Beachside Colony Review
A guest from Jackson, missouri recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in June, 2016 Our stay was wonderful except the pool situation. When looking for a beach condo, a pool is an absolute must for our family. It was the top reason we booked with your resort. We were very disappointed when all three pools were rarely open at the same time. For a resort of your size it made it almost impossible to enjoy the pool with so many people crammed into the only available pool.
Great location, resort itself needs major renovations
A guest from Lake Lure, NC does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in April, 2016 Our individual unit (432 Beach House Dunes) was very well decorated, despite building's overall age. Guest services staff, competent and responsive. Restaurant and bar staff was very much hit or miss incompetency and responsiveness - even on slow days. Maintenance staff - extremely slow response times. This resort boasts its three pools. However, they were dirty on many days and one was unusable for nearly 72 hours because it was far too hot to get into. It took multiple complaints from multiple guests to get it rectified. In 80+ degree weather at a poolside resort, you're expecting to enjoy all of the pools. Also, the property has some serious plumbing issues (because of its age). One day, sewage was backing up out of the main tank into the parking lot. Someone came and cleaned out their tank and then it was fine. Still, you don't expect that in a $2,000 a week resort on the ocean. We made the best of all of it and enjoyed our vacation, but not because this is a 'first-rate' resort.
Amy A. from Prosper, TX recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in December, 2015 This unit has a great ocean front location. It was clean and very spacious. It is not a brand new unit and it definitely shows signs of being used frequently but it is a condo on the beach and is as clean as you could expect a beach condo to be. Lots of cats and birds around the property itself. Lots of seashells along the beach. People are very friendly on the property and in Tybee.
A guest from Goodspring, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in December, 2015 Other than the fact that we were told the onsite restaurant was open and there was a children"s activity center onsite everything was great. The condo was very nice with a beautiful view of the water. I highly recommend taking lots of washing detergent as the washing machine is basically doll clothes size.It was a wonderful and relaxing vacation which was exactly what we needed. It is also close to many historical sites so there was plenty to do.
Russell B. from Lindale, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in December, 2015 It's always too short of a stay. Miss you Tybee. Special thanks to the staff at Beachside Colonies, loved the Christmas card!!!
A guest from JONESBORO, Georgia does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in November, 2015 After several other wonderful stays at Beachside, we were very disappointed with the quality of the accommodations this time..:(The door facing was falling off - one tv was old as could be...couldn't cut the living room tv help until day after Thanksgiving. ..it smelled old in there!
Martha W. from Paducah, KY does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in October, 2015 Lovely weather for this time of year, and manager Phillip and the rest of the crew were great even though we had no elevator for first two days. As far as #432 is concerned, we were not pleased. It seemed to us the owners put very little effort into making it a pleasant place to stay. We walked in and discovered locking plate was loose and therefore you couldn't lock the deadbolt. I went to master bathroom to wash my hands and the handle of sink fell off in my hand. When I moved to dry hands on towel, the towel bar dislodged from the holder. Only one barely sharp knife to cut things with. Only one wine glass. The owner of this condo collects a lot of money and provides very few necessary items for a pleasant stay. As I said before, Phillip and the staff were very helpful.
A guest from Evans, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in September, 2015 Over all our stay was very nice, except severalthings need to be mentioned...The year before we complained about the guest bedroom matt-ress wasn't confortable & the need for black-out curtains. Well; we got blackout curtains but they weren't big enough, especially for the beach side BR & the mattress for the guest BR was the add to things, the front door was damaged which made it hard to open & closed....Next yr, if we stay we will try another room, maybe #431.I was promisted a discount for having staying multi times, which I didn't see on my final in-voice...
Catherine S. from Williamsburg, Ohio recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in August, 2015 Overall We were very satisfied with our stay! The view was absolutely beautiful! I believe the furniture and amenities were a little run down and should be updated. There was alot of dust under the beds, how do we know this? We brought our cats and thats the first place they went when we got there! Also several lights were out thru the condo and the one bathroom's toilet handle kept coming off. Other than that we would definitely stay there again! Because this condo is in a perfect area with everything on Tybee, we had a great time shopping, eating, and beach walking! We definitely love Tybee and miss you already!!!
A guest from Lizella, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2015 My condo needs to be updated. The bed skirt was torn and handle falls off the toilet in hall bath. The moulding looks old. The garage was flooded after the rain and we had to walk in knee deep water to get in. I think for this kind of money the condo needs to be updated.
Jennifer H. from Macon, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2015 It was everything we expected everything was clean and neat.the kitchen had everything we needed to cook.and the view was amazing and I will be staying there again in the near future.
Luther M. from Ellenwood, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in July, 2015 Stayed for 4 days & loved it. Found someones bathing suit left under edge of bed looks like it would have been seen if cleaned as well as it should have been but other than that very clean & great location
Martha L. from Center Rutland, VT does not recommend this property. Stayed for 4 days in April, 2015 We booked this oceanfront condo to spend time with our daughter and her boyfriend and absolutely loved the location, but that was about the only good thing about this rental. When we arrived, the parking garage code to enter the parking garage was not working. Then we finally got into the garage and upon entering our room found the floors filthy dirty, the master bathroom counter was covered in sand, the master toilet was constantly running, and the freezer wasn't working properly. We requested that maintenance come and fix our issues and it took 3 days to get someone to fix them. We also requested additional towels and never received them. It is very unfortunate that we didn't have a good experience since we'll be travelling to visit our daughter on occasion, but won't be using this place ever again due to our poor customer service issues.
ROSE B. from DOUGLASVILLE, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 6 days in September, 2014 Tybee is my favorite place to vacation ever and the only place I stay is Beachside Colony. In the past I always had very nice, clean rooms beautifully decorated. However, this unit was not as clean. There was black mold around the master bathtub. It needed touch up paint or a new paint job. There were no black out drapes in the living room for people who had to sleep out there. The drapes in the living room appeared to have large brown urine stains on them. There frying pans were very small, not big enough for a large family cooking and they appeared to have seen better days. I had to go out and buy a large frying pan to use. The vaccuum cleaner blowed the debree around the floor rather than vaccuum it up. The beds were very hard and uncomfortable. But the view from this unit was to die for. That's what I go to Tybee for is to be able to sit out on the deck and watch the waves. I really hate to complain about the unit but I think these are things that the owners/management should know about to make the unit a place someone would want to rent again. The decorations were mismatched but that's not a problem. My daughters and I had a great time anyway. I will stay at Beachside again. But I would like to see the units updated and repaired. This is the only one that I actually have stayed in that had some issues. Tybee Island is such a beautiful place to vacation.
Greg H. from Huntsville, AL recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2014 Great location, reasonably prices, relaxing view & clean!! Not many places have the awesome ocean view with 3 pools & a fantastic Marlin Monroe's Bar & Grill on the property!! Also ate at String Ray's, delish fried shrimp! The only downside was that it needed DVD players for the TV's, & needed heavy curtains in the den to block sun if you wanted to watch TV during the day. Would recommend highly & would return!!
A guest from Eatonton, GA does not recommend this property. Stayed for 3 days in July, 2014 We loved the view and layout, amenities of the condo, but it was NOT CLEAN. From the front door (black scuff marks) to the same black scuff marks in the closet, to greasy pots and pans, mildewed cabinet under the sink - that was our only disappointment. So much so, we will not be back.
A guest from HAMILTON, OH does not recommend this property. Stayed for 7 days in July, 2014 This was the 1st time I have stayed in this unit and it will be the last. The unit did not feel clean. Not one switch plate cover fit properly, the vents and registers did not fit properly. The vents/registers in the master bedroom had something black around the edges. I don't know if it was mold or just needed painting. The grout around the tub in the master bath had something black on it. The oven was dirty, wasp nest on the balcony (which maintenance took care of). I just found the unit to be not as clean and kept up as it should be for the rate I paid. I will not stay in this unit again.
A guest from Augusta, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 1 days in June, 2014 Location is amazing. This staff was very pleasant and professional. Prices were a tad high, but it is peak season. Love the ocean front view though.
Pat G. from Blythewood, SC recommends this property. Stayed for 21 days in April, 2014 We spend 3 weeks at Beachside every year (Beach House oceanfront). They allow pets; so we can take our little Maltipoo. We love everything about Beachside Colony. I highly recommend.
curtis d. from niota, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 7 days in October, 2013 We really enjoy staying at Beach Colony. 3 years in a row and have enjoyed our stay every year. No bad experiences. Very friendly folks, and wonderful accomadations.
A guest from Loganville, Georgia recommends this property. Stayed for 3 days in October, 2013 My only complaint was that the shower curtain had mold on it and the individual greeting you wasn't rude but wasn't overly friendly either. I've been coming to Beachside Colony for years and love it but have to admit it's gotten rediculously expensive. When you can stay in a condo in Destin for 1/2 the price per night and have the sugar white sand, emerald water and a ton of things to do, it's hard to justify continued return.
A guest from West Columbia, SC recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in September, 2013 We went to Tybee Island for our second annual Tybee beach weekend and once again we used the wonderful accommodations of the Beachside Colony! It is perfect in every way. For people who don't like the noisey young crowds and annoying screaming kids, this side of Tybee is perfect! The place can't be beat. I highly recommend it and you can bet your bottom dollar me and my friends will be back for the third annual Tybee beach weekend! Thank you thank you thank you to the wonderful staff, and to the very kind owner who rents out his unit to strangers like me. God bless!
A guest from Dayton, TN recommends this property. Stayed for 4 days in August, 2013 Our unit was nicely furnished and was clean. The pools were a nice feature for the kids. We loved that we were able to get to the beach so easily. Everyone was friendly and helpful.
Tami M. from Marietta, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 5 days in July, 2013 We have stayed at Beachside Colony for the last six years and love the property and it's amenities. From time to time there will be something wrong in the unit, but that is to be expected. Our only true complain about the property is the horrible smell of trash exiting the south side to head to the beach. Other than that, it's a wonderful experience and place to stay!
A guest from Atlanta, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in April, 2013 We stayed here with a group for a wedding. We had a perfect stay and the rental company was very nice and accommodating. The pool service was very slow. Great location and dogs were happy!
Frances B. from Grey, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 2 days in October, 2012 It was very good. Everything was in good shape. I was there for a very personal reason and I was glad we had chosen to be there.
Alan D. from Atlanta, GA recommends this property. Stayed for 8 days in October, 2012 It would be nice to have a couple extra towels and also an extra roll of toilet paper. The elevator makes some noises which are a little discomforting and the lights on the overhead walkways were not on. Overall, we were very pleased and, hopefully, will be back
