Will definitely use them again. We have now stayed at a total of four of their properties.
Kate L. from Highland Falls, NY recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2014 Loved that the condo was right on the beach, with easy access to pools, beach and restaurant. There are lots of stairs, so baby gates would have been helpful for us...2 under 2. Also - wifi was not working and we could;t get anyone to help us resolve the issue - so the whole stay was without wifi. Plenty of parking and felt more private than the other properties on site - would recommend.
Deborah H. from Powder Springs, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in May, 2014 We love this property and always enjoy our stay. Our grandson would not want us to stay anywhere else for our yearly vacation with him. We love it so much we return each July for another week. Love Tybee and so glad we found this property many years ago!
A guest from Albertville, AL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in April, 2014 Our entire family went and my elderly mother enjoyed it also due to the elevator in the townhouse. Townhouse condition and location was wonderful.
A guest from Blythewood, SC recommends this property. Stayed for 21 days in September, 2013 Elavator needed garage door opener, but all in all it was great.
Property Manager Response: Response from Beachside Colony Thanks so much for taking the time to write a review Mrs. Galliher. It is always a pleasure seeing you, your husband Bo and Lacey. I'm so sorry that the motor went out on the elevator during your stay. The new motor will be in this week and the elevator will be back up and running. Unfortunately, we do not give out garage door openers for the unit we have had to many issues with them not being returned.
Tom Y. from Alexandria, Kentucky recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2013 In general my family had a fun stay at the beach. The were a few minor things that could have made the stay better such as 1. Cold air return was very dirty2. Up stairs bed room bath the Toilet paper holders were pulled off the wall and the toilet seat needs replaced.3. Broken blenderAll in all the we enjoyed ourselves at Tybee Island.
Linda C. from Germantown, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in June, 2013 The location and property exceeded our expectations. Loved the location. The property management company was the best I have ever rented from. The check in and check out was super easy. The only complaints were the sleeper sofa was very uncomfortable and the unit did not have wifi.
Deborah H. from Powder Springs, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in May, 2013 We have been coming to Tybee for 10 years - twice a year now that we have a grandson who loves the beach as much as we do. We ALWAYS stay at Beachside Colony - we love everything about it! See you in July :)
Marcia H. from Roswell, GA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in April, 2013 The staff was wonderful. The location was great. The weather was weather! (rain at times but we can't fix that) I wish I had not chosen to go with a condo with steps but I did. The steps were not carpeted so they were loud and dirty at times AND VERY steep. The elevator was a plus but my 77 year old mom could not figure that out. The kitchen needs alot of work. There is a toaster oven from the 70's in there. Unmatched utensils etc. The den furniture was old and uncomfortable. The sheets on the master bed were literally threadbare--HOLES. The pillows were uncomfortable as well. There were no blinds in the master. When the sun was up so were you. After 2 nights of wedding prep, festivities and alot of hard work a long nights sleep would have been nice. The twins beds upstairs were also uncomfortable. Sorry I don't have alot of good to say. I visited other units and wished I was in them. The ocean view was beautiful but not worth the money.
Reviewed by: Anna K. recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in March, 2013 We all had a wonderful time. Our party included 4 adults and 2 children (6 and 9). The kids said they liked this trip more than Disney (and we did too :)). The condo is in need of updates (especially in the bathrooms), otherwise it was great. The location and views were wonderful.
A guest from Canton, Ohio does not recommend this property. Stayed for 2 days in March, 2013 Location was great. Liked Marlin Monroe's - Offers a lot of convenience. Pool area is nice.Issues/concerns: They rented out Marlin Monroe's to a wedding party and that took over some of the pool area. I paid for that pool area and should not have to give it up without compensation. Also the Townhouse was only superficially clean. Nearly all of the furnature was old and in poor condition (like they furnished the town house at a garage sale). The dinning table was scratched and pocked and the legs were loose and rickety.
Bob C. from Knoxville, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in October, 2012 We personally had to clean the rooms when we arrived....oven caught on fire prior food residue. The property needs a good overall cleaning.
